(2026浙江一月卷)During your initial reading of material, do you ever go back and reread sentences or paragraphs? Is it because the material is too difficult to comprehend on the first reading or because you are asleep? 16. Probably the latter is true.
You are napping(打盹) or daydreaming. Halfway down the page you realize that you have no idea what you have read. 17. Your eyes were engaged, but your mind was not. Thus, you go back and reread, not because you did not understand, but because you were not paying attention. This type of rereading is called regression.
Napping and daydreaming are habits caused by lack of involvement with the material. Be demanding on yourself and expect 100 percent attention to the task. Engage your mind. Visualize the incoming ideas, and relate the new material to what you already know. 18. Don’t just read the words; think the ideas. If your mind is truly occupied with the text, you will not be able to think about Friday night or where to go on Saturday.
Regression is a crutch(拐杖) that allows you to make up for wasted time. First of all, become aware of when and why you are regressing. 19. Then, start denying yourself the right in order to break the habit. Say, “OK. I missed that paragraph because I was thinking of something else, but I’m going to keep on going and start paying close attention.”
___20___ Good readers who monitor their own comprehension use it in the reading process. However, regressing because your mind was asleep is a waste of time.
A. Both are to blame.
B. Probably the latter is true.
C. Don’t just read the words; think the ideas.
D. Spend a few minutes reading the material aloud.
E. Your eyes were engaged, but your mind was not.
F. Then, start denying yourself the right in order to break the habit.
G. Rereading because you did not understand is a reasonable fix-up strategy.
【解析】
第一步:观察文本特征。结合前文的小标题都是祈使句可知答案在选项A、C、E中选择。
第二步:寻找关键信息。设空处位于段首,总结全段,根据下文“Good readers who monitor their own comprehension use it in the reading process. However, regressing because your mind was asleep is a waste of time. (善于监控自己理解程度的优秀读者会在阅读过程中使用它。然而,因为打瞌睡而回读是浪费时间。)”可知,此处应区分两种回读,强调因不懂而回读是合理的,G选项“Rereading because you did not understand is a reasonable fix-up strategy. (因为不懂而回读是一种合理的补救策略。)”中的Rereading because you did not understand与下文regressing because your mind was asleep形成对比,reasonable fix-up strategy与下文use it in the reading process相呼应,符合语境。
Ways to Teach Kids Work Ethic Early
Ever watched your child try to get out of doing housework by making excuses? If only the effort they put into avoiding responsibility could be redirected into, well, actual responsibility. In fact, building work ethic(道德) in kids doesn’t require military-style drills. Here are four simple and practical ways.
●Make housework part of the family routine.
Involve your child in the daily running of the house: tidying toys, feeding the dog, watering the plants. 36. The key is consistency. When the tasks become as routine as brushing teeth, kids internalise that helping with housework is simply part of life.
● 37. Model the work ethic you want to see.
You can’t expect your child to tackle their tasks with enthusiasm while you’re complaining about loading the dishwasher. If your child sees you enjoying your work and taking pride in a job well done, they’re far more likely to do the same.
●Build determination through goals.
____38____ Sometimes you have to help them find their “thing.” Set small, achievable goals together with them and celebrate progress, not perfection. The trick is to let them struggle a bit — resist the urge to help fix things the moment they experience a setback.
●Treat mistakes as opportunities.
Few things strike fear into a child’s heart like the prospect of failing. The best way is to normalise mistakes as a natural part of learning. When kids mess up, don’t jump in with a rescue mission. 39. Instead, encourage them to do differently next time.
Teaching kids work ethic is to gently and consistently push them toward responsibility, determination, and pride in their efforts. 40. Progress can be slow, and you’ll wonder if it’s all sinking in. No worry. Those habits you’re building now are setting your child up for a lifetime of resilience(韧性) and satisfaction.
A. The key is consistency.
B. Help kids develop analytical skills.
C. Model the work ethic you want to see.
D. Instead, encourage them to do differently next time.
E. Sometimes, a cleaner living room is the best reward.
F. Progress can be slow, and you’ll wonder if it’s all sinking in.
G. Not every child is born with the willpower of a marathon runner.
【解析】
第一步:观察文本特征。结合其他段落结构,均含有小标题,包括本段。设空处位于标题之下,段落之首,应该定为段落过渡句
第二步:寻找关键信息。在段落中寻找同义词、近义词或反义词等关键词。根据本段小标题“Making Requests”可知,本段主要讲述的是用餐时提请求的问题。本段小标题是“Build determination through goals.(借助目标培养意志力。)”;根据空后“Sometimes you have to help them find their “thing.” Set small, achievable goals together with them and celebrate progress, not perfection. The trick is to let them struggle a bit — resist the urge to help fix things the moment they experience a setback.(有时你需要帮孩子找到适合自己的事。和他们一起设定容易达成的小目标,看重进步而非完美。诀窍是让他们适当经历磨砺,不要一遇到挫折就立刻帮忙解决问题。)”可知,后文提出需要借助外力、设定小目标来锻炼意志力,反向说明孩子天生意志力参差不齐,不是所有人天生意志力都很强。G选项“Not every child is born with the willpower of a marathon runner.(并非每个孩子生来都拥有马拉松运动员那般强大的意志力。)”
Not all great writers are great spellers. If you want to be published, it’s vital to submit a perfect, professionally presented manuscript(原稿). 36 (F. That means good grammar and no spelling mistakes.) No editor is likely to tolerate a writer who does not take the trouble to spell words correctly.
