On April 24,2025, at 5:17 p.m., the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center became very bright because of a big fire. The Long March 2F rocket took the Shenzhou-20 manned spacecraft into the sky. It flew fast towards the big universe. This day is very special. It's the 10th “China Space Day” and also the 55th birthday of the “Dongfanghong-1” satellite's launch.
Fifty-five years ago, on April 24, 1970, China sent its first man-made satellite,“Dongfanghong-1”, into space. At that time, things were hard. But Chinese scientists didn’t give up. They worked very hard and solved many difficult problems. They wanted people to see the satellite, so they put a big “skirt” on the rocket. The “Dongfanghong-1” played the song “Dongfanghong” in space. It started China’s space journey.
55 years later, the Shenzhou-20 spacecraft flew again. There were three astronauts in this mission(任务).Chen Dong was the leader. He had been to space twice. Chen Zhongrui and Wang Jie were new astronauts. This was their first space trip.
From “Dongfanghong-1” to Shenzhou-20, China’s space science has changed a lot. Before, we just sent satellites into space. Now, we build space stations and do scientific experiments there. The Shenzhou-20 has new technology. It can meet and join with the space station quickly. The batteries(电池) in it are better than old ones. They make the spacecraft lighter and work better.
But one thing never changes—the spirit of Chinese space scientists. They love their country and work hard. In the past, they made great things happen with few tools. Today, young scientists keep working hard too. China’s space science will go further and make more great achievements.
36. Why is April 24,2025 special?

B. China starts building a space station.
C. The “Dongfanghong-1” satellite is repaired.
D. It’s the first time China has sent a spacecraft.
37. What can we learn about Chen Dong?
A. He’s a new astronaut.
B. He built the space station.
C. He led the Shenzhou-20 mission.
D. He designed the “Dongfanghong-1” satellite.
38. How are the Shenzhou-20’s batteries different?
A. They cost more money.
B. They look bigger than old ones.
C. They make the spacecraft heavier.
D. They help the spacecraft work better.
39. What was a problem for scientists when sending “Dongfanghong-1”?
A. Finding enough money. B. Making the satellite be seen.
C. Making the satellite be heard. D. Choosing the right launch time.
40. What’s the main idea of the text?
A. The fun of space travel.
B. How to become an astronaut.

On April 24,2025, at 5:17 p.m., the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center became very bright because of a big fire. The Long March 2F rocket took the Shenzhou-20 manned spacecraft into the sky. It flew fast towards the big universe. This day is very special. It’s the 10th “China Space Day” and also the 55th birthday of the “Dongfanghong-1” satellite's launch.

3. 结尾升华,比喻点睛:先总结自己的进步(结果),再用“灯塔指引”的比喻将老师的形象从“教英语”升华为“人生引路人”,最后再次点题,首尾呼应,使情感自然收束。

The Most Inspiring Person in My Heart
There is an inspiring person in my heart. She is not a famous person, but she is just the person I want to thank the most. She is my English teacher.
She is a humorous person and always makes her classes active. So we all like her and her classes. She is also kind and treats us as her own children. At first, I had trouble learning English, so she told me some good ways to improve little by little and encouraged me to speak more in class.
It’s really nice of her to support and encourage me. I’ve made great progress in English with her help since then. She is like a lighthouse, guiding me to reach the coast of success. She is the most inspiring person in my heart.

40. What’s the main idea of the text?
A. The fun of space travel.
