A. if; will get B. whether; get C. that; got D. that; has got

第二空:as soon as“一……

get up“起床”、take place“发生”、play with“和……
固定搭配by+doing sth. for“为了”、with“用(工具)”、in“在……
固定搭配provide sb. with sth.
固定搭配manage to do sth.

On September 3,2025, Tian’anmen Square witnessed (见证) a big military parade (阅兵) to mark the 80th anniversary (周年) of victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (抗日战争) and the World Anti-Fascist War (世界反法西斯战争). Thousands of people gathered early to watch this historic event. The event showed that we hope for peace and we are powerful enough to keep it for the world. It began with a serious ceremony. President Xi reviewed the troops and gave a speech. Behind him stood big buildings shaped like the Great Wall, with the numbers“1945” and“2025”, which stood for the long journey from victory to modern progress. More than 20 foreign leaders attended the event, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. That showed international support for China’s efforts to remember history and develop peace.
China’s newest military (军事的) progress was shown in the parade. More than 10,000 soldiers walked in very tidy lines, and after them came hundreds of modern weapons (武器). These included things such as unmanned combat vehicles, super-fast missiles (导弹), and tools for cyber warfare. Many weapons were shown publicly for the first time ever, such as systems to stop drones (无人机) and things for fighting under the sea.
We tried to make ourselves stronger because we have experienced hardships (苦难). Our country fought for 14 years to stop Japan’s invasion (入侵). Over 35 million Chinese soldiers and common people lost their lives. 3,840 factories—almost half of factories around China were destroyed (摧毁). 2.74 million books were lost, and many of them were lost for ever. The war caused losses of nearly 600 billion yuan. Now, the parade let the world know about these losses and showed China’s current (当前的) role as a global peacekeeper.
The parade ended with a flight show of more than 100 planes. President Xi’s speech stressed again that China’s promise is to keep world peace and its goals for becoming modern. As the country moves to become a fully modern society by 2035, the event showed both its pride in history and its hopes for the future.
29. What did the parade mark?
A. The 80th anniversary of victory in World War I.

C. The 80th anniversary of victory in World War II.
D. The 100th anniversary of the Communist Party (共产党) of China.

A. To show support. B. To join the parade.
C. To buy weapons. D. To watch the flight show.

A. By telling stories. B. By raising questions.

根据第一段“to mark the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War”可推知阅兵是为了纪念中国人民抗日战争暨世界反法西斯战争胜利80周年,世界反法西斯战争即第二次世界大战。

Since the astronauts (宇航员) stay in space for a longer and longer time, carrying all food to space becomes more and more difficult. So, “space planting” becomes very important. The Shenzhou XI astronauts succeeded in growing lettuce (生菜) in the space station, from sowing to harvest. After that, the “space farmers” have successfully grown wheat, rice. The most recent visitors to China’s space station, the Shenzhou XVII astronauts are now growing lettuce and cherry tomatoes. These “space gardens” not only provide astronauts with food but also more oxygen (氧气) and water.
Now the astronauts want to step out of the space station and find out the possibility of growing plants on the moon.
A new study by Chinese scientists has found that bacteria (细菌) in soil (土壤) from Earth could offer a solution. Researchers from China Agricultural University found out three kinds of bacteria from the Earth soil were good for plant growth.
They then grew model plants in the lunar soil with the bacteria in the space station. They found that after six days of growth, the plants had longer stems (茎) and roots than those grown without the bacteria. The plants also had heavier and wider leaves after 24 days of growth. Besides, levels of chlorophyll (叶绿素) in the model plants were much higher than those grown without bacteria.
“The study results are very important for future long-term stays on the moon,” the study’s lead researcher, Sun Zhencai said. Bacteria in the Earth soil may help astronauts make better use of lunar resources, such as creating lunar greenhouses. In their following research, they will work closely with astronauts and hope to grow crops like rice, corn and potatoes with real lunar soil samples.
33. What can we learn from the first paragraph?
A. Wheat is the first plant to grow in China’s space station.
B. Space gardens provide astronauts with food, light and water.
C. Chinese astronauts have made some progress in space planting.
D. Chinese astronauts have grown some plants on the moon successfully.
34. What could make it possible to grow plants on the moon?
A. Bacteria from the Earth soil. B. Bacteria from the lunar soil.
C. Earth soil. D. Lunar soil.
35. Paragraph 4 tells us lunar soil with the bacteria can _________.
A. make the plants’ stems shorter B. make the plants grow better
C. make the plants’ leaves lighter D. make levels of chlorophyll lower
36. What does the underlined word “they” in the last paragraph refer to (指的是)?
A. Researchers. B. Astronauts. C. Visitors. D. Farmers.

