Last week, our school organized a trip for senior one students to visit the Impressionist exhibition at the City Art Gallery.
Monet’s Blue Water Lilies, with its around 250 depictions of the same pond in varying lights, amazed me. Renoir’s Dance at Le Moulin de la Galette stood out for its vibrant brushwork capturing Parisian weekend joy.
Through shifting shadows, these works revealed how Impressionists turned ordinary scenes into timeless art.
Homework
Last week, our school organized a trip for senior one students to visit the Impressionist exhibition at the City Art Gallery.
Monet’s Blue Water Lilies showed a pond with rippling colors, like the water was gently moving. Renoir’s Dance at Le Moulin de la Galette used soft brushstrokes to paint people dancing under the sun.
These pictures weren’t clear like photos, but they felt alive! I learned that Impressionists paint how light feels, not just how things look. It makes me notice small beautiful moments every day.
