(1)What plants can you see in the pictures? (2)How do you usually eat them? Step 2 Work on Activity 1 1.Have students listen to the opening of the vlog and think about what Jason is talking about. 2.Let students look at the part Phonetics in use and explain how to pronounce /aɪ/,/eɪ/,/ɔɪ/ to students. 3.Play related pronunciation videos for students to watch and learn. 4.Have students read related words and correct their pronunciation. Step 3 Work on Activity 2 1.Have students listen again and complete Jason’s notes for the vlog. 2.Check the answers together. 3.Listen again and then invite some students to read the completed notes. 4.Let students look at the part Learning to learn and tell them to pay attention to words and expressions like nearly,about,over,and more/less than when listening for numbers. Step 4 Work on Activity 3 1.Have students listen to the conversation and complete the sentences. 2.Listen again and talk about how people ask for and give permission. 3.Pay attention to the part Learning to learn and explain how to ask for and give permission in a polite way.