I keep two reference books close-by on my desk: dictionary and thesaurus(同义词词典). I don’t trust my laptop’s spellchecker. 37 (B. It takes no account of the context.) Of course, these days there are plenty of online dictionaries and thesauruses, but I’m old-fashioned enough to prefer a hard cover and pages I can leaf through with my fingers. I use the Concise Oxford Dictionary and the Collins Thesaurus.
38 It should give you a precise definition of each word, thus differentiating it from other words whose meanings are similar, but not identical. It will also usually show how the word is pronounced.
In addition, I have an old two-volume copy of the Shorter Oxford Dictionary, picked up a few years ago in a bookshop sale for just 99 pence. Of course, with its 2,672 pages, it’s not exactly short. It contains around 163,000 words, plus word combinations and idiomatic phrases. 39 (A. I don’t often use this dictionary.) However, if I need to check the origin of a word or to look up examples of its usage, there’s nothing better.
For well over a hundred years the most influential English dictionary was Samuel Johnson’s Dictionary of the English Language published in 1755. “To make dictionaries is dull(乏味) work,” wrote Johnson, illustrating one definition of “dull”. 40 (D. But a dictionary can be a pleasure to read.) A few minutes spent casting your eye over a page or two can be a rewarding experience.
A. I don’t often use this dictionary.
B. It takes no account of the context.
C. But I still don’t want to replace them.
D. But a dictionary can be a pleasure to read.
E. Of course, a dictionary is not only for spelling.
F. That means good grammar and no spelling mistakes.
G. Dictionaries don’t always give you enough information.
【解析】
第一步:观察文本特征。设空处段落之首,参考其他段落既没有标题句也没有主题句,应该是非典型细节句。
第二步:寻找关键信息。文“It should give you a precise definition of each word, thus differentiating it from other words whose meanings are similar, but not identical. It will also usually show how the word is pronounced.(它应该给出每个单词的精确定义,从而将其与其他含义相似但不相同的单词区分开来。它通常还会显示单词的发音。)”提到了字典的功能,E选项“Of course, a dictionary is not only for spelling.(当然,字典不仅仅是用来拼写的。)”提到了字典的部分功能,能引起下文内容。设空处与“It should give...”和“It will also usually show...”构成顺承关系。故选E项。
第三步:锁定最佳答案。本题最佳答案是E。

Passage 1
(2026届福建省泉州市高中毕业班质量检测(一)英语试题)In The Boy That Could Fly, Michael is an orphan(孤儿) adopted by a loving couple and grows up like any ordinary boy — until something extraordinary happens. 1 Doctors are shocked to discover that his body is developing something impossible: a pair of real, functioning wings.
At first, Michael is amazed by his ability to fly. He flies through the sky, feeling free and weightless, like the birds he’s always admired. 2 News of the “flying boy” spreads quickly, and everyone wants something from him. Scientists demand to study him, convinced he could change human history. Reporters dog him for interviews, turning his life into a freak(怪胎) show. Some criminals kidnap(绑架) him, hoping to profit from his powers. Michael realizes how dangerous his gift really is.
With the help of his adoptive parents and a few loyal friends, Michael fights to regain control of his life. 3 But the world won’t let him. The story follows his struggle to protect his freedom while facing fear, greed, and the cruelty of those who see him as a freak.
4 Michael’s wings make him unique, but they also make him a target. Some people admire him; others want to lock him away. Through his journey, the story asks: What does it mean to be different? Should he hide who he is to fit in; or can he find a way to live openly without fear?
In the end, it’s a tale of courage and belonging. Though Michael’s wings give him the power to fly, his greatest challenge isn’t staying in the air. 5 The author combines fantasy with real-world themes, showing how society treats those who stand out and what it takes to stay true to yourself.
A. But his joy doesn’t last long.
B. It’s finding a place where he can truly land.
C. At first, Michael enjoys his newfound ability.
D. One day, he begins feeling sharp pains in his back.
E. Beyond the adventure, this is a story about acceptance.
F. Now, Michael flies openly, joining rescue teams to save lives.
G. He doesn’t want to be an experiment or a celebrity — he just wants to be himself.
Passage 2
(2026年湖南省普通高中学水平考试模拟试卷一英语)Many adults are proud to share their fascinations with what others would label as kids’ toys. Mini Brands mystery packs or other blind boxes have become a phenomenon as collectibles for some adults. 1 For others, Legos are on their wishlist encouraged by the brand’s growing number of grown-up sets.
2 Seeking and sparking child-like joy may be part of the appeal, said behavioral therapist Maddy Ellberger. “When something reminds us of a positive memory, we are likely to engage with it because the association recalls those memories.”
3 Clothing brands are also cashing in on nostalgia(怀旧情怀) — from Crocs creating a Lizzie McGuire clog to Lululemon’s Disney collection making a full comeback that includes adults. Barbie isn’t just for kids clothes now either, thanks to the recent film and “Barbie-core” fashion trend.
In addition to the trendy appeal, all these revivals can also touch on a feeling of connection during a time of increased division. But whether that desire for connection is satisfied depends on if you can translate the excitement into real, in-person connection. 4 But having or wearing the same thing is not the actual steps of forming shared identity,” Ellberger said. “And I feel like that’s some of what gets lost, and it isn’t impossible.”
