基础语篇巩固练
Many people want to make friends just as much as you do, so think about these ways to meet people and make friends.
Talk to people. You can join a club, go to school, or go to church but you still won’t make friends if you don’t talk to people. You can talk to anybody: the person sitting next to you on the bus, or the person in front of you on the lunch line. There are many ways to start a conversation. You can talk about weather, ask for help or give praise.
Introduce yourself towards the end of the conversation. It can be as simple as saying, “Oh, by the way, my name is...” When you introduce yourself, the other person will do the same. Remember his or her name!
Ask them out for lunch or coffee. In this way, you can talk and get to know each other better.
Be a good listener. You should show that you’re interested in others. Listen carefully to what people say, remember important things about them (their names, their likes and dislikes), ask questions about their interests, and try to learn more about them.
Be there for the person. If a friend needs help, be there.
1.What is the main idea of the passage?
A.How to make friends. B.How to talk to people.

At the end of Grade 6, Lisa and her classmates needed to have a performance in the graduation ceremony (毕业典礼), in groups or on their own. Lisa was the only one without a group. She was upset about it. I encouraged her to perform if she was willing to take the stage. I told her that I would be there with her forever.
“I’ll sing a song,” she told me. Hearing that, I was happy. I knew she would make it on her way.

To my great surprise, she sang so sweetly, as if it came from the singing of an angel. I had never imagined that Lisa had a talent for music.
