In the 2022‒2024 season, U.S. beekeepers reported an astonishing decline of their colonies, which was driven by poor nutrition and pesticides. Dr. Ramsey, a scientific expert, believes bees need a new “narrative” — a fresh story that helps the world understand their importance. Through creative methods like songs and documentaries, he aims to “reboot” public understanding of these important pollinators (传粉者).
Interestingly, Ramsey’s passion for insects started with a deep fear. As a child, he was so afraid of them that he refused to play in the grass. His fear even affected his sleep and he would require his father to “hunt” imaginary monsters (怪兽) in his room before he could finally close his eyes.
His parents eventually intervened with a life-changing principle: People fear what they don’t understand. They encouraged him to learn about bugs through books. This was a turning point. His fear quickly turned into fascination, and by age seven, he declared his dream of becoming an insect scientist. He realized that insects were not monsters but fascinating creatures with complex lives.
As he grew, Ramsey’s curiosity shifted toward how different species interact. Today, he is crazy about honey bee parasites, which are small organisms that live on bees and harm them. His work is so influential that he received the Wayfinder Award in 2025 for leading a new age of exploration in this field.
Ramsey’s journey from a terrified child to a leading explorer shows the power of knowledge. “I have a different way of looking at the world that causes me to ask different questions,” he says. By changing how we see bees, Ramsey is not just saving an insect; he is protecting the future of our ecosystem.
24.Why does Ramsey use creative media in his work?
A.To display his talents. B.To track bees’ colony losses.
C.To record bees’ behavior. D.To reshape bees’ public image.
25.What can we know about Ramsey from paragraph 2?
A.He enjoyed playing in the grass. B.He was consumed by fear of insects.
C.He was brave enough to hunt insects. D.He had a strong curiosity about nature.
26.What made Ramsey crazy about insects?
A.His parents’ intervention. B.Insects’ complex lives.
C.Knowledge of insects. D.His dream of being a scientist.
27.What is the best title for the text?
A.Journey to Overcome Fear B.Bees: from Dying Out to Surviving
C.Bee Colonies: from Loss to Recovery D.Transformation from Hater into Protector

Typical refrigeration (冷藏) systems transport heat away from a space via a fluid (流体) that absorbs heat as it turns into a gas, which is then transported through a closed tube and changed back into a liquid. Effective as this process is, some of the choice materials we use as refrigerants are particularly unfriendly to the environment.
There is, however, more than one way a substance can be forced to take in and give out heat energy. The ionocaloric cycle, a method developed by researchers from the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the University of California, Berkeley, takes advantage of the way that energy is stored or released when a material changes state.
Raise the temperature on a block of ice and it’ll melt. What we might not see so easily is that melting absorbs heat from its surroundings, effectively cooling it. One way to force ice to melt without needing to turn up the heat is to add a few charged particles, or ions (离子). Putting salt on roads to prevent ice from forming is a common example of this in action. The ionocaloric cycle also uses salt to change a fluid’s state and cool its surroundings.
The researchers modeled the theory of this cycle to show how it could potentially compete with, or even improve upon, the efficiency of refrigerants in use today. A current running through the system would move the ions in it, shifting the material’s melting point to change temperature. “There are three things we’re trying to balance: the GWP (global warming potential) of the refrigerant, energy efficiency, and the cost of the equipment itself,” said engineer Ravi Prasher from the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. “From the first try, our data looks very promising on all three of these aspects.” The systems currently used in refrigeration processes rely on gases that have high GWP.
Now, the researchers need to get the technology out of the lab and into practical systems that can be used commercially and that scale up without any issues. Eventually, these systems could be used for heating as well as cooling. Ongoing investigations are trying different salts to see which combinations might be most effective at drawing heat from a space.
28.How does the article introduce its topic in paragraph 1?
A.By introducing the process of global warming.
B.By showing the effectiveness of current process.
C.By describing limitation of existing refrigeration.
D.By inspiring actions of environmental protection.
29.What is mainly talked about in paragraph 3?
A.How the ionocaloric cycle functions.
B.Why salt can prevent road icing.
C.What the chemical composition of ions is.
D.What a more effective ice-melting method is.
30.What did Prasher think of the initial test result?
A.It remains understudied. B.It proves unpredictable.
C.It shows great potential. D.It needs more investment.
31.What can be inferred about the research in the last paragraph?
A.Market sales have begun. B.Mass production is coming.
C.Investigation has completed. D.Further Testing is necessary.

We all love our parents and turn to them when we’re in need, but would you like them to hear the conversations you have with your friends in the school playground or lunch queue? Social networking sites have become virtual extensions of the school hallways, so would you add your parents as “friends” and allow them to view your online activities and conversations with friends?
In the past the generation gap included a technology gap, where children were up to date with the latest technology and parents were left behind, content to continue their day-to-day lives as they always had because they had no need to be tech-savvy (精通技术的). However, more and more parents are beginning to realize just how important social networks are in their lives. This realization has given many parents the motivation to educate themselves about social networking sites.
These days many people are attracted to social networking sites because they can choose who they have around them; there’s also a certain amount of control over privacy that we don’t get in real life. Sometimes we feel that privacy is violated when we must accept a “friend” request from a parent or family member.
It’s a difficult choice whether or not to allow a parent to become a part of our online lives. On the one hand we don’t want to “reject” their request because that might hurt their feelings or make them feel you have something to hide. On the other hand, if you do accept, then you could have a sense of being watched and no longer feel free to comment or communicate the way you did before.
A recent survey suggested that parents shouldn’t take it personally if their child ignores their request: “When a teen ignores a parent’s friend request, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they are hiding something, but it could mean that this is one part of their life where they want to exert(运用) their independence.”
Perhaps talking with parents and giving explanations would help soften the blow when you do choose not to add them to your friends list.
32.Why do many parents want to learn about social networking sites?
A.Because they are eager to explore technologies.
B.Because they start to realize their importance.
C.Because they feel bored with their daily life.
D.Because they want to watch their children.
33.What might be the reason for teens to reject their parents’ friend request?
A.They are controlled by their parents. B.Their choice of friends is removed.
C.They don’t want to teach their parents. D.Their privacy cannot be guaranteed.
34.Why is the survey mentioned in the passage?
A.To comfort parents. B.To warn parents.
C.To criticize parents. D.To challenge parents.
35.What is most likely to be talked about next?
A.How to bridge the generation gap.
B.How to make friends on social networks.
C.How to explain to parents about the rejection.
D.How to use the social networking sites wisely.