Ellberger has a great idea for this. “You are into a certain trend, like toys. There’s a good chance you’ll find others who are into the same trend. 5 If it was part of everyone’s secret Santa or white elephant — that’s a really cute way of connecting over this,” she said.
A. The craze goes beyond toys.
B. So, what’s with the fascination?
C. It’s a great way to form community.
D. Then give these toys to them as holiday gifts.
E. Social media fuels the trend by creating shared experiences.
F. Even stuffed animals are making their way into adults’ homes.
G. Childhood favorites have instead become relevant to adults again.
Passage 3
(2026届浙江宁波市镇海中学高三下学期模拟预测英语试题)
Chasing colors
When you grow too familiar with the city you live in, it’s easy to overlook the scenery during your daily walks. But what if your next footstep came with a small twist — following a specific color as your guide?
This idea, known as a “color walk”, has recently gained popularity on social media both in China and abroad. ____1____
As the trend spreads, many netizens have begun sharing photos online, while some cities have released color-walk guides for residents.
____2____ In Shenzhen, Guangdong province, for example, those searching for pink might find bougainvillea in Shenzhen International Garden and Flower Expo Park, or trumpet-shaped flowers along parks and roads. ____3____
But beyond the colors themselves, this simple activity may also lead to unexpected discoveries. ____4____ “After a whole day of color walking, the world felt brand new,” one netizen wrote on Sina Weibo. “Places I used to overlook suddenly seemed worth noticing — a yellow bicycle under a tree, or a yellow taxi parked behind a house.”
____5____ Sometimes, all it takes is a single color to turn an ordinary walk into a small act of rediscovery.
A. Participants choose a single color and challenge themselves to spot objects, buildings, and scenery in that hue along the way.
B. In Yichang, Hubei province, nearly 40,000 square meters of rapeseed blossoms form a bright yellow sea beneath the blue sky.
C. Many find that this focused observation brings back a sense of freshness to familiar routes.
D. This practice turns an ordinary walk into a more engaging and mindful experience.
E. It encourages people to see their surroundings from a different angle.
F. City governments are also using this trend to promote local tourism.
G. The idea was first introduced by an artist in the United States.
Passage 4
(2025-2026学年福建厦门市同安实验中学高三下学期第四次月考)In Jingdezhen, known as China’s capital of porcelain, a quiet change is taking place. The city now offers visitors more than just finished porcelain products. ___1___
The experience follows a clear process guided by skilled artisans. Visitors first roll the clay to remove the air inside and make it soft. Then, at a turntable, they shape the material with their hands and cups, bowls or small vases slowly take form. ___2___ After shaping, they add colors or words to the work, which is then fired in a kiln(瓷窑). Days later, it is mailed to their home, bringing a pleasant surprise.
This kind of experience differs greatly from buying a finished product. A store product may be perfect. It offers little emotional connection, though. ___3___ Every small imperfection — an uneven edge or a fingerprint — tells a story. The waiting time adds meaning. When the package finally arrives, opening it feels like meeting an old friend. Pride and joy come from the whole-hearted dedication.
___4___ During the process, local artisans share knowledge of traditional techniques. Ancient skills become real and touchable. Visitors learn about the seventy-two steps of porcelain making, gaining a deep insight into this time-honored Chinese craft.
Today, pottery workshops have grown into a popular highlight of Jingdezhen’s cultural tourism. ___5___ More importantly, they connect visitors to tradition in a meaningful way.
A. The process takes patience and focus.
B. It invites them to create their own china.

Passage 6
(2026年广东佛山市第一中学高三一模检测英语试题)You may have caught yourself talking to yourself, whether it’s reminding yourself about tasks or processing your emotions out loud. This simple habit often feels comforting and can be incredibly useful. After all, sometimes your own voice is your biggest motivator.
Why People Talk to Themselves
Talking to yourself might seem strange. 1 It’s more than perfectly normal — in fact, it can serve as a powerful mental strategy.
2 It can operate like a thermostat (恒温器), influencing the temperature of your emotions. External self-talk can also help you move towards your goals, give yourself feedback, and assist with analyzing challenging tasks. Some people also use it to prepare what they want to say ahead of time.
The Benefits of Talking to Yourself
3 One benefit of external self-talk is that it can improve the relationship you have with yourself. Instead of asking others for answers all the time, talking to yourself helps you hear what you really want and make your own choices. Talking to yourself is a way to admit you are in charge as an adult. Trusting yourself is a key factor for building self-worth and tuning out other noises.
Create space for curiosity. Talking to yourself creates a suitable environment for self-inquiry. When you communicate with yourself with curiosity, you will become more aware of and understand yourself clearly. 4 For example, you can ask yourself some questions to gain a deeper understanding of your inner world, or you can try a journaling method — write down your thoughts and answers, then read those answers out loud.
