From a young age, I had difficulty with math. Words and stories were easy for me, but numbers seemed like a different language. My father patiently used pencils to show me problems. However, my mind always focused on the stories behind the numbers. Although he tried to help, he sometimes became frustrated. His critical words about my math skills slowly made me anxious and less confident.
In school, my problems increased. A geometry (几何) teacher’s sharp words and my low grades seemed to prove my fears were true. My mother found a tutor, a college student. Even his clear explanations left my mind soon after he was gone. What stayed was a strong fear of math, a feeling many people now call “math anxiety”.
Yet life continued. I got married, raised three sons, and had a teaching career. When I chose to work for a doctoral degree in education, I knew I would need statistics. This time, however, I dealt with it differently. I was not that unsure young girl anymore. I asked for help, joined weekend study groups, and did not let my old fears control me. When the professor asked if I had questions, I smiled and said yes — without feeling shy.
Looking back, I understand the strongest limits were never really mine; they were the echoes (回响) of other people’s doubts that I had let grow inside me. I did not become a medical doctor, but I earned a doctorate in a field I love. I managed to be a mother, a teacher, and a graduate student at the same time. This was not because I was naturally excellent at everything, but because I learned to believe in my own ability to learn and improve.
Now that I am older, I see that every challenge helped form who I am. If I could talk to my younger self, I would kindly tell her to trust her own voice earlier. Yet I regret nothing — every step, even the hard ones, led me to a life full of deep satisfaction and happiness.
24.What caused the author to find learning math challenging?
A.Lack of parental support. B.Poor teaching methods at school.
C.Inability to know any concepts. D.Anxiety and loss of confidence.
25.What does the author intend to express in paragraph 3?
A.Her successful marriage and family life. B.Her transformation of attitude and methods.
C.The importance of a supportive professor. D.The necessity for weekend study periods.
26.What helped the author succeed in multiple roles?
A.Natural talent. B.An easier career path.
C.Self-belief in learning. D.Complete independence.
27.What is the author’s attitude towards her past struggles now?
A.Grateful. B.Regretful. C.Worried. D.Excited.

Is this text AI-generated? That question crops up a lot these days. Computer software to flag AI-generated text exists. But most programs share one crucial weakness, says Jun Jang: no sense of style. His new software hopes to fill that gap.
Jun’s program takes note of a writer’s stylistic characteristics. It can then use those characteristics to check if another text was written by the same person. Jun says his project was motivated by seeing students admit using AI tools on classroom assignments.
But relying too much on these tools can erode someone’s creativity. It can also harm their ability to work out problems themselves, Jun says. And young people are most at risk. “I figured that by me making an attempt to solve this issue, I could help millions of teachers as well as maybe help kids become more creative and spark more innovation.” Jun says.
AI use for homework is not rare. The Turnitin program is an existing tool to check who wrote a piece of text. In the first year it was available, it analyzed more than 200 million student papers. Last year, it reported evidence that some 11 in every 100 papers it reviewed had used AI for at least a fifth of their text. Three in every 100 papers used AI for four-fifths of their content.
“That’s absolutely no surprise,” Jun says. Some forms of generative AI are powerful, game-changing technologies. “Using AI can be good for education, obviously,” he says, “But a lot of kids don’t use it properly.”
Since the release of some AI software, teachers increasingly have had to make hard calls. They must decide whether a student wrote an essay, or just asked a machine to write it. Wrongfully flagging some student’s work as cheating would decrease the student’s trust in their teacher.
Jun’s new program hopes to limit that.
28.What does Jun’s new software focuses on?
A.Text length. B.Content logic.
C.Word count. D.Writing style.
29.What does the underlined word “erode” in paragraph 3 probably mean?
A.Build. B.Strengthen.
C.Damage. D.Improve.
30.What does Jun Jang say about students using AI for assignments?
A.It is always harmful.
B.It can be improperly used.
C.It should be banned.
D.It promotes true innovation.
31.What does Jun’s new program aim to do?
A.Increase students’ writing speed.
B.Generate more essays for students.
C.Teach students to use AI properly.
D.Help teachers make right judgments.

