(2026·四川成都·中考真题)I couldn’t have a happy summer holiday anymore! No sleeping in. No games. No Internet. My parents gave me a big speech. And then they sent me to a classical music camp. Help!
The first day was scary. A boy asked about my favorite composer (作曲家). Composer? I didn’t know any. Everyone played classical music, but I played electronic music from my computer. It was an electronic remix (a mix of different songs) I made. Nobody said anything. The teacher, John, said it was good, but I wasn’t sure.
The next week was worse. I tried every instrument. The violin sounded like a crying cat. The tuba made no sound. The kids laughed at me. I didn’t think I’d survive.
But something changed. John played a piece of music for me. It was amazing. “Beethoven (贝多芬),” he said. He suggested doing a remix of a classical Beethoven piece and presenting it to the other kids. I accepted the challenge.
When I played my remix, I was nervous. What if the kids said that boy wasn’t playing “real music”? What a surprise! They liked it.
With their help, I chose another Beethoven piece. We decided to remix it together. During the following two weeks, we practiced every day. How crazy! One kid even gave me a piano lesson.
On the last day, we performed for the parents. I started the remix. The other kids joined in. When we finished, everyone cheered. Dad was smiling. Mom was crying. Beethoven and electronic music were a great match!
1.Which is closest in meaning to “a big speech” in Paragraph 1?

4.What made the kids accept the writer at last?

5.What can be a suitable title for this text?

【答案】1.B 2.C 3.A 4.B 5.C
【导语】本文讲述了“我”被父母送去古典音乐营,从一开始格格不入,到在老师的帮助下,将电子混音与贝多芬的音乐结合,最终被大家接纳并收获友谊的故事。
【详解】1.原文第一段提到“My parents gave me a big speech. And then they sent me to a classical music camp.”,结合前文“我”失去假期娱乐(No sleeping in. No games. No Internet.)的背景,父母的“big speech”是一次严肃的谈话,目的是说服“我”去音乐营。
2.原文第二段提到“Everyone played classical music, but I played electronic music from my computer. Composer? I didn’t know any.”,说明其他孩子都熟悉古典音乐,而作者只懂电子音乐,对古典作曲家一无所知,因此感到自己与他人格格不入。
3.原文第二、四段提到“The teacher, John, said it was good, but I wasn’t sure.”“He suggested doing a remix of a classical Beethoven piece and presenting it to the other kids.”,说明老师John不仅肯定了“我”的电子音乐,还主动提供建议,帮助“我”找到融入集体的方式,可见他非常友善。
4.原文第五、六段提到“When I played my remix, I was nervous...They liked it. With their help, I chose another Beethoven piece. We decided to remix it together.”,可知大家对“我”的混音作品的喜爱,以及后续一起合作做混音的经历,说明是对音乐的共同热爱让孩子们接纳了“我”。
5.原文第四、七段提到“He suggested doing a remix of a classical Beethoven piece and presenting it to the other kids.”“Beethoven and electronic music were a great match!”,可知全文核心是“我”将电子混音与贝多芬古典音乐结合并获得成功的故事,C选项“When Beethoven meets a remix”最能概括文章主题。

(2026·四川自贡·中考真题)In a small village lived Wang Ming, a 16-year-old boy from a poor family. He had a dream to become a great runner.
Wang Ming wasn’t the fastest, nor the smartest in the school. But he had one silent power. For two years, he kept training every morning. And he took part in every local race but always came second or third. His friends laughed at him and said he was wasting his time. Yet, he kept running day after day.
One rainy day, Wang Ming fell over and hurt his foot. Tired and depressed, he sat under a tree, crying sadly. An old farmer asked why. After hearing his story, the farmer pointed to a bamboo forest. “Do you know how long it takes bamboo to grow? For five years, nothing shows above the ground. But during that time, the roots (根) are growing strong. Then, it shoots up nearly 80 feet tall before you know it. That’s the power of never giving up, son. You should be like bamboo.”
One year later came a big race. Wang Ming crossed the finishing line first and won the following races. He finally achieved his dream to be a top runner.

