I work with game developers and designers to think of good stories, and I write all the dialogues in the game by myself. When I was in secondary school, I never imagined that I would do this job! I played the violin and that was what I planned to do as my job. But I had an accident when I was playing basketball and hurt my hand, so I had to think of doing something else. My mother wanted me to be a journalist, but I didn’t think it was for me. I didn’t know what to study at university. After graduation I went to a film school where I studied lighting, special effects, how to use a camera, and all that (诸如此类)! It was there that I decided to work in the video game industry. People also ask me what I like best about being a video game writer. Well, the money is good and it’s quite exciting. Just last night, for example, I was at a big dinner where they were giving prizes for new games. But what I love most is the fact that I get on so well with everyone in the company. That’s what makes my job so much fun. A Britain’s seaside towns, once badly hurt, are now coming back to life! Old buildings still stand, but new art centres, fun activities, and popular places are bringing back their past glory. Here are four towns to visit this summer. Scarborough, Yorkshire Scarborough may be Britain’s first seaside spot for vacation. In the 1600s, people came for its health-giving springs. After years of downturn, it’s now improving thanks to new plans: hosting everything from poetry readings to rock music festivals, while still welcoming visitors to its top-rated beaches. Margate, Kent Every coastal town wants to attract visitors all year, and Margate does this best. When bad weather keeps people from the beach, there’s lots of indoor fun-like old-fashioned games and the Turner Contemporary art centre. But what really helps Margate grow is the strong community spirit, everyone working together. Barmouth, Wales On the way to famous North Wales spots like Snowdonia, don’t miss Barmouth! This hidden town sits where a river meets the sea, with mountains behind its beaches. Its slogan (口号) is “mountain, sand & sea” — just look at the sunset over the water with mountains in the distance. Many visitors love it so much that they decide to move here and become residents! Penzance, Cornwall Penzance has recovered slowly, not suddenly. Over the last 10 years, many new projects have helped the town. The main events are the 10-day Golowan festival, which features parades and shows, and the Montol winter celebration. Visitors can take a sleeper train (a train with beds) from London, or fly by helicopter to nearby Scilly Isles. The local food is also very popular! 21.What attracted people to Scarborough in the 1600s? A.Poetry readings. B.Music festivals. C.Seaside attractions. D.Healthful springs. 22.What is the main factor for Margate’s growth? A.Warm weather. B.Indoor activities. C.Local teamwork. D.Modern facilities. 23.Which town has liveable natural conditions? A.Margate, Kent. B.Barmouth, Wales. C.Penzance, Cornwall. D.Scarborough, Yorkshire. 根据第三段“But what really helps Margate grow is the strong community spirit, everyone working together.(但真正推动马格特发展的是浓厚的社区精神,即所有人齐心协力)”可知,马盖特发展壮大的主要因素是地方团队合作。故选C。 23. 根据倒数第二段“On the way to famous North Wales spots like Snowdonia, don’t miss Barmouth! This hidden town sits where a river meets the sea, with mountains behind its beaches. Its slogan (口号) is “mountain, sand & sea” — just look at the sunset over the water with mountains in the distance. Many visitors love it so much that they decide to move here and become residents!(在前往著名的北威尔士景点(如斯诺多尼亚)的途中,千万不要错过Barmouth!这座隐匿的小镇位于一条河流与大海交汇之处,其海滩背后是群山。它的宣传口号是“山、沙与海”——只需看看那远处山峦与水面交相辉映的落日景色即可。许多游客如此喜爱这里,以至于决定搬到这里并成为这里的居民!)”可知,Barmouth具备适宜居住的自然条件。故选B。 B It was a cold May morning when I received an email from an old friend inviting me to join a 10-day all-girls surfing trip. I knew I had to say yes. The trip seemed simple enough. 