So remember, even if talking to yourself feels a little odd, it comes with big benefits. Start small and ask yourself how you feel and why, and don’t be afraid to voice your thoughts out loud. 5
A. Boost self-worth.
B. Regulate emotions.
C. However, there are a variety of reasons why people do it.
D. Self-inquiry requires quite complex steps every now and then.
E. In fact, this way of self-inquiry can be very simple.
F. This powerful practice could make a big difference in your mental wellness.
G. Talking to yourself isn’t just common chatter — it’s a practical technique.
Passage 7
(2025-2026学年云南昆明市云南师范大学附属中学高三适应性月考卷)
How to Eat Passion Fruit
Passion fruit is regarded as one of the most delicious tropical fruits around the world. It has a special flavor full of tropical sweetness, and it is easy to take with you when you go to work or just stay at home for a casual snack. 1 Here are clear and practical steps to help you pick, prepare and eat fresh passion fruit.
● Pick ripe passion fruit.
2. You are supposed to pick the ones that are slightly wrinkled and in deep purple color — these are the ones that have ripened the most and will be the sweetest. Since people only eat the inner flesh instead of the outer skin, how clean the skin looks doesn’t matter too much. In general, the softer the fruit shell feels, the riper it will be.
● 3
You should grab a passion fruit and shake it. If you feel a lot of liquid or pressure in there, that means there are a lot of seeds and liquid, which means a lot of deliciousness to eat. You can also determine the flavor if you smell the fruit. If it has a lot of tropical aromas(香气), then it will taste good. If you can’t smell anything, it’ll probably either be too sour or tasteless
.● Wash your passion fruit.
Once you have purchased the passion fruit, ensure that you wash it carefully even though we never eat its skin. 4 When an unwashed passion fruit is cut, the knife carries the bacteria from the skin through the flesh of the fruit.
● Scoop the passion fruit.
You can cut the cleaned fruit into halves and scoop out the orange flesh with a spoon. Try to let as little of the juice as possible run out of the fruit (because it’s delicious.) 5 Don’t scrape the skin too hard because the white layer is bitter and tastes bad.
A. Squeeze passion fruit.
B. Check by shaking and smelling.
C. Consider the texture of the passion fruit’s skin.
D. Shaking the fruit is the best way to know its flavor.
E. However, it takes some simple skills to enjoy its best flavor.
F. You will see that the orange flesh is separated from the white skin.
G. It can keep harmful chemicals and bacteria away from your mouth.
Passage 8
(2026届云南省红河州、文山州高三第四次州统测三模英语试题)
How to Get Organized: The Ultimate Guide to a Clutter-Free Life
With all the inputs, information, and clutter(杂乱) that come into our lives today, just staying on top of it all creates so much stress and anxiety. Most of the time, you simply don’t know where to start when you want to learn how to be organized. 1 . By developing a few strategies and methods, you can finally get control of your clutter.
2
Your desktop should be clean and file-free. Not only does a cluttered desktop slow down your computer, but it also makes finding things painfully slow. Instead, you can create a basic folder structure inside your documents folder. For me, I have two basics folders, one called “work” and the other called “personal.” Inside of these, I have subfolders organized according to my different roles or categories. 3 .
Set a weekly time to declutter your devices
We take a picture, and we just leave it in our photo album. Over time we end up with thousands of photos in our electronic photo albums that are not worth keeping. I spend around ten minutes on the weekend deleting all the images I no longer want to keep.
If you want to stay clutter-free, this habit will reward you. 4 . Not doing so means you will end up having to spend a day or two just dealing with everything.
Do a little, often
5 . Clear out your email inbox every day, delete screenshots from your desktop and empty your bag at the end of the week, and throw away anything you no longer need. Doing a little often makes things so much easier, and you do not have that mental backlog creeping up on you.
In short, getting organized and keeping clutter at bay is achievable through practical, consistent steps. These habits not only save time and reduce stress but also help you maintain a more orderly and manageable daily routine.
A. Make it a habit to clear your desktop annually
B. Don’t use your computer’s desktop for storage
C. However, it is, in fact, something that can be learned
D. It allows me to quickly find what I need when necessary
E. Here are a few rules that can help you on your path to a stress-free life
F. If you want to be organized, you can use this principle for almost everything
G. Doing this means you will spend thirty minutes each week cleaning up and filing
Passage 9
(2026届河南驻马店经济开发区高级中学高三第二学期5月质量检测英语试题)Being a camp counselor(辅导员) is an exciting and important job! You help campers have a lot of fun, learn new things, and feel safe. To be great at it, you need the right skills and a positive attitude. These five tips will show you how to lead, listen, and create amazing memories for everyone at camp!
Be enthusiastic in every activity. 1 Show enthusiasm to motivate the group, whether it’s an exciting outdoor activity or a quieter indoor craft session. Even during activities that can seem less exciting, like rainy-day games, your enthusiasm can transform the experience.
Listen actively to your campers. Being a good listener is one of the most important features of a great camp counselor. 2 When they share their thoughts or feelings, give them your full attention, and respond thoughtfully. This builds trust and shows you care about them.
Be open to trying new things. Campers often look up to their counselors as role models. 3 Be willing to try new activities, even if they’re outside your usual interests. Whether it’s attempting a climbing wall or joining a dance-off, your willingness inspires your campers to do the same.
4 Campers often come up with creative ideas or suggestions for activities. Instead of dismissing these ideas, take them seriously. Even when an idea doesn’t work out perfectly, the camper will feel valued knowing their input matters.