第二节(满分25分)
67.阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Stricken by poliomyelitis (小儿麻痹症) at a young age, I suffered a disabled leg and ugly teeth. These flaws left me extremely shy and insecure. I kept to myself and rarely interacted with others. Though stuck in self-doubt, I was dearly loved by my father, who always comforted and encouraged me patiently.
One warm spring, my father brought home several young trees and asked each child to plant one. As luck would have it, I got the weakest of them all, a thin, dying little tree with yellowish leaves. “Whoever grows the strongest tree — or whoever tries their best — will get a wonderful gift,” my father promised with a gentle smile.
I also hoped to win the gift, yet low self-esteem weighed heavily on me. Looking at my pitiful little tree, I couldn’t help seeing myself in it — weak, flawed, and destined to be left behind. The thought only deepened my despair. “Even if I tried, this tree would never stand a chance.” I muttered bitterly. Convinced I would end up failing, I refused to make any effort. I planted the tree carelessly and watered it just twice. Later, I stayed away from the corner on purpose. My brothers tended their trees devotedly to compete for the prize, while I pretended not to care.
Weeks slipped past before I knew it. Out of a strange urge, I plucked up courage to check on my tree. Much to my surprise, the ignored little tree grew far stronger than my brothers’. My father said gently, “See? This little tree was the weakest of all, yet it has become the strongest. Never judge a life by how it starts.” Then he handed me the promised gift.
For the first time, a ray of hope welled up inside me. One quiet moonlit night, unable to fall asleep, I resolved to go outside and look after my tree.
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Stepping to the yard corner, I saw someone familiar tending my tree.

C

1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Stepping to the yard corner, I saw someone familiar tending my tree.

C.He was brave enough to hunt insects. D.He had a strong curiosity about nature.
26.What made Ramsey crazy about insects?
A.His parents’ intervention. B.Insects’ complex lives.
C.Knowledge of insects. D.His dream of being a scientist.
27.What is the best title for the text?
A.Journey to Overcome Fear B.Bees: from Dying Out to Surviving
C.Bee Colonies: from Loss to Recovery D.Transformation from Hater into Protector

C

【导语】文章介绍了传统制冷系统存在环保缺陷,介绍新型离子热循环制冷技术的工作原理、优势,同时说明该技术仍处在实验室阶段,有待进一步研发与商用落地。
【详解】28.推理判断题。根据第一段“Typical refrigeration (冷藏) systems transport heat away from a space via a fluid (流体) that absorbs heat as it turns into a gas, which is then transported through a closed tube and changed back into a liquid. Effective as this process is, some of the choice materials we use as refrigerants are particularly unfriendly to the environment. (传统冷藏系统通过一种流体把热量转移出空间:流体吸收热量变为气体,气体经由封闭管道输送,再重新变回液体。尽管这套流程十分有效,但我们选用的部分制冷剂材料对环境格外不友好。)”并结合全文可知,本段先介绍了传统冷藏系统的工作原理,紧接着转折指出这类系统所用的制冷剂很多都对环境极不友好,也就是点明现有制冷方式的缺陷,以此引出下文的新型制冷技术话题。
29.主旨大意题。根据第三段“Raise the temperature on a block of ice and it’ll melt.

【答案】32.B 33.D 34.A 35.C

In the past few years, the category 57 (balloon) into a multibillion-yuan industry, fueled by busier lifestyles, advances in processing and official support that has turned 58 began as a consumer trend into a strategic priority.
59 (analyst) expect the market’s value to top 749 billion yuan by 2026. Investors have piled in: from food processors to cold-chain logistics (物流) providers and the latter 60 (be) critical. 64.

1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Stepping to the yard corner, I saw someone familiar tending my tree.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
From that night on, my life was completely changed.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】 Stepping to the yard corner, I saw someone familiar tending my tree. It was my father, his tall figure bathed in the soft moonlight. He knelt down gently, carefully removing weeds and loosening the soil around the tree with great patience. At that moment, everything clicked — no wonder the weak, dying little tree I had abandoned had thrived so unexpectedly. While I was trapped in self-pity and consumed by my flaws, my father had been silently guarding both the tree and my fragile confidence. Tears blurred my vision, mixed with deep regret and warm gratitude for his silent love.
From that night on, my life was completely changed. I stopped hiding from my imperfections or believing I was destined to fail. Instead of yielding to a flawed start, I chose to embrace life with courage and optimism. I began to take good care of the tree every day and actively reached out to communicate and bond with others. As the little tree grew steadily taller and firmer, I also gained solid confidence and inner strength. Looking back, I came to realize a disadvantaged beginning couldn’t define future growth, and above all, love is the best nourishment of life.
