题型一 语法填空
(24-25高二上·河南新乡·阶段检测)阅读下面短文,在空白处填入1个适当的单词或括号内单词的正确形式。
The Department for Education has just held a consultation (磋商) on what should 1 (include) on the school curriculum (课程) for personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education. First aid is a vital life skill and schools are under increasing pressure 2 (provide) it as a part of the school curriculum. First aid training provides children 3 knowledge of dealing with any medical emergencies. In addition to any first aid training they may have at school, many teenagers are now also choosing to take online and practical courses.
CPR, an emergency life-saving procedure 4 (perform) when the heart stops 5 (beat), is just one of the many areas covered in the first aid courses. In the UK over 30,000 cardiac arrests a year occur outside of hospitals, but less than one in ten cardiac arrest 6 (patient) survive to be discharged from hospital. 7 is therefore vital that we equip more people with the skills, ability and confidence to help. In Norway and the USA 8 these skills are routinely taught in schools, the survival rate for cardiac arrests in the community is far 9 (high) than in the UK.
For older children and teenagers, a first aid course can really boost their confidence, so they feel 10 (full) prepared should they or their friends need first-line medical help.
题型二 阅读理解
(25-26高二下·广东惠州·阶段检测)“I was dead for 67 minutes. It’s a miracle that I’m here today.” Those are the words of Bruce Richardson, who survived a heart attack in July 2016 thanks to the quick actions of his friends and the first responders who refused to give up.
It was an early summer morning, a typical Saturday. Bruce volunteered as usual in the community center. “I had no symptoms that there was any problem. It was a completely normal morning; I felt fine,” he shared. “I was visiting with friends. Then, I passed out. I know what happened next from what others have told me.”
Bruce’s friend, Jack, had learned how to perform CPR, and he quickly began chest presses. Another friend, Doug, dialed 911 and the operator walked him through chest presses until the first responders arrived. Once the ambulance arrived, the emergency medical workers tried five times to restart Bruce’s heart with an AED.By this time, Bruce had been without a heartbeat for over 30 minutes, often when time of death is called. On the phone with an emergency room doctor, one of the emergency medical workers was instructed to try two AEDs simultaneously (同时地). It worked; Bruce’s heart began to beat again. Incredibly, he awoke the next day and was able to communicate. After a week, Bruce made a full recovery and left the hospital.
Since Bruce’s cardiac arrest, he has been able to return to a normal life with some differences. He now is a passionate CPR advocate. He has shared his story in the news, and last year he was a guest speaker at the Association’s Indianapolis Heart & Stroke Ball to encourage people to spread the message of CPR. (25-26高二下·福建南平·期中)Vada has always enjoyed taking care of others since she was very young. Once, while carrying her baby brother, she tripped and fell. Quick-thinking, she landed on her knee, injuring herself but protecting his head. “He was fine,” she said, “I didn’t want him to have a concussion (脑震荡).” It also makes sense why she learned CPR in Girl Scouts (女童子军).
Vada’s parents, Clint and Amanda, are separated but remain close friends. One day, Vada went to visit Clint, who was gardening. When he went inside, his left arm and chest began hurting. “These are signs of a heart attack,” he told Vada. He knew because he’d looked them up. Then he went to take a shower. “Maybe that’ll help.”
Even after his hot shower, Clint felt freezing cold. He lay on the sofa and Vada brought him the covers. Soon, he began sweating. Vada knew this sudden body temperature swing was a bad sign. Having left her phone at her mom’s, she put her dad’s in her pocket in case she needed to call for help.
When Clint went to the bathroom, Vada followed and waited outside. Suddenly, she heard a heavy crash. Nervous, she rushed in and saw him struggling to breathe on the floor, she forced herself to remain calm and called 911. She told the 911 operator she knew CPR and started performing it on her father under guidance.
Some time later, the medical team arrived and took over. Vada called Amanda, and she just couldn’t hold back her feelings anymore and cried out loud. When Amanda arrived, one of the rescuers said, “Vada has already done the life-saving part and we’re taking it from there to do everything we can to help him.” Finally, Clint woke up.
Amanda shared the news on Facebook, and a Girl Scouts leader presented 11-year-old Vada with the Medal of Honor, one of the organization’s highest honors.
1.Why did Vada go to learn CPR in Girl Scouts?
A.She wanted to help others. B.She hoped to get an honor there.
C.She was into medical knowledge. D.She was sent there by her parents.
2.What did Vada do after finding Clint feeling unwell?
A.She called her mom for help. B.She helped to keep him warm.
C.She told him to take a shower. D.She took his body temperature.
3.Which of the following can best describe Vada?
A.Skilled but careless. B.Creative and heroic.
C.Organized but impatient. D.Caring and cool-headed.
4.What did the rescuer’s words show in paragraph 5?
A.Vada did a great job with CPR.
B.Clint would wake up soon.
C.Clint required another follow-up visit.
D.Vada needed to learn more about first aid.

Bruce’s friend, Jack, had learned how to perform CPR, and he quickly began chest presses.