It was a week before I saw Captain Nemo again. Every morning, I noticed fresh air coming into the rooms and I knew that the Nautilus came to the top. I would go out and see the sunrise.
Then I received a note from Captain Nemo. He invited me and my friends to go hunting with him in the forests of Crespo Island. Ned was excited because he thought there he could find a chance to run away. When I saw Captain Nemo the next day, I asked him why he was so interested in Crespo Island. “I thought you preferred the sea.”
“I do,” replied the Captain. “But these forests are under the sea.” During breakfast, he explained that he had made diving suits with special air tanks before he invited us. These tanks would allow us to stay under the water for ten hours. He had also made lights that worked in electric batteries (电池). When Ned realized that we were not going onto land for our hunting trip, he decided not to come at all.
Conseil and I put on our diving suits, and so did Captain Nemo and one of his men. We stepped into a room and closed the door. The room was filled with water, and another door opened. We went through it, and we were on the sea floor. It was an amazing experience that I would never forget.
We were about ten metres under the water. The light from the sun reached us. Everything looked very colourful. We walked over the fine sand and enjoyed the colours of the shells, fish and seaweed. Conseil and I followed Captain Nemo and his man as they crossed a large grassy area. We were going deeper and deeper.
As we were a hundred metres under the water, we could still see quite well. Captain Nemo stopped and pointed to some dark shapes. This was the forest. The “trees” there were giant seaweed, and all their branches (枝杈) were vertical (垂直的). We could not stop looking at them. Fish swam around the branches like birds in a forest. Small bushes grew under the large seaweed trees.

第三段指出:“When Ned realized that we were not going onto land for our hunting trip, he decided not to come at all.”,说明尼德·兰最终拒绝参加海底探险,因此“尼德、尼摩船长和我会一起去探险”不符合原文,故选B。
事件顺序:d(Captain Nemo为旅行做准备,制作潜水服和灯)→ c(Captain Nemo邀请作者去探索森林)→ a(穿过门到达海底)→ e(看到彩色贝壳,穿过草地)→ b(到达海底森林)。
第四段及第六段指出:“It was an amazing experience that I would never forget.”“We could not stop looking at them.”,并以“Fish swam around the branches like birds in a forest”描写海底森林的美景,直接体现“我”对海底森林的惊叹(amazed)之情。

Remember when you were a little child trying to learn to walk?
First, you had to learn how to balance yourself and stand. You fell down, and then got up. You laughed sometimes and cried at other times. After much practice, you finally learned how to balance yourself. You got much joy from this power of standing. Then you stood everywhere you could. It was a happy time—you did it!
Now, the next step—walking. You saw others do it. It didn’t look that hard—just move your legs while you were standing. Wrong—more difficult than you ever imagined. But after you tried again and again, you understood how to walk.
If people around you found you walking, they cheered, “Oh, look at what the kid is doing.” This encouraged you! But look back on those days when you were the little child—how many times did you try when no one was watching, or when no one was cheering? You couldn’t wait for someone to encourage you to take the next steps. You learned how to encourage yourself.
So, keep trying and encouraging yourself as you learned to walk if you want to succeed in doing something.
64. When you started to learn to walk, what would you do first?

Three hours later, we lay down to rest. I was not hungry, but very sleepy. We all slept, and when we woke up, we explored further.