Use positive language. The way you communicate with campers matters. Instead of focusing on what they mustn’t do, guide them with positive instructions. For example, instead of saying, “Don’t run,” say, “Please walk.” 5
A. Encourage camper ideas.
B. Always be patient when resolving conflicts.
C. Campers want to feel heard and understood.
D. By doing so, your instructions are easier to remember.
E. This slight change makes them more likely to cooperate.
F. Your energy and excitement set the tone for your campers.
G. To encourage them to step out of their comfort zones, you need to do the same.
Passage 10
(2026届湖北十堰市郧阳中学高三最后一次模拟考试英语试题)Which is more beneficial to English learning, paper or electronic dictionaries? 1 Instead of taking sides blindly, learners should apply them properly based on different learning stages and practical needs.
Paper dictionaries feature exploratory learning. When turning pages, you will unavoidably encounter new words, phrases and typical sentences. 2 They also help deepen memory, as paper layout and physical use strengthen long-term word recall. Besides, they offer complete collocation and style information without digital distractions.
3 They allow instant word lookup without breaking your reading train of thought. Most are equipped with audio pronunciation, personalized word lists and spaced repetition systems to facilitate efficient vocabulary review. Top-grade ones are even connected to massive language corpora(语料库), revealing how certain words are employed in real-life contexts.
Wise use of dictionaries lies in matching tools with learning tasks. For primary school students, paper dictionaries serve as a good helper to develop basic dictionary-searching skills. 4 Senior high school learners may rely mainly on electronic dictionaries for efficiency, while keeping a paper one at hand to check confusing word usages in depth. College students can combine both, with electronic tools for quick inquiry and paper ones for accurate writing.
Some universal rules should be followed to make the most of dictionaries: try to guess word meanings before looking them up; turn to English explanations rather than Chinese versions; attach greater importance to example sentences than simple definitions. By sticking to these good habits, you can achieve a perfect balance between depth and efficiency. 5 All in all, dictionaries are merely learning tools. The ultimate goal is to cultivate independent thinking and the ability to use words flexibly in diverse contexts.
A. But they have obvious drawbacks as well.
B. Such a heated debate has persisted for years.
C. Electronic dictionaries represent efficient learning.
D. This unintended exposure boosts vocabulary expansion.
E. Daily reading is the ideal occasion for us to consult dictionaries.
F. Also, you’d better review newly learned words at regular intervals.
G. Middle school students can use both fully for respective learning purposes.

【答案】1. D 2. A 3. G 4. E 5. B
【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。文章主要讲述了孤儿迈克尔长出翅膀后,生活巨变,他在各方帮助下努力掌控生活,故事探讨与众不同及自我接纳的主题。
1. 由上文“In The Boy That Could Fly, Michael is an orphan adopted by a loving couple and grows up like any ordinary boy — until something extraordinary happens.(在《能飞的男孩》中,迈克尔是一个被慈爱夫妇收养的孤儿,像普通男孩一样长大——直到发生了一件非同寻常的事)”可知,本空应描述这件“非同寻常的事”是如何开始的。D选项“One day, he begins feeling sharp pains in his back.(有一天,他开始感到背部剧烈疼痛)”自然引出下文“Doctors are shocked to discover that his body is developing something impossible: a pair of real, functioning wings.(医生震惊地发现他的身体正在发育出不可能的东西:一对真正能运作的翅膀)”,“sharp pains in his back”正是翅膀生长的前兆,逻辑衔接紧密。故选D。
2. 由上文“At first, Michael is amazed by his ability to fly. He flies through the sky, feeling free and weightless, like the birds he’s always admired.(起初,迈克尔对自己的飞行能力感到惊奇。 故选A。
3. 由上文“With the help of his adoptive parents and a few loyal friends, Michael fights to regain control of his life.(在养父母和几位忠诚朋友的帮助下,迈克尔努力夺回对自己生活的控制权)”以及下文“But the world won’t let him.(但世界不会让他如愿)”可知,本空应表达迈克尔的内心愿望或斗争动机。G选项“He doesn’t want to be an experiment or a celebrity — he just wants to be himself.(他不想成为一个实验品或名人——他只想做自己)”深刻揭示了他抗争的本质:追求自我认同与平凡生活,与下文“the cruelty of those who see him as a freak(那些视他为怪胎的人的残忍)”形成对比,情感连贯。故选G。