A pioneering new study links satellite and brain imaging data to identify how environmental factors can affect mental health, cognition (认知) and brain development in young people.
The researchers used a dataset from the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study, the largest ongoing study on child brain development in the US. They analyzed satellite-based observations, including different types of land cover and land use and the amount of light captured by satellites at night. These data can be combined with neuroimaging (神经影像) and behavioral measures to provide insights.
The ABCD dataset provides a unique opportunity for a much deeper understanding of associations between a range of indicators of the complex physical urban environment and their impacts on mental health. This dataset also allows researchers to observe dynamic environmental changes and their impact on mental health over time, and identify specific interventions to boost mental well-being in various communities.
The study examined the use of land, considering factors such as light pollution and the number of buildings in an area, in order to understand the social and economic status of the area. The researchers found that places with more light at night and more buildings tended to have lower levels of parental education and household income, while areas with more trees and plants were linked to higher education and income.
“The findings highlight the importance of the urban environment to mental health. We see a critical window during childhood and adolescence (青春期) where environmental factors can shape future cognitive and behavioral development,” said Vince Calhoun, the study’s senior author and principal investigator.
By combining satellite data and brain imaging, researchers gain a deeper understanding of how environmental factors shape the cognitive and behavioral development of young people, which is of great significance for urban planning and public health policies.
32.How was this research conducted?
A.By performing data analysis. B.By referring to previous studies.
C.By recording behavior measures. D.By carrying out national surveys.
33.Which of the following will contribute to mental well-being?
A.Enhancing city street lighting.
B.Promoting community development.
C.Creating more green spaces in urban areas.
D.Increasing high-rise constructions in urban cores.
34.What can we learn about the study from Vince Calhoun’s words in paragraph 5?
A.Its aim. B.Its significance.
C.Its future direction. D.Its practical application.
35.What does the text mainly talk about?
A.The use of satellite imaging in urban planning.
B.The benefits of reducing light pollution in cities.
C.Urban environment’s influence on youth mental growth.
D.Parental education’s role in children’s mental well-being
第二节(共5小题, 每小题2. 5分, 共12. 5分)
阅读下面短文, 从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Ways of Studying and Learning Efficiently
Choose a quiet place to study without distractions. The more time you spend studying, the more you’ll learn and the better grades you’ll earn. 36 So remove all distractions (cell phones, television, loud/fast-paced music, and talkative friends/family members), to ensure a calm, focused environment.
Take short breaks from studying. 37 So plan to take a 10-minute break after each hour. If you get stuck on a certain topic, that’s a good time to take a little break so you can come back refreshed. Set a timer on your phone or another device so a short 10-minute breather doesn’t turn into 30 minutes of delay.
38 Reading books that challenge you can expand your vocabulary and comprehension skills, which is useful when a teacher assigns linguistically (语言方面的) difficult texts. If you are not already an active reader, start at your level and work your way up.
Study for quizzes and tests early. If you have a big test coming up, start studying a few days to a week before the test, or even when the test is announced. Make a study schedule, breaking up your time into sections, and stick to it. 39
Create mind maps of topics to help you learn new things. Mind-maps help you make connections between old and new information. 40 This practice is especially useful when you need to brainstorm ideas for big projects. To create a mind map, write the topic in the center, add lines that point in different directions, and write your ideas on top of the lines.
A.Remind yourself of your goals to stay motivated.
B.Read as much as you can to expand your vocabulary.
C.Your brain needs time to rest and digest information.
D.But the quality of your study time needs to be efficient.
E.These connections provide new contexts so you remember facts better.
F.Find time to study when most of your friends are doing something else.
G.Studying the night before a test doesn’t allow you to fully absorb information.