10 women aged 30 to 45, all complete strangers, were to meet on the coast of Portugal to try something new: surfing in the Atlantic Ocean. I have always loved traveling, so I eagerly sent an email to my boss asking for time off to make the trip. If there’s one thing I’ve learned over my past 33 years, it’s that adults typically spend their days mastering the things they’ve done before. It seems like we pride ourselves on becoming experts in whatever field we’ve fallen into, knowing more about less. Now, in theory, this is a great strategy, as it allows you to become really good at one particular thing, but it also may end up leaving some skills lacking. I met my new surfing companions on the lawn of the hotel in a small surf town called Ericeira. Despite our different personalities and backgrounds, we were all united in a strong desire to challenge ourselves, learn, tackle issues and grow. The shores at Ericeira, where the beginners learn to surf, are shallow and covered with slippery rocks. They make for softer waves but are difficult to ride. Guided by our amazing coaches, together, we faced the waves. Sometimes, it poured with rain, and the waves crashed around us, but we were still out there. And with every slip and fall, words of encouragement filled the air. Honestly, I probably spent most of my days frozen to the bone, but that didn’t matter because a new level of genuine joy and personal achievement had been unlocked. Learning a new skill taught me the humility that can come from doing badly at something new, and the pride that develops when you finally manage to grasp something you’ve been working on. While surfing might not be my lifelong passion, trying it out inspired me to take more risks in life. You never know what you’re capable of if you don’t go out there and try. 24.What inspired the author to join the surfing trip? A.Her love for seashore surfing. B.Her desire to make new friends. C.Her need to take a break from work. D.Her desire for exploring something new. 25.What does the author think of adults’ focusing on mastering one field? A.It narrows one’s potential. B.It hurts one’s pride. C.It broadens one’s view of the world. D.It promotes one’s career success. 26.Which adjectives can best describe the author’s surfing experience? A.Relaxing but dangerous. B.Challenging but rewarding. C.Tough and uninteresting. D.Surprising and unforgettable. 27.What can be inferred about the author? A.She used to lack confidence in herself. B.She was determined to become an expert surfer. C.She discovered her lifelong passion after the trip. D.She was more willing to try new experiences in life. 根据文章第一段“10 women aged 30 to 45, all complete strangers, were to meet on the coast of Portugal to try something new: surfing in the Atlantic Ocean. I have always loved traveling, so I eagerly sent an email to my boss asking for time off to make the trip. (10名年龄在30-45岁之间的女士,全都是陌生人,将在葡萄牙海岸碰面,尝试一件新鲜事:在大西洋冲浪。我一直热爱旅行,因此我热切地给老板发邮件请假来参加这次旅行。)”,结合第三段“Despite our different personalities and backgrounds, we were all united in a strong desire to challenge ourselves, learn, tackle issues and grow. (我们性格、背景各不相同,但都怀着同一个强烈的愿望:挑战自我、学习、解决问题并获得成长。)”可知,作者是出于探索新事物的渴望决定参加旅行。 25.细节理解题。根据文章第二段“It seems like we pride ourselves on becoming experts in whatever field we’ve fallen into, knowing more about less. Now, in theory, this is a great strategy, as it allows you to become really good at one particular thing, but it also may end up leaving some skills lacking. (我们似乎总以自己在所涉猎的领域成为专家为傲,懂得更多,却了解得更少。从理论上来说,这是一个不错的策略,因为它能让你变得非常擅长某一件特定的事,但它最终也可能会让你缺失其他一些技能。)”可知,作者认为只专注一个领域会限制一个人的潜力发展。 26.推理判断题。根据文章第四段“The shores at Ericeira, where the beginners learn to surf, are shallow and covered with slippery rocks. They make for softer waves but are difficult to ride. (埃里塞拉供初学者学习冲浪的海岸水浅,还覆盖着湿滑的岩石。这里的浪更缓,但很难驾驭。)”和第五段“Honestly, I probably spent most of my days frozen to the bone, but that didn’t matter because a new level of genuine joy and personal achievement had been unlocked. (老实说,我大部分时间都冻得刺骨,但这并不重要,因为我解锁了全新层次的纯粹快乐和个人成就感。)”可推知,作者的这次冲浪之旅充满挑战但收获满满,很有意义。 27.推理判断题。根据文章最后一段“While surfing might not be my lifelong passion, trying it out inspired me to take more risks in life. You never know what you are capable of if you don’t go out there and try. (尽管冲浪不会成为我毕生的爱好,但这次尝试激励我在生活中去承担更多风险。