4. 下文“Michael’s wings make him unique, but they also make him a target. Some people admire him; others want to lock him away. Through his journey, the story asks: What does it mean to be different? Should he hide who he is to fit in; or can he find a way to live openly without fear?(迈克尔的翅膀让他与众不同,但也让他成为了目标。有些人钦佩他;有些人想把他关起来。通过他的旅程,这个故事提出了一个问题:与众不同意味着什么?他应该隐藏自己的身份以融入其中;还是他能找到一种毫无恐惧地公开生活的方式?)”围绕“与众不同以及如何被接受”展开讨论。E选项“Beyond the adventure, this is a story about acceptance.(除了冒险,这是一个关于接受的故事)”能够概括下文的核心内容,引出下文关于与众不同和接受的主题探讨。故选E。
5. 由上文“Though Michael’s wings give him the power to fly, his greatest challenge isn’t staying in the air.(尽管迈克尔的翅膀赋予他飞行的能力,但他最大的挑战不是停留在空中)”可知,本空应说明他真正的挑战是什么。B选项“It’s finding a place where he can truly land.(而是找到一个他能真正着陆的地方)”运用双关手法,“land”既指物理降落,更象征“归属”与“接纳”,与前句形成对比,深刻揭示主题——真正的自由在于心灵的归属,而非身体的飞翔。故选B。
【答案】1. F 2. B 3. A 4. C 5. D
【导语】这是一篇说明文。本文探讨了成年人对童年玩具及相关怀旧产品着迷的现象,分析了原因,并提出了把这种兴趣转化为现实连接的建议。
1. 根据前文“Mini Brands mystery packs or other blind boxes have become a phenomenon as collectibles for some adults. (Mini Brands盲盒等已经成为一些成年人的现象级收藏品。)”以及后文“For others, Legos are on their wishlist encouraged by the brand’s growing number of grown-up sets. (对另一些人来说,由于乐高推出了越来越多适合成年人玩的积木套装,乐高也在他们的愿望清单上。)”可知,空处应承接上下文,说明成年人热衷的不只是盲盒和乐高,并且这类东西也是一些人的收藏品。F 选项“Even stuffed animals are making their way into adults’ homes. (就连毛绒玩具也开始进入成年人的家中。)”中making their way into adults’ homes意指成为了成年人的收藏品,符合语境。故选 F。
2. 根据后文“Seeking and sparking child-like joy may be part of the appeal, said behavioral therapist Maddy Ellberger. (行为治疗师Maddy Ellberger说,寻求和激发孩童般的快乐可能是吸引力的一部分。)”可知,空处应提出问题,引出对成年人为什么痴迷于盲盒毛绒玩具乐高等物品的探讨。B 选项“So, what’s with the fascination? (那么,这种着迷是怎么回事呢?)”以问句形式承接上文现象,引出下文的原因分析,符合语境。故选 B。
3. 根据后文“Clothing brands are also cashing in on nostalgia (怀旧情怀) — from Crocs creating a Lizzie McGuire clog to Lululemon’s Disney collection making a full comeback that includes adults. Barbie isn’t just for kids clothes now either... (服装品牌也在利用怀旧情结大赚一笔——从Crocs推出Lizzie McGuire的木屐,到Lululemon的迪士尼系列全面回归,其中包括成年人。由于最近的电影和“芭比核心”时尚潮流,芭比现在也不仅仅是童装了……)”可知,怀旧情结的卖点不仅在玩具领域好用,在服装业也是如此。此空后的also一词很关键。A 选项“The craze goes beyond toys. (这股热潮不仅限于玩具。)”符合语境。故选 A。
4. 根据前文“But whether that desire for connection is satisfied depends on if you can translate the excitement into real, in-person connection. (但这种对连接的渴望是否能得到满足,取决于你能否将这种兴奋转化为真实的、面对面的连接。)”以及后文“But having or wearing the same thing is not the actual steps of forming shared identity (但拥有或穿着同样的东西并不是形成共同身份的实际步骤)”可知,空处应提出一种形成连接的方式。C 选项“It’s a great way to form community. (这是形成社区的好方法。)”承接上文“连接”的话题,引出下文对形成共同身份步骤的讨论,符合语境。故选 C。
5. 根据前文“You are into a certain trend, like toys. There’s a good chance you’ll find others who are into the same trend. (你热衷于某种趋势,比如玩具。你很有可能会找到其他也热衷于同样趋势的人。)”以及后文“If it was part of everyone’s secret Santa or white elephant — that’s a really cute way of connecting over this. (若将其纳入‘秘密圣诞老人’或‘白象礼物’交换环节,便是借此建立连接的温馨方式)”可知,空处应提出具体的连接方式。D 选项“Then give these toys to them as holiday gifts. (然后把这些玩具作为节日礼物送给他们。)”承接上文“找到同样兴趣的人”,them指代前句里的others,与后文“秘密圣诞老人或白象礼物”呼应,提供了具体的连接方法,符合语境。故选 D。

【导语】主要说明了景德镇不再仅售卖瓷器,还推出亲手制瓷体验。自制瓷器饱含独特情感,游客能学习传统工艺,这类体验助力当地文旅发展,传承陶瓷文化。
1.根据上文“In Jingdezhen, known as China’s capital of porcelain, a quiet change is taking place. The city now offers visitors more than just finished porcelain products. (在被誉为“中国瓷器之都”的景德镇,正在发生着悄然的变化。如今,这座城市为游客提供的已不再仅仅是成品瓷器,还包含更多的内容。)”可知,第一段点明景德镇现在给游客提供的不只有成品瓷器,后文紧接着开始介绍游客亲自制瓷的完整流程。B选项“它邀请游客创作属于自己的瓷器”承接上文,引出下文的手作体验,符合逻辑。
2.根据上文“The experience follows a clear process guided by skilled artisans. Visitors first roll the clay to remove the air inside and make it soft. Then, at a turntable, they shape the material with their hands and cups, bowls or small vases slowly take form. (这一工艺流程由技艺精湛的工匠严格遵循既定规范进行操作。游客首先将黏土滚动,以排出内部空气并使其变软。接着,在转盘上,他们用手和杯子、碗或小花瓶来塑形材料,这些器物便逐渐成形。)”以及后文“After shaping, they add colors or words to the work, which is then fired in a kiln (瓷窑). Days later, it is mailed to their home, bringing a pleasant surprise. (经过塑形后,他们会为作品添加颜色或文字,然后将其放入窑中烧制。几天后,作品会被寄回他们的家中,带来一份愉快的惊喜。)”第二段介绍制瓷步骤,前文讲完揉泥、手动塑形,提到“杯子、碗慢慢成型”,后文讲塑形完成后的上色、烧制步骤。A选项“这个过程需要耐心和专注”承接前文“慢慢成型”的特点,自然衔接流程。
3.根据上文“This kind of experience differs greatly from buying a finished product. A store product may be perfect. It offers little emotional connection, though. (这种体验与购买成品有很大的不同。商店里的商品或许很完美,但它们缺乏情感上的联结。)”以及后文“Every small imperfection — an uneven edge or a fingerprint — tells a story. The waiting time adds meaning. When the package finally arrives, opening it feels like meeting an old friend. Pride and joy come from the whole-hearted dedication.
