The news shows how many kids today can’t stop using phones, tablets, or watching TV too much. The mother’s action shows her anger, but it also teaches the child a bad lesson. Parents should guide kids wisely instead of using force (暴力) because real education (教育)comes from understanding, not from being afraid. An 80-Year-Old’s Fight for Care An 80-year-old Chinese woman took her two sons and a daughter to court (法庭)because they didn’t take care of her. Though she raised them with great love, her children now pay no attention to her. In China, looking after parents is both a law and a good tradition. But today, some people care more about themselves than their family. This thing shows how family traditions are becoming less important. In 2024, Wang, a full-time housewife, was injured (受伤) in a traffic accident caused by Xu. Although Wang didn’t have a job outside, she was taking care of her family. She asked for lost-work pay, but Xu said no, saying she wasn’t really working. However, the court in Wuhu thought differently. It believed that Wang’s housework saved money for the family. So, the court said yes to her lost-work pay. 51.In which SECTION of the newspaper can we read the news? A.LIFE. B.SPORTS. C.TRAVEL. D.HEALTH. 52.What does the “bad lesson” in the first news refer to? A.They didn’t follow family traditions. B.They had a fight with her. C.They didn’t look after her. D.They didn’t have a good job. 54.The best heading for the third piece of news would be _______. A.A Terrible Traffic Accident B.A housewife’s Bad Treatment C.Housework Matters Most D.A housewife Wins Lost-work Pay 55.What does the above news focus on? A.Family problems. B.Traffic accidents. C.Healthy lifestyles. D.Education ways. 故选A。 52.词句猜测题。根据“The mother’s action shows her anger, but it also teaches the child a bad lesson. Parents should guide kids wisely instead of using force because real education comes from understanding, not from being afraid.”可知,母亲的行为显示了她的怒气,也给了孩子一次坏的教训,父母应该理智地引导孩子,而不是使用暴力,因为真正的教育来自于理解,而不是害怕,因此此处bad lesson指的是用怒气解决问题。故选C。 53.细节理解题。根据“An 80-year-old Chinese woman took her two sons and a daughter to court because they didn’t take care of her.” A。 B With a driving experience of over 40 years, Ben, nearly 60, loved his job of sending the little children who rode his bus daily. The children were looking out of the window and crying. ‘Fire! Fire! Help!’”以及“Ben covered himself with his coat and burst into the flaming bus. He took the children out of the burning bus one after another”可知,孩子们哭泣是因为他们被困在着火的校车里,感到害怕。故选A。 60.最佳标题题。结合全文来看,Ben因其年事已高而面临退休,但在他勇敢地救下被困校车大火的学生后被认为是英雄并继续留任。B选项“An old hero on school bus”既点明了Ben的年龄和身份,又突出了他的英雄事迹,符合文章主旨。故选B。 C Like many people over the past few years, I have found myself turning to audiobooks (有声读物) as the main way of reading. I find it far more comfortable to “read with my ears” while my eyes are resting. But a recent study makes me wonder if this will come at the price of my ability to understand. The study comes from Boaz Keysar and Janet Geipel. It is based on the “dual (双重的) process model”, which means we have two ways of processing information. ★ It is quick, but easier to make mistakes. The second one has something to do with the use of logic reasoning (逻辑推理). When it is used, we think through the material step by step. Experts have designed different tests to decide which of these two ways a person is using. As one example, consider the following question: How many suns did Yu Gong shoot down? If you answered nine, perhaps you were only noticing some words of the question, which is the first way of thinking. To get to the right answer-zero, you need to think more carefully about the words of the question. They would allow you to remember it was Hou Yi who shot down the suns, not Yu Gong. That is the kind of logic reasoning process. Keysar and Geipel’s study was to find out whether seeing or hearing the information would make things different. The result was: When answering these kinds of simple questions, it was more possible for people to make mistakes when the sentences were spoken out loud, rather than written. It could be a problem if we depend more on our feelings when we are getting information that needs logic reasoning. For this reason, I will return to reading serious books with my eyes rather than my ears. But I won’t stop listening to novels. I am quite happy that my mind can take a break then. 61.What does the writer think of listening to audiobooks? A.It is cheap. B.It is tiring. C.It is relaxing. D.It is wasting time. 62.Which of the following can be put in ★ ? A.First, you should read the information carefully. B.The first one depends on natural ability and feeling. C.They are the key to successful understanding. D.One is reading with ears, the other is reading with eyes. 63.Processing information by using logic reasoning allows people to ________. A.think about the information carefully B.get the information without thinking C.remember the information at once D.get only the main idea of the information 64.Why are Yu Gong and Hou Yi mentioned in paragraph 2? A.To report a fact. B.To explain an opinion. C.To introduce a topic. D.To offer background information. 65.What does the writer want to tell us? A.Listening to books prevents your understanding. B.Reading serious books is good for you. C.You must think twice while reading D.Ways of processing information are different. 【答案】61.C 62.B 63.A 64.B 65.A 【导语】本文主要介绍了人们获取信息的方式,有声读物和用眼睛看书,两者相比较,用眼睛看书更有助于人们获取信息。 【详解】61.细节理解题。根据“I find it far more comfortable to ‘read with my ears’ while my eyes are resting.”可知,作者认为听有声读物是令人放松的。故选C。 62.推理判断题。根据前一句“It is based on the ‘dual (双重的) process model’, which means we have two ways of processing information.”以及后一句“The second one has something to do with the use of logic reasoning (逻辑推理).”可知,此空应是介绍两种当中的第一种。B选项“第一种取决于天赋和感觉。”符合语境。故选B。 63.细节理解题。根据“To get to the right answer-zero, you need to think more carefully about the words of the question. They would allow you to remember it was Hou Yi who shot down the suns, not Yu Gong. That is the kind of logic reasoning process.”可知,通过使用逻辑推理呈现信息可以让人们仔细思考信息。故选A。 64.推理判断题。根据“To get to the right answer-zero, you need to think more carefully about the words of the question.”以及“They would allow you to remember it was Hou Yi who shot down the suns, not Yu Gong. That is the kind of logic reasoning process.”可知,第二段中提到了愚公和后羿是为了解释一个观点。故选B。 65.推理判断题。根据“But a recent study makes me wonder if this will come at the price of my ability to understand.”以及“ It could be a problem if we depend more on our feelings when we are getting information that needs logic reasoning. For this reason, I will return to reading serious books with my eyes rather than my ears.”可知,作者想告诉我们听书会妨碍你的理解。故选A。 第II卷(非选择题 共40分) 五、词与短语填空(共5小题,每小题2分,满分10分) 阅读下面短文,然后用下面方框中所给的单词或短语填空,使短文在结构、语意和逻辑上正确。 (提示:方框中有两个单词或短语是多余的。 controlled / surprised / looked forward to / looked up to / hit / popularity / product A lot of time, a lot of money, a lot of resources, when a game meets these conditions, the industry will simply call it a 3A game. The news shows how many kids today can’t stop using phones, tablets, or watching TV too much. The mother’s action shows her anger, but it also teaches the child a bad lesson. His retirement day approached pretty soon. The day before his last day, Ben was dropping off the kids at his first stop when he looked out of the window and saw a lady on the road who had fainted (昏厥).