如果你不走出去尝试,你永远不会知道自己的能力。)”可推知,这次旅行后作者更愿意在生活中尝试新的体验了。 C Eating herbs and spices could be the key to preventing mosquitoes from biting, a study suggests. Experts from Johns Hopkins University set up a complicated trial in a testing field in Zambia to find out which people are most attractive to mosquitoes. In one experiment the team asked six people to sleep in single-person tents which had a pipe pumping (抽送) out the nightly smell of the occupant onto a monitored mosquito landing platform. They found that the mosquitoes were consistently drawn to the smells of people giving off more carboxylic acids (羧酸), but were beaten back by a person who had raised levels of eucalyptol (桉树精油). Eucalyptol, a fragrant component of many plants, is a common ingredient (成分) in toothpaste and mouthwash. Dr. Conor McMeniman, assistant professor at Johns Hopkins University, said, “Our study reflects that high levels of eucalyptol in your body scent may make you less attractive to mosquitoes.” Interestingly, all humans whose body scent was analyzed in this study seemed to send out some eucalyptol. However, the person that was least attractive to mosquitoes had higher amounts of the chemical. This person likely obtained this compound from plant-based foods in their diet; but it is also possible that it could have been from external products as eucalyptol is also a common ingredient in toothpaste and mouthwash. Experts think that as well as producing a strong unpleasant smell, eucalyptol may also act as a deodorizing agent (除臭剂) which masks the other chemicals that attract mosquitoes. “Most studies of mosquito preference have been performed in laboratory settings that do not represent how the insects act in the wild,” Dr. McMeniman said. Each night, the researchers released 200 hungry mosquitoes into the field and monitored their activity using motion cameras. Dr. McMeniman said, “To definitively conclude that high levels of eucalyptol in one’s diet would drive mosquitoes away, it would require a clinical trial with larger numbers of human volunteers which we didn’t perform here.” 28.What does Johns Hopkins University’s experiment focus on? A.Mosquitoes’ preference for humans’ body smell. B.Effects of different chemicals on people’s energy. C.Significance of tents in keeping mosquitoes away. D.Links between men’s sleep-patterns and mosquitoes. 29.What is stressed about eucalyptol in paragraph 3? A.Its features. B.Its application. C.Its function. D.Its ingredients. 30.What can be inferred about the people least attractive to mosquitoes? A.They may have prepared toilet water. B.They may have applied heavy make-up. C.They may have bought a deodorizing agent. D.They may have used products with eucalyptol. 31.What does Dr. McMeniman imply in the last paragraph? A.The number of wild mosquitoes is ignored. B.Lab studies are limited to mosquitoes’ range. C.The role of eucalyptol intake needs further evidence. D.Previous experiments don’t agree with current findings. 根据第一段“Experts from Johns Hopkins University set up a complicated trial in a testing field in Zambia to find out which people are most attractive to mosquitoes.(约翰・霍普金斯大学的专家在赞比亚的试验场地开展了一项复杂实验,目的是找出哪些人最容易吸引蚊子。)”以及第二段“They found that the mosquitoes were consistently drawn to the smells of people giving off more carboxylic acids (羧酸), but were beaten back by a person who had raised levels of eucalyptol (桉树精油). (他们发现蚊子总会被释放更多羧酸气味的人吸引,而体内桉树精油含量高的人则不易招蚊子。)”可知,该实验的研究重点是蚊子对人体气味的偏好。 29.细节理解题。根据第三段“Experts think that as well as producing a strong unpleasant smell, eucalyptol may also act as a deodorizing agent (除臭剂) which masks the other chemicals that attract mosquitoes.(专家认为桉树精油除了会散发浓烈刺鼻气味,还可充当除臭剂,掩盖那些吸引蚊子的化学物质。)” 根据第三段“This person likely obtained this compound from plant-based foods in their diet; but it is also possible that it could have been from external products as eucalyptol is also a common ingredient in toothpaste and mouthwash.(这个人很可能从植物类食物中摄入该物质,但也有可能来自外用产品,因为桉树精油是牙膏和漱口水的常见成分。)” 