第二节(满分25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
67.It was a rainy Tuesday afternoon. Li Ming, a freshman in senior high school, sat alone in the empty classroom, staring at the test paper on his desk. The red marks on it seemed to be laughing at him. 52 out of 150. It was his third math test in a month, and his third failure.
He thought about his middle school days, when he used to be one of the top students in his class. His teachers always praised him, and his parents often showed off his grades to their friends. But now, everything had changed. The math problems were much harder. The other students seemed to understand everything so quickly. He felt like he was falling behind more and more each day.
Li Ming put his head down on the desk and closed his eyes. He remembered how excited he had been on the first day of high school. He had promised his mother that he would study hard and get into a good university. But now, that promise felt like a joke. Maybe he was just not smart enough for high school. Maybe he should give up his dream of becoming an engineer.
Just then, the classroom door opened. It was Mr. Zhang, his math teacher. Mr. Zhang was a kind man in his fifties, with glasses and a warm smile. He walked over to Li Ming and sat down beside him.
“I saw your paper, Li Ming,” Mr. Zhang said softly. “Do you want to tell me what’s going on?”
Li Ming hesitated for a moment. Then, all his feelings came out like a flood. He told Mr. Zhang about his frustration, his fear of falling behind, and how he had lost all his confidence.
Mr. Zhang listened patiently. When Li Ming finished, Mr. Zhang said, “Let me tell you a secret. When I was your age, I failed my math test too. In fact, I failed three times in a row.”
Li Ming looked up in surprise. “Really? But you are a math teacher now!”
注意:
续写词数应为 150 词左右(两段共计);

Dear Alice,
I am more than happy to receive your letter. Since starting senior one, I’ve had a busy but rewarding life. I have six classes a day, with math and Chinese being my key subjects. After class, I join the basketball club and practice with classmates, which relaxes me a lot.
Next, I plan to make a weekly study plan to strengthen my weak subjects like physics. I also want to read more English novels to improve my reading skills.
I expect to build a solid knowledge base, make more friends and become more self-disciplined. Hope to hear about your life soon!
Yours,
Li Hua

Mr. Zhang smiled and took out an old, yellow notebook from his bag. Inside were detailed error notes and daily learning plans he had made in high school. He told Li Ming that failure never meant incompetence, but rather revealed his weaknesses. Many high school students struggled with math at first, and progress always came gradually rather than overnight. He encouraged Li Ming to face his mistakes bravely, sort out confusing knowledge points, and never doubt his own ability. Warmth spread through Li Ming’s heart, and he regained his fading confidence.
From that day on, Li Ming did something different every day after school. He no longer felt frustrated or discouraged. Instead, he sorted out incorrect math questions carefully every day, reviewed key knowledge regularly and asked the teacher for help with difficult problems in time. Bit by bit, his math foundation became solid, and his problem-solving skills improved greatly. Months later, Li Ming achieved a satisfying score in the final math test. He finally understood that true growth lies in persisting through difficulties rather than fearing temporary failure.

【答案】17. A 18. C 19. B 20. A
【原文】Take care of your plants. They may scream if you treat them badly, according to an article published in a magazine in Cell. Plants can make sounds when they are stressed. Plants interact with insects and other animals all the time, and many of these insects and animals use sounds for communication, so it would be very inconvenient for plants not to use sounds at all. Lilach Hadany told BBC science focus. With this in mind, the research team started by recording plants sounds. They divided the plants into three groups. One group wasn’t watered for five days, another group had the stems cut off and the last group remained untouched. The microphones caught sounds at a frequency of 40 to 80 kilohertz from the first two groups. The sounds grew louder and louder during the five days of water stress. They then began to decline as the plants dried out. The researchers haven’t yet discovered how the sounds are made. After the experiment, the team gathered the data and made software that could tell how plants feel it could be useful for farmers in monitoring the conditions of their crops.

