boring(无聊的)、serious(严肃的)、difficult(困难的)均不符合。
而orange(橙子)、peach(桃子)、pear(梨)均与上下文无关。
根据“the smell in the air”,可知动作是闻,动词用smell(闻)。taste(尝)、look(看)、feel(感觉)均不符合动作要求。
根据“his hand and said”,可知学生要发言需举手。固定搭配put up one’s hand表示举手,因此填up(向上)。down(向下)、away(离开)、on(在……
根据“each of the students”,可知老师走到学生中间,表示“走过、经过”用go past,因此填past(经过)。away(离开)、out(出去)、in(进入)均不恰当。
根据“see... the smell... is still”,可知此处引导宾语从句表示“是否”。用if。how(如何)、what(什么)、when(何时)均不表示“是否”。
showed(过去式不能作目的状语)、showing(现在分词表示伴随,但目的性不如不定式强)、show(原形不恰当)。
or(或者)、but(但是)、of(介词)均不符合。
之外(不包括)”,用except(除了)。with(带有)、instead(代替,不是介词)、from(来自)均不符合。
usually(通常)、normally(正常地)、often(经常)均表示频率,不合语境。
根据“This is not a real apple”,可知女孩认为不是真苹果。 truth(真相,名词)、truthful(诚实的)、same(相同的)均不对。
pointed(指着)、noticed(注意到)、counted(数数)均不符合。
根据“All of the other”,可知是复数所有格。 student’s(单数所有格)、student(单数)、students(复数无所有格)均错误。
根据“might have... that”,可知是心理活动。根据语境,表示“想过、认为”用thought(认为)。believed(相信)语气太强,wondered(想知道)侧重疑问,supposed(推测)不如thought贴合语境。
one(一个)、once(一次)、second(第二个)均不符合。

C
If you could travel in time, where would you go? Perhaps you would watch a performance of Shakespeare’s greatest play in Elizabethan England? What about hanging out with Laozi in the Spring and Autumn Period? Or maybe you’d travel far ahead of the present day to see what the future holds.
Stories exploring the subject have been around for hundreds of years. Perhaps the best-known example is science fiction novel The Time Machine, which was written by H.G. Wells and came out in 1895. It was adapted (改编) into at least two films of the same name, as well as two television versions and a large number of comic book adaptations. The term “time machine”, put forward by H.G. Wells, now generally refers to a vehicle (交通工具) transporting people into the far future.
___★____ Some scientists say yes. They suggest using cracks (裂缝) in time and space called “wormholes”, which could serve as shortcuts to other periods. Einstein’s theory (理论) of relativity allows time travel in extreme cases. And Stephen Hawking said you could travel into the future with a really fast spaceship—going at nearly the speed of light, though building such a spaceship wouldn’t of course be simple.
Even if you could travel into the past, there is something called the “grandfather paradox”. It asks what would happen if a time traveler were to go back in time and have his own grandfather killed for some reasons, and therefore prevent himself from being born. If the time traveler wasn’t born, how would he travel back in time?
In H.G. Wells’s book, the main character travels into distant time where he arrives at a beach and is attacked by giant crabs. He then travels 30 million years into the future where the only living thing is a black object with tentacles (触角).
If that’s what’s in store, maybe we’re better just living in the present day after all.
26.The author starts the passage by _________.
A.expressing his opinion B.raising questions
C.telling stories D.giving suggestions
27.Why does the author mention The Time Machine in Para. 2?
A.To tell the development history of time travel.
B.To introduce how the time machine works.
C.To praise H.G. Wells’s achievement.
D.To show people’s interest in time travel.
28.Which of the following can be put in ____★_____?
A.Would you really like to visit the future?
B.But could time travel actually be possible?
C.What kind of vehicle can transport people through time?
D.Could wormholes hold the secret to faster-than-light travel?
29.The underlined phrase “grandfather paradox” in Para.4 probably means “_________”.
A.the grandfather’s death makes the traveler’s birth impossible
B.the traveler is prevented from meeting his grandfather
C.the reunion of the traveler and his grandfather means a lot
D.the traveler goes back in time to look for his grandfather
30.What’s the author’s attitude towards time travel?
A.Supportive. B.Uncaring. C.Doubtful. D.Hopeful.
【答案】26.B 27.D 28.B 29.A 30.C
根据“If you could travel in time, where would you go?”
根据“Perhaps the best-known example is science fiction novel The Time Machine, which was written by H.G. Wells and came out in 1895. It was adapted into at least two films of the same name, as well as two television versions and a large number of comic book adaptations.”
根据“Some scientists say yes. They suggest using cracks in time and space called ‘wormholes’, which could serve as shortcuts to other periods.”
根据“It asks what would happen if a time traveler were to go back in time and have his own grandfather killed for some reasons, and therefore prevent himself from being born.” 故选A。
根据“If that’s what’s in store, maybe we’re better just living in the present day after all.”

Growing up in Jiangsu Province, Yu Jigao showed a strong interest in fine arts at an early age and studied on his own for years. His hard work paid off later. In the early 1950s, he made his way to Nanjing Normal University, where he learned painting from some famous artists. It was then that Yu found his lifelong love of gongbi. Gongbi paintings usually describe birds and flowers, symbols of beauty and joy with strong colors.
After graduating from the art school in 1957, Yu began his professional life at the Chinese Painting Institute of Jiangsu. Many books of his artwork have come out. Since 1959, Yu has created a lot of works for many important sites (场所). Yu’s works have also been on a number of national and international shows.
B.Uncaring. C.Doubtful. D.Hopeful.