根据最后一段“To definitively conclude that high levels of eucalyptol in one’s diet would drive mosquitoes away, it would require a clinical trial with larger numbers of human volunteers which we didn’t perform here.(想要得出饮食中摄入大量桉树精油能驱蚊这一确切结论,还需要更多志愿者参与临床试验,本次研究并未开展这类试验。)” D Does your heart feel a warm pull every time you see ancient Chinese cultural relics (文物)? Mine does. Maybe that feeling comes from visiting the Forbidden City as a kid, where the red walls and golden roofs were more of a living history story than just old buildings for every visitor like me. Cultural heritage (遗产) protection is a growing global concern, especially for ancient cities with long histories. From digital technology to strict preservation rules, countries and institutions are seeking ways to keep historical relics alive. But in 2020, the Palace Museum tried a creative way: It opened free online digital exhibitions to show its precious collections to people worldwide. Since then, the Palace Museum has launched (发起) over 20 digital exhibitions, featuring ancient calligraphy, royal porcelain and traditional jade carvings. Each online show was specially designed to raise awareness of Chinese cultural heritage protection and let more people touch history easily. A study by cultural protection organizations found that less than 1% of the world’s population can see ancient relics on the spot due to location and preservation limits, with over 99% having no such chance. Many museums have tried online displays, but the Palace Museum took the concept further with high-quality digital technology. It should be noted that the digital exhibitions are not simple relic photos. Instead, they use advanced 3D and VR technology by the museum’s professional team. High-definition scanning, virtual scene restoration and interactive tours were all put to good use, turning relics into vivid “digital cultural relics” with careful design. Though first created for people unable to visit on the spot, the online exhibitions won worldwide praise quickly. The Palace Museum has since updated more digital content every year. Nevertheless, it reminds us that there are many new ways to protect cultural heritage, and history can be passed on and shared in warmer, more interesting ways. 32.What is true about the author? A.He likes Chinese relics. B.He worked in the Palace Museum. C.He is a heritage expert. D.He collects ancient calligraphy. 33.Why did the Palace Museum open online exhibitions? A.To sell precious collections. B.To test photo-showing technology. C.To raise heritage protection awareness. D.To replace on-site exhibitions. 34.What is paragraph 5 mainly about? A.Teamwork mode. B.Popularity reasons. C.Exhibition technology. D.Relic storage place. 35.Which can be the best title for the text? A.Digital Relics Carry History Forward B.Online Tours to See Palace Collections C.Global Efforts in Heritage Protection D.Advanced Tech for Museum Displays 【答案】32.A 33.C 34.C 35.A 【导语】本文主要讲述了作者对中国古代文物的热爱,以及故宫博物院通过高质量数字技术开设免费在线数字展览来展示珍贵藏品、提升文化遗产保护意识并让更多人便捷触摸历史的故事。 根据第一段“Does your heart feel a warm pull every time you see ancient Chinese cultural relics (文物)? Mine does. Maybe that feeling comes from visiting the Forbidden City as a kid, where the red walls and golden roofs were more of a living history story than just old buildings for every visitor like me. (你每次看到中国古代文物时,心里是否会感到一股温暖的牵引?我会。也许这种感觉来自小时候参观故宫,那里的红墙金顶更像是一个鲜活的历史故事,而不仅仅是我这样每位访客所见到的古老建筑。)”可知,作者对中国文物有深厚的感情和喜爱。 33.细节理解题。根据第三段“Each online show was specially designed to raise awareness of Chinese cultural heritage protection and let more people touch history easily. (每场在线展览都是专门为提高中国文化遗产保护意识而设计的,让更多人能够轻松触摸历史。)”可知,故宫博物院开设在线展览的目的是提高文化遗产保护意识。 34.主旨大意题。根据第五段“Instead, they use advanced 3D and VR technology by the museum’s professional team. High-definition scanning, virtual scene restoration and interactive tours were all put to good use, turning relics into vivid “digital cultural relics” with careful design. How to Develop a Lifelong Reading Habit Nowadays, a large number of high school students spend most of their spare time on digital products. They scroll through short videos for hours without thinking. 