Last summer, I went to a summer camp in the mountains with my classmates. We stayed there for a week.
Every morning, we got up at 6:00 and did morning exercises. Then we had breakfast. After breakfast, we went hiking in the forest. We saw many wild animals, like rabbits and squirrels. In the afternoon, we had outdoor activities, such as swimming in the river and playing games.
One day, we had a cooking competition. Each group had to make a dish. My group made a vegetable salad. It was simple but tasty. We won the second prize.
In the evening, we sat around a campfire and sang songs. The stars were bright, and the air was fresh. I

made many new friends there.
On the last day, we cleaned the camp and said goodbye to each other. I felt a little sad but very happy. It was an unforgettable experience.

Many people like going on holiday. It’s a good chance to relax, visit new places and see new things. But while planning a trip, you have to decide whether you want to travel with family or friends, or just alone.
Travelling with family can be very cheap or even free, if parents pay. However, there may be many arguments. One friend told me that both she and her sister were in tears after arguing on holiday. In my own family, Dad always wants to go to a museum. Mum would like to stay in the hotel. My sister likes to buy clothes. As for me, the coffee shop is a great place.
Travelling with friends would be fun. When you are travelling with friends, you do more different things than you do with family. And you can become closer to each other. But money always plays an important role. It is normal for you to have different budgets. Besides, there are also different opinions while you’re planning where to stay and what to eat.
There is another choice: Travelling alone. It has advantages over travelling with others. For example, you don’t need to think about others’budget. You can choose what you want to do, and it’s easier for you to make new friends. Of course, it isn’t always good. Sometimes, you may feel lonely and bored. And, when you want to go to the toilet at the bus station or airport, there is nobody to look after your things.

Last August, the government (政府) in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, asked parents to make their children do housework for at least two hours each week. The regulation (规定) is the first such local regulation on labour (劳动) education in China.
People had a discussion about it. Some thought it was necessary to teach young children simple life skills, and others said children would be too tired if they had to do housework every week.
Zhou Xiaoyu is the mother of a seventh grader and she didn’t agree with the regulation. “There are many ways to help students learn life skills, but the regulation is not one of them. ”
Wang Xing, a high school student, said she didn’t have time for housework although she wanted to help her parents. “I have much homework to do and many exams to prepare for. I only have a few hours to relax every weekend,” said Wang.
“Parents’ role is important in labour education. However, many parents only care about students’ grades,” said Xiong Bingqi, an expert in education. “They don’t ask their children to do housework or learn life skills. In fact, labour education is good for students’ mind and body. ”