(2026·四川泸州·中考真题)
Chao Ziyi and Chao Ziwei are brothers from Henan province. More than 20 years ago, making large bowls was their job. If someone told them they would one day become artists, they would just laugh at it as a joke. But you can never predict what life will bring you next. Today, they both teach at a university, and their works are shown at home and abroad.
They learned every step of making ceramics (陶瓷) on their own from a young age, and this gave them something even more valuable — a deep love for their material. Artists and teachers later led them into the world of ceramic art. Although receiving no professional art training, the brothers gradually developed a style — using ceramics, an old Chinese material, to express modern ideas and personal memories.
Their most fascinating artwork is a huge ceramic tractor (拖拉机) called Dongfanghong. It is over two meters long and weighs two tons, with no support inside. Different thicknesses and thin parts let the clay break easily. They worked day and night, trying special materials and changing the heat levels again and again. The artwork finally looked like real metal through their years of efforts.
Thanks to their efforts and new ideas, the brothers have won many prizes, and their artworks are kept in famous museums. Their story shows us that with patience and strong mind, even the most common journey can lead to something amazing.

(2026·四川成都·二模)A few weeks before Thanksgiving, I sent my college son a simple text. “Are you staying at school for the break, or coming home? And if you’re back, when? Let me know your plans! Love you!!!” He replied “Sure.” Sure? Sure to what? Sure you’re coming home? Sure you are staying?... I waited for further information but received nothing. I texted again the next day, yet he left my message on read for two weeks.
On Thanksgiving morning, he suddenly appeared at home. I didn’t expect that. “You are here?!” I asked in surprise. “Yeah! I said I was coming.” “You only said ‘sure’.” “Yeah. Sure is short for I’m coming home.” Well, his short answer brought trouble: we had not prepared enough food, ▲ ...
This made me think: Are one-word text replies polite, or am I just old?
I always know that communication styles have changed. These days, people are in the middle of work emails, group chats and different apps. One-word answers can save time when people are busy. If someone texts you, “Did you buy milk?”, a simple “Yes” is clear. If your friend asks, “Italian or Thai for dinner?”, replying “Thai” is not rude.
But to some people, like your mom, who gave you life, one-word answers may be not that good. What’s more, one word can also cause problems. Without voice or expressions, simple words may seem cold and cause misunderstanding.
In my opinion, one-word replies are not always impolite, but unclear answers are. When we are busy, we should still reply clearly or explain we will write more later. And to my son: I love you. I’m so glad you made it home for the holiday! But next year, I’m requiring full sentences. How about making that our promise?
1.What was the main purpose the mother texted her son before Thanksgiving?
A.To ask him to go home. B.To ask about his holiday plans. C.To show her great love.
2.Which can be put in ▲ ?
A.grandpa hadn’t arrived B.his room hadn’t been tidied C.the turkey hadn’t been ready
3.What does the mother think of one-word replies?
A.Fashionable but unacceptable. B.Clear but impolite. C.Cold and unclear.
4.How does the mother support her opinion on using one-word replies?
A.By interviewing others about their texting styles.
B.By asking several questions to make the readers think.
C.By giving real-life examples and telling possible results.
5.What message do the underlined sentences show?
A.The mother is inspiring her son to communicate more often.
B.The mother is setting an expectation to prevent future misunderstandings.
C.The mother is giving up on trying to understand her son’s communication style.
第一段提到“A few weeks before Thanksgiving, I sent my college son a simple text. ‘Are you staying at school for the break, or coming home? And if you’re back, when? Let me know your plans! Love you!!!’”,这表明母亲给儿子发短信的主要目的是询问他的假期计划。
2.根据前文“his short answer brought trouble: we had not prepared enough food”可知,因为儿子简短回复带来麻烦,没准备足够食物,结合感恩节通常准备火鸡的常识,C选项“the turkey hadn’t been ready”(火鸡还没准备好)符合语境。
3.第五段提到“Without voice or expressions, simple words may seem cold and cause misunderstanding.”以及最后一段提到“In my opinion, one-word replies are not always impolite, but unclear answers are.”,说明母亲认为单字回复是冷漠且不清晰的。
5.最后一段母亲说“But next year, I’m requiring full sentences. How about making that our promise?”,意思是明年要求儿子用完整句子回复,把这当作约定,这是母亲在设定期望以防止未来再出现类似的误解。