4.根据后文“During the process, local artisans share knowledge of traditional techniques. Ancient skills become real and touchable. Visitors learn about the seventy-two steps of porcelain making, gaining a deep insight into this time-honored Chinese craft. (在这个过程中,当地的工匠们分享了传统工艺的知识。古老的技艺变得鲜活且可触摸。游客们了解了瓷器制作的七十二道工序,从而对这一历史悠久的中国工艺有了深刻的了解。)”可知,第四段讲手作体验的文化价值,后文提到当地工匠分享传统技艺,游客深入了解中国古老制瓷工艺。G选项“这种体验帮助建立和文化根源的鲜活联结。”统领全段,符合段落主旨。
5.根据上文“Today, pottery workshops have grown into a popular highlight of Jingdezhen’s cultural tourism. (如今,陶艺作坊已成为景德镇文化旅游的一大亮点。)”以及后文“More importantly, they connect visitors to tradition in a meaningful way. (更重要的是,它们以一种有意义的方式将游客与传统紧密相连。)”可知,第五段总结全文,前文说陶艺工坊已经成为景德镇文化旅游的热门亮点,后文用More importantly递进引出更深层的意义。E选项“它们满足了人们对手作体验的需求。”中主语They对应前文的pottery workshops,和后文的递进逻辑吻合。

【答案】1. F 2. C 3. G 4. D 5. A
【导语】本文是说明文。介绍了如何在生活中做出积极的改变,让你变得更好。
1.根据前文“By making positive changes in your life you can become better.(通过在生活中做出积极的改变,你可以变得更好)”以及后文“Here are some quick and easy ways to help you become a better person.(这里有一些快速简单的方法可以帮助你成为一个更好的人)”可知,前文在讲在生活中做出积极的改变,你可以变得更好,后文讲述有些方法,所以空处应是过渡句,过渡到方法上,所以F项“However, it may be tough sometimes to figure out how to do it(然而,有时要弄清楚如何做到这一点可能很难)”和前文构成转折关系,并引出下文。故选F项。
2.分析设空,位于段首,为本段中心句,根据后文“For this you can ask a trusted friend or family member for help. Being unaware of your weaknesses makes it hard for you to improve. The successful people know where they aren’t strong and they use their strengths to make up for it.(为此,你可以向你信任的朋友或家人寻求帮助。不知道自己的弱点会让你很难进步。成功人士知道自己的不足,并利用自己的长处来弥补)”可知,本段主要讲述了认识自己的不足,所以C项“Recognize what areas you are lacking(认识到你缺少哪些方面)”符合本段主题,为本段中心句。故选C项。
3.分析设空,位于段尾,是对前文的总结,根据前文“Quitting a bad habit is good for you. It not only makes you a better person, but it makes you more confident. If you aren’t ready to quit your bad habits right away, start out with small steps.(戒掉一个坏习惯对你有好处。它不仅会让你成为一个更好的人,还会让你更自信。如果你还没有准备好马上改掉你的坏习惯,那就从小步骤开始吧)”可知,G项“Find a trusted friend that can give you encouragement if you’re struggling(找一个值得信赖的朋友,在你挣扎的时候给你鼓励)”是对前文讲述的小步骤的详细说明,符合文意。故选G项。
4. 根据前文“Do you always see the negative side of things?(你总是看到事物消极的一面吗?)”可知,D项“This can have a bad influence on your life(这会对你的生活产生不好的影响)”是对前文的进一步说明,而后句“Negative thinking really makes you down mentally and physically.(消极的想法会让你身心俱疲)”是对空处的详细说明,符合文意。故选D项。
5.设空为本段小标题,是对本段的高度概括,所以根据后文“Showing other people that you care for them is a great way to be a better person. Small acts of kindness will make other people feel better and lift your spirits as well. Something just like buying a coffee for your classmates can make a huge positive impact on their and your day.(向别人表明你关心他们是成为一个更好的人的好方法。小小的善举会让别人感觉更好,也会让你精神振奋。像为你的同学买杯咖啡这样的事情可以对他们和你的一天产生巨大的积极影响)”可知,本段主要讲述了善待他人,所以A项“Treat others with kindness(善待他人)”为本段小标题。故选A项。
【答案】1. C 2. B 3. A 4. E 5. F
【导语】本文主要介绍了自言自语这一行为十分普遍,分析人们自言自语的原因以及自言自语带来的诸多心理益处。
1. 前文“Talking to yourself might seem strange. (自言自语或许看起来很怪异。)”提出人们对自言自语的刻板印象,后文“It’s more than perfectly normal — in fact, it can serve as a powerful mental strategy. (这再正常不过了,事实上,它可以作为一种强大的心理策略。)”转折说明自言自语是正常且有用的,C项“However, there are a variety of reasons why people do it. (然而,人们这么做存在各种各样的原因。)”前后形成转折,衔接怪异的表象与下文对该行为的解读,符合语境。