36 Reading, however, can bring long-term benefits that screens cannot offer. Here are practical tips to build a steady reading habit. Pick suitable light reading instead of heavy academic works at the beginning. Many students give up reading quickly because they choose books full of complex theories. Actually, travel journals, biographies of ordinary people and popular science essays are all perfect choices. 37 38 A fixed reading time helps your brain form a routine. You can read for 20 minutes before going to bed or after finishing homework. Even short daily reading adds up to huge progress over months. Do not wait for long free periods to read. Take simple notes while reading. You don’t have to write long reviews. Write down impressive sentences or new words you meet. 39 This small habit strengthens your memory and improves your writing ability little by little. Share your reading thoughts with classmates or family. Talking about stories you’ve read lets you see things from different views. 40 Once reading becomes a social pleasure, you will never treat it as a boring task. Reading is a lifelong journey. He worked hard, completed his homework on time, and respected his teachers, but there was always someone who scored a bit higher. He never complained, though. His father often reminded him, “Marks matter, but honesty matters more.” Rohan believed that — or so he thought. Then came the day when the math exam results were announced. The classroom buzzed with nervous whispers. Some students prayed silently, while others tapped their pencils anxiously. When Mrs. Sharma began calling out names, Rohan’s heart raced. He had studied extremely hard and hoped for a satisfying score. “Rohan,” Mrs. Sharma called. He stepped forward and took his paper with shaking hands. Looking at the top, he froze: 95 out of 100 — the highest score he had ever achieved. His best friend Aarav, who usually topped the class, had only scored 93. Disbelief washed over him. “Well done, Rohan! You’ve earned it,” Aarav smiled sincerely. Rohan forced a smile, yet he felt uneasy. Checking his paper carefully, he spotted a careless calculation (计算) mistake in Question 7. He clearly remembered being unsure about that answer. But Mrs. Sharma had given him full marks. His fingers tightened around the paper. “No one will notice,” a small voice inside him whispered. “Just three points. You worked hard anyway.” Another voice insisted (坚持), “But it’s wrong.” If he told the truth, his marks would drop to 92 and he would lose the first place. For a moment, he imagined going home and showing his parents the 95. They would be so proud. His father might even bring sweets to celebrate. But his heart felt heavy. He recalled a time when his father had returned extra change that a shopkeeper had given him by mistake. “Son,” he told Rohan that day, “wealth got without honesty never brings peace.” Rohan stared at his exam paper again. The number “95” no longer brought him excitement, only guilt (愧疚). Slowly, he rose, legs shaking. Rohan walked toward Mrs. Sharma’s desk, hands sweating. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Back at his seat with the corrected paper, Rohan was surprised by his classmates’ reaction. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 Rohan walked slowly toward Mrs. Sharma’s desk, hands sweating. He gathered all his courage and quietly told her about the unmarked calculation mistake in Question 7, voice trembling slightly. “I shouldn’t get these three extra points, ma’am,” he said, lowering his head gently in shame. Mrs. Sharma looked surprised first, then checked the paper carefully and nodded with a warm smile. She corrected the score to 92 in front of the whole class, praised Rohan sincerely in public, saying honesty was worth far more than any high score. Back at his seat with the corrected paper, Rohan was surprised by his classmates’ reaction. Instead of laughing at him for losing the first place, his best friend Aarav clapped first warmly and loudly, and soon all classmates joined in. All the unease and guilt in Rohan’s heart faded completely, replaced by great relief. When he told his father the whole thing after school, his father hugged him tightly and bought his favorite mango sweet snacks. Rohan truly understood that the honor of honesty is far more precious than any unfair high score. 