C.Worried. D.Excited.
【答案】24.D 25.B 26.C 27.A

根据第一段中“But most programs share one crucial weakness, says Jun Jang: no sense of style. His new software hopes to fill that gap.(Jun Jang说,大多数程序都有一个关键的弱点:没有风格感。他的新软件希望填补这一空白)”和第二段中“Jun’s program takes note of a writer’s stylistic characteristics.(Jun的程序会记录作者的风格特征)”可知,Jun的新软件重点关注的是写作风格,而非文本长度、内容逻辑或词数。故选D项。
29.词句猜测题。根据第三段中“But relying too much on these tools can erode someone’s creativity. It can also harm their ability to work out problems themselves, Jun says.(Jun说,但是过度依赖这些工具会erode一个人的创造力。它也会损害他们自己解决问题的能力)”可知,划线词erode与后文“harm(损害)”构成并列关系,二者语义相近。由此可推知“erode”意为“损害、破坏”,与C项“Damage”意思相近。故选C项。
30.细节理解题。根据第五段中““That’s absolutely no surprise,” Jun says. Some forms of generative AI are powerful, game-changing technologies. “Using AI can be good for education, obviously,” he says, “But a lot of kids don’t use it properly.”(“这完全在意料之中,”Jun表示。某些生成式AI确实是颠覆性的强大技术。“显然,将AI用于教育大有裨益,”他说道,“但许多孩子并未正确使用它。”)”可知,Jun Jang认为学生使用人工智能完成作业存在使用不当的问题。故选B项。
31.细节理解题。根据第六段中“They must decide whether a student wrote an essay, or just asked a machine to write it. Wrongfully flagging some student’s work as cheating would decrease the student’s trust in their teacher.(他们必须判断一篇文章是学生写的,还是只是让机器写的。错误地将学生的作业标记为作弊会降低学生对老师的信任)”和第七段“Jun’s new program hopes to limit that.(Jun的新软件希望能限制这种情况)”可知,Jun的新软件旨在帮助教师做出正确的判断,避免错误标记学生作业为作弊。故选D项。

D.Parental education’s role in children’s mental well-being
【答案】32.A 33.C 34.B 35.C

33.细节理解题。根据第四段中的“The researchers found that places with more light at night and more buildings tended to have lower levels of parental education and household income, while areas with more trees and plants were linked to higher education and income.(研究人员发现,夜间光照更充足、建筑物更多的地方,父母受教育程度和家庭收入往往较低,而树木和植物较多的地区则与较高的教育程度和收入相关)”以及第五段“The findings highlight the importance of the urban environment to mental health.(这些研究结果凸显了城市环境对心理健康的重要性)”可知,树木和植物较多的区域与较高的教育水平、收入相关,结合首段“A pioneering new study links satellite and brain imaging data to identify how environmental factors can affect mental health, cognition and brain development in young people.(一项开创性的新研究将卫星数据与脑部成像数据相结合,以确定环境因素如何影响年轻人的心理健康、认知能力和大脑发育)”可知,研究核心是城市环境影响心理健康,可推断绿色空间会促进心理健康。故选C。
34.推理判断题。根据第五段中的“The findings highlight the importance of the urban environment to mental health. We see a critical window during childhood and adolescence where environmental factors can shape future cognitive and behavioral development,(这些研究结果凸显了城市环境对心理健康的重要性。我们发现,在儿童期和青少年时期存在一个关键时期,在此期间环境因素能够塑造未来的认知和行为发展)”可知,我们可以从Vince Calhoun说的话中领悟该研究的核心意义——不仅凸显了城市环境对心理健康的重要性,还指出了儿童期和青少年期是环境塑造认知与行为发展的关键窗口期。故选B。
35.主旨大意题。根据首段“A pioneering new study links satellite and brain imaging data to identify how environmental factors can affect mental health, cognition and brain development in young people.(一项开创性的新研究将卫星数据与脑部成像数据相结合,以确定环境因素如何影响年轻人的心理健康、认知能力和大脑发育)”和末段“By combining satellite data and brain imaging, researchers gain a deeper understanding of how environmental factors shape the cognitive and behavioral development of young people, which is of great significance for urban planning and public health policies.(通过结合卫星数据和脑部成像,研究人员对环境因素如何塑造年轻人的认知和行为发展有了更深入的了解,这对城市规划和公共卫生政策具有重要意义)”可知,本文旨在阐述城市环境对青少年心理成长的影响。故选C。

