Do you like dancing? A lot of people take up dancing as an after-school hobby. In fact, people think dancing has been one of the best ways to fight bad feelings in recent years.
When you dance, you move your body to different kinds of music, which helps your body make a lot of endorphins (内啡肽), and that can make you feel relaxed and happy.
Listening to music or doing sports can make us happy, but if we do them together, we will feel even happier. In a study, some German scientists tested several groups of patients in three different situations: dancing to music, listening to music, riding bikes without music. The results showed that the first group was the happiest.
Dancing can bring people together too. Whether it’s a tango or any other Latin-American dance, people need to move with others. This can improve their sense of social bonding, according to a scientific foundation (基金会).
Dancing also helps people let go of bad feelings. Studies have found that depression often has to do with sadness about the past or worries about the future. However, dancing helps people focus more on the present moment and free their mind for a while.
Lauren Helper, a social worker, said that if people enjoy music of any kind, dancing can be a helpful way to reduce stress. She also said that dancing can be done in many ways, from moving around the house with a song to going out dancing with friends. “The important part is that it is fun.”
19.How does the writer start the passage?
A.He tells a story. B.He gives an example.
C.He asks a question. D.He tells the result of a study.

My Project: Learn and Protect Against Natural Disasters
My name is Li Ming. I am in Grade 8. Last month, our English teacher asked us to do a project called “Learn and Protect Against Natural Disasters”. Our goal was to find out useful safety tips for natural disasters and share them with our classmates to help everyone keep safe.
At first, I knew little about how to protect myself during floods or storms. For the project, I joined a group of four classmates. We searched for safety information online, read disaster safety books and even asked a rescue worker for advice. We found that staying calm and preparing emergency supplies in advance are the most important things when facing natural disasters.
We also interviewed our neighbors about their experiences of dealing with small storms. Many of them told us that they used to be nervous during disasters, but now they know how to stay safe by following safety tips. We decided to make a safety video with our collected tips, like “Stay away from windows during storms” and “Prepare a first-aid kit at home”.
When we showed our video to the class, our teacher and classmates praised us. She said our project was practical and helpful. Through this project, I learned a lot about disaster safety and realized that everyone should master basic safety skills. I hope more people can learn these tips and protect themselves and their families.

A.Protect Our Homes. B.Learn and Protect Against Natural Disasters.
C.My Favorite Safety Tips. D.A Trip to the Shelter.

25.What did Li Ming’s group find out about facing natural disasters?
A.It’s impossible to keep safe. B.Staying calm and preparing supplies are important.
C.All disasters are very dangerous. D.We can only rely on rescue workers.
26.What did Li Ming learn from the project?
A.Natural disasters are not very dangerous. B.Making a video is boring and helpless.
C.Everyone should master basic disaster safety skills. D.Emergency supplies are useless.

When you eat at a nice restaurant in a different country, it’s important to know some table manners. Different cultures have different ways of eating. For example, in China, people often use chopsticks to eat. But in India, some people eat with their hands. However, in formal restaurants, you should always use utensils (餐具) unless you are told it’s okay to use your hands.
It can be confusing to know all the rules. Just remember to sit up straight and keep your elbows off the table. Don’t reach over someone else’s plate. That might be considered impolite. If you need something, ask politely. Also, remember to use serving chopsticks when you share food with others. This shows respect.
In some places, making noise while eating is okay, but in others, it is not. So, try to watch what others are doing. If you are not sure what to do, just follow the local people. Being polite and respectful is the key to enjoying a meal in a new culture.
By learning these small things, you can avoid feeling that your behaviour is improper and show that you care about other cultures. So next time you eat out, remember these tips and enjoy your meal!

One of the most famous earthquakes in history happened in Tangshan, China, in 1976. It was a terrible disaster that no one expected. On the night of July 28th, while people were sleeping, the ground suddenly began to shake hard. Then, buildings fell and roads broke. It was too quick and too harmful. More than 242,000 people lost their lives and 164,000 were badly hurt in that earthquake. People from all over China lent a helping hand.
Soldiers worked day and night to save people. Doctors and nurses also came to help. And later everyone took part in rebuilding the city.
The earthquake taught us how important it is to build strong houses to prepare for disasters. Today, Tangshan is beautiful, but people will never forget that night and everyone’s courage.

根据后文“Since Haina had promised to buy the first thing”可知,父亲建议买第一样东西,应用first。

as long as“只要”、so that“以便”、only if“只有”逻辑不通。

In March 2026, our school organized a voluntary activity to learn from Lei Feng. We went to a nearby community to do some labor.
During the half-day service, I helped clean the streets and picked up litter. I also visited some elderly people who lived alone. I talked with them and helped them clean their rooms. Although I was tired, I felt very happy.
Through this activity, I realized the value of labor. I understood the spirit of “dedication, friendship, mutual‑aid and progress” better. It was meaningful. I hope more students can join us to help others and make our world better.