词汇激活 行为类 ①鼓掌:clap/applaud/give a round of applause ②紧紧拥抱:hug him tightly/embrace him firmly 情绪类 ①羞愧:in shame/with embarrassment/feeling ashamed ②不安与愧疚:unease and guilt/anxiety and remorse 【点睛】【高分句型1】When he told his father the whole thing after school, his father hugged him tightly and bought his favorite mango sweet snacks. B It was a cold May morning when I received an email from an old friend inviting me to join a 10-day all-girls surfing trip. C Eating herbs and spices could be the key to preventing mosquitoes from biting, a study suggests. D Does your heart feel a warm pull every time you see ancient Chinese cultural relics (文物)? A.Digital Relics Carry History Forward B.Online Tours to See Palace Collections C.Global Efforts in Heritage Protection D.Advanced Tech for Museum Displays How to Develop a Lifelong Reading Habit Nowadays, a large number of high school students spend most of their spare time on digital products. Stick to it, and you will find yourself growing quietly day by day. A.Read as much as possible. B.Set a daily fixed reading time. C.You can review these notes whenever you have time. D.They enrich your knowledge without making you tired. E.It also deepens your understanding of the books you read. F.Most of this online information is shallow and forgettable. Chinese chopsticks are round on the eating end which symbolizes (象征) heaven, while the other end is square which symbolizes earth. This is because keeping enough food is 56 (great) concern than anything else.   It is important to note that chopsticks are used in many different cultures and there is no single standard for the use of chopsticks. Here are some customs 57 (connect) with chopsticks in China. Playing with chopsticks 58 (consider) bad manners. And chopsticks should not be placed 59 (vertical垂直的) in a bowl of rice or other food. Any stick-like object 60 (point) upward is similar to the incense (香) sticks that people use 61 offerings (供品) to their dead family members. It is also bad manners to tap chopsticks on 62 edge of one’s bowl, because in ancient China beggars often made this noise 63 (attract) attention.    In Chinese, “chopsticks” reads “kuai zi”, which means “to have sons soon”, so a newly-married couple will be very happy to accept chopsticks as 64 (they) wedding gift. 65 has already been found out is that using chopsticks improves one’s memory, increases finger dexterity (灵巧) and can be useful in learning and improving skills such as Chinese character printing and brush painting. Dear Peter, ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Yours, Li Hua 第二节(满分25分) 67. Rohan was not the kind of student who usually ranked first in class. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 试题 第3页(共8页) 试题 第4页(共8页) 试题 第1页(共8页) 试题 第2页(共8页) 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2026-2027学年高一英语必修第一册单元自测卷(山东专用) Unit 5·培优卷 学校:___________班级:___________姓名:___________分数:___________ (时间:120分钟,满分:150分) 注意事项: 1. 1.Who scored a goal? B It was a cold May morning when I received an email from an old friend inviting me to join a 10-day all-girls surfing trip. C Eating herbs and spices could be the key to preventing mosquitoes from biting, a study suggests. D Does your heart feel a warm pull every time you see ancient Chinese cultural relics (文物)? A.Digital Relics Carry History Forward B.Online Tours to See Palace Collections C.Global Efforts in Heritage Protection D.Advanced Tech for Museum Displays How to Develop a Lifelong Reading Habit Nowadays, a large number of high school students spend most of their spare time on digital products. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1 / 21 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