(2026·四川泸州·二模)As Kunqu Opera comes back to life, young performers are bringing centuries-old traditions into modern times.
He Xinyue is one of the 38 fifth-generation performers at the Jiangsu Kunqu Opera Theater, all born after 2000. She works hard to make Kunqu fit the taste of today’s audiences. “Kunqu is elegant (优雅的) because its stage is simple. Its sense of grace grows with just ‘one table, two chairs’,” she said.
However, learning Kunqu takes years of training. Performers start young, practicing tongzigong—skills like backflips and backbends.
In December 2024, the young artists staged their first complete show of “A Dream Under the Southern Bough”, a Ming Dynasty (1368–1644) play by Tang Xianzu. It was a shorter, 17-act version with a modern style. The original has 44 acts and follows Chun Yufen’s dreamlike journey.
For Cai Yisheng, acting as a Buddhist monk (和尚) was difficult. “I didn’t have the calm manner the role required,” he said. For Song Bofan, it’s not only about physical skills. “You need to really take in the lines and understand the different feelings of the character,” he said.
Kunqu’s lines are a mix of Suzhou dialect (方言) and zhongzhouyun, or ancient Chinese pronunciation. This makes the performance harder. But for Li Jingyang, it’s part of the charm. “Each line follows a qupai (a fixed musical pattern), like a poetic tune from the Song Dynasty (960–1279),” she said. “It opens a window to classical literature (文学).”
For this generation, Kunqu is a way of life. “Even in everyday conversations, we find ourselves talking about characters and storylines,” Li said. “It just comes naturally to us.”
1.What do we know about Kunqu Opera from the text?
A.Its performers need to sing well. B.Its stage setting is quite simple.
C.It requires little training to master. D.It is mostly popular with older people.
2.Why does the writer include the examples in Paragraph 5?
A.To show how hard it is to perform Kunqu.
B.To explain how to become a Kunqu performer.
C.To describe the performers’ love for Kunqu.
D.To suggest ways to understand characters.
3.What makes Kunqu’s lines difficult for performers?
A.They are very long and hard to remember.
B.They mix local dialect with ancient pronunciation.
C.They must be changed to fit modern musical patterns.
D.They require broad knowledge of classical literature.

One hot day, the woodcutters were eating their lunch under a tree when a beggar (乞丐) came walking towards them.
“My name is Clark, and I’m very hungry,” said the beggar, as he walked up to the two woodcutters. “Can you spare a little of your lunch for me?”
Barry felt great pity for Clark, and he took from his bag some food that he kept for later, and wanted to give it to the poor man. But to his surprise, Kent, who was a kind man too, stopped him from offering the food.
Kent said to Clark, “We both work all day long and we only have enough food to get us through the day. But if you wish, I can lend you my ax (斧子) and teach you to cut wood. Then you can sell the wood. And you will have a good chance of buying yourself food.”

“You must not talk about dying yet,” the doctor said to her kindly. He gave her the child to hold. Lovingly, she kissed the baby on his head with her cold white lips, then fell back and died.
“Poor dear!” said the nurse, without any expression.

“She was brought here last night,” replied the old nurse. “She was found lying in the street of the town. She must have walked a long way, for her shoes were worn to pieces. Where she came from, or what her name was, nobody knows.”
“The old story,” the doctor said sadly, shook his head and left.

With their help, I chose another Beethoven piece. We decided to remix it together. During the following two weeks, we practiced every day. How crazy! One kid even gave me a piano lesson.

The young man then talked to the mother and learned that after losing her husband, she raised her autistic son alone. When he asked if she was tired, she said, “I don’t have time to think about being tired. I just want to take good care of my son. Life is hard, but my heart is soft.”

4.What can we infer about the young performers from the last paragraph?

5.What is the passage mainly about?
A.The historical development of Kunqu. B.The difficulties in learning Kunqu.

(2026·四川眉山·二模)Oliver drew his first breath, and then announced his arrival to the rest of the workhouse by crying loudly. His mother raised her pale face and said in a weak voice, “Let me see the child, and die.”
“You must not talk about dying yet,” the doctor said to her kindly. He gave her the child to hold. Lovingly, she kissed the baby on his head with her cold white lips, then fell back and died.
“Poor dear!” said the nurse, without any expression.
The doctor began to put on his coat. The baby was weak and will probably have difficulties. He said, “Give him a little milk to keep him quiet.” Then he looked at the dead woman. “Where did the mother come from?”
“She was brought here last night,” replied the old nurse. “She was found lying in the street of the town. She must have walked a long way, for her shoes were worn to pieces. Where she came from, or what her name was, nobody knows.”
“The old story,” the doctor said sadly, shook his head and left.
And so Oliver was left with only the old nurse. Without clothes, he could have been the child of a king or a beggar (乞丐). But when the woman dressed him later in yellow cotton clothes, he looked exactly what he was — an orphan (孤儿) in a workhouse, ready for a poor and hungry life alone.