注意:
续写词数应为 150 词左右(两段共计);
请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Paragraph 1:
Mr. Zhang smiled and took out an old, yellow notebook from his bag.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Paragraph 2:
From that day on, Li Ming did something different every day after school.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】

"That's absolutely no surprise,"Jun says. Some forms of generative AI are powerful,game-changing

Since the release of some AI software, teachers increasingly have had to make hard calls. They must decide

A pioneering new study links satellite and brain imaging data to identify how environmental factors can
affect mental health, cognition (and brain development in young people.
The researchers used a dataset from the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD)Study, the
largest ongoing study on child brain development in the US.They analyzed satellite-based observations, including
different types of land cover and land use and the amount of light captured by satellites at night. These data can be
combined with neuroimaging(神经影像)and behavioral measures to provide insights..
The ABCD dataset provides a unique opportunity for a much deeper understanding of associations between

a range of indicators of the complex physical urban environment and their impacts on mental health. This dataset
also allows researchers to observe dynamic environmental changes and their impact on mental health over time,
and identify specific interventions to boost mental well-being in various communities.
The study examined the use of land, considering factors such as light pollution and the number of buildings
in an area,in order to understand the social and economic status of the area. The researchers found that places with
more light at night and more buildings tended to have lower levels of parental education and household income,
while areas with more trees and plants were linked to higher education and income.
"The findings highlight the importance of the urban environment to mental health. We see a critical window
during childhood and adolescence where environmental factors can shape future cognitive and
behavioral development,"said Vince Calhoun, the study's senior author and principal investigator.
By combining satellite data and brain imaging, researchers gain a deeper understanding of how
environmental factors shape the cognitive and behavioral development of young people, which is of great
significance for urban planning and public health policies.
34.What can we learn about the study from Vince Calhoun's words in paragraph 5?
A.Its aim
B.Its significance
C.Its future direction.
D.Its practical application.
35.What does the text mainly talk about?
A.The use of satellite imaging in urban planning.
B.The benefits of reducing light pollution in cities.
C.Urban environment's influence on youth mental growth.
D.Parental education's role in children's mental well-being

Ways of Studying and Learning Efficiently
Choose a quiet place to study without distractions. The more time you spend studying, the more you'll learn
and the better grades you'll earn.36 So remove all distractions (cell phones,television,loud/fast-paced
music,and talkative friends/family members),to ensure a calm,focused environment.
Take short breaks from studying.37 So plan to take a 10-minute break after each hour.If you get
stuck on a certain topic, that's a good time to take a little break so you can come back refreshed.Set a timer on
your phone or another device so a short 10-minute breather doesn't turn into 30 minutes of delay.

He thought about his middle school days, when he used to be one of the top students in his class. His
teachers always praised him,and his parents often showed off his grades to their friends. But now, everything had
changed. The math problems were much harder. The other students seemed to understand everything so quickly.
He felt like he was falling behind more and more each day.
Li Ming put his head down on the desk and closed his eyes.He remembered how excited he had been on
the first day of high school. He had promised his mother that he would study hard and get into a good university.
But now, that promise felt like a joke.Maybe he was just not smart enough for high school.Maybe he should give
up his dream of becoming an engineer.
Just then, the classroom door opened. It was Mr.Zhang, his math teacher.Mr.Zhang was a kind man in his
fifties, with glasses and a warm smile. He walked over to Li Ming and sat down beside him.