2. 后文“It can operate like a thermostat (恒温器), influencing the temperature of your emotions. External self-talk can also help you move towards your goals, give yourself feedback, and assist with analyzing challenging tasks. Some people also use it to prepare what they want to say ahead of time. (它就像恒温器一样运作,影响你情绪的“温度”。出声自言自语还能帮助你朝着目标前进、给自己反馈,并协助分析具有挑战性的任务。有些人还用它来提前准备自己想要说的话。)”核心讲述自言自语调节情绪的作用,B项“Regulate emotions. (调节情绪。)”作为本段小标题,总领整段内容,符合语境。
3. 由后文“One benefit of external self-talk is that it can improve the relationship you have with yourself. Instead of asking others for answers all the time, talking to yourself helps you hear what you really want and make your own choices. Talking to yourself is a way to admit you are in charge as an adult. Trusting yourself is a key factor for building self-worth and tuning out other noises. (出声自言自语的一大好处是改善你和自己的相处模式。不必总向别人寻求答案,自言自语能帮你认清内心真实诉求、自主做决定。自言自语是一种承认自己作为成年人掌控局面的方式。信任自己是建立自我价值和屏蔽外界噪音的关键因素。)”可知,本段围绕提升自我价值展开,A项“Boost self-worth. (提升自我价值。)”为本段小标题,概括段落主旨,符合语境。
4. 前文“When you communicate with yourself with curiosity, you will become more aware of and understand yourself clearly. (带着好奇和自己对话,你会更清醒地认知、了解自己。)”说明自我探寻的作用,后文“For example, you can ask yourself some questions to gain a deeper understanding of your inner world, or you can try a journaling method — write down your thoughts and answers, then read those answers out loud. (例如,你可以问自己一些问题,以更深入地了解自己的内心世界,或者尝试写日记的方法——写下你的想法和答案,然后大声读出那些答案。)”列举简单易操作的自我探寻方式,E项“In fact, this way of self-inquiry can be very simple. (事实上,这种自我探寻的方式可以十分简单。)”衔接上文,引出后文简易实操案例,符合语境。
5. 前文“So remember, even if talking to yourself feels a little odd, it comes with big benefits. Start small and ask yourself how you feel and why, and don’t be afraid to voice your thoughts out loud. (所以请记住,即使自言自语感觉有点奇怪,它也带来了巨大的好处。从小事做起,问问自己的感受和原因,不要害怕大声说出自己的想法。)”总结全文并给出实操建议,F项“This powerful practice could make a big difference in your mental wellness.
【答案】1. E 2. C 3. B 4. G 5. F
【导语】本文介绍了如何挑选和食用百香果,包括判断成熟度、摇晃和闻香、清洗、挖取果肉等步骤,旨在帮助读者更好地享受这种美味的水果。
1. 上文“It has a special flavor full of tropical sweetness, and it is easy to take with you when you go to work or just stay at home for a casual snack.(它带有独特的风味,充满热带甜味,无论是上班途中还是在家休闲时吃点小零食都十分方便。)”介绍了百香果味道甜美且方便携带的优点;下文“Here are clear and practical steps to help you pick, prepare and eat fresh passion fruit.(以下是清晰实用的步骤,帮助您挑选、准备并享用新鲜的百香果。)”引出挑选、准备和食用百香果的具体步骤。E选项“However, it takes some simple skills to enjoy its best flavor.(然而,要享受它的最佳风味需要一些简单的技巧。)”中的However与上文形成转折,说明虽然百香果美味方便,但想要品尝最佳风味还需技巧,同时引出下文的实用步骤,起到承上启下的作用,符合题意。
2. 上文“Pick ripe passion fruit.(挑选成熟的百香果。)”强调本段讲述的是挑选成熟的百香果。下文“You are supposed to pick the ones that are slightly wrinkled and in deep purple color — these are the ones that have ripened the most and will be the sweetest. (你应该选择那些略微皱褶且呈深紫色的——这些是最成熟的,味道也最甜。)”详细说明了通过观察果皮的褶皱、颜色和软硬度来判断成熟度。C选项“Consider the texture of the passion fruit’s skin.(考虑百香果皮的质地。)”概括了本段通过果皮质地(皱褶、颜色、软硬)来挑选成熟果实的核心内容,符合题意。
3. 下文“You should grab a passion fruit and shake it. If you feel a lot of liquid or pressure in there, that means there are a lot of seeds and liquid, which means a lot of deliciousness to eat. You can also determine the flavor if you smell the fruit.(百香果你应该拿一个,摇晃一下。如果感觉里面有大量液体或压力,说明里面有很多种子和汁液,意味着可以吃到很多美味。你也可以通过闻一闻水果的气味来判断它的味道。)”介绍了通过摇晃和闻气味来判断百香果的品质。B选项“Check by shaking and smelling.(通过摇晃和闻气味来检查。)”恰好概括了本段的两个核心方法——摇晃和闻香,且作为小标题格式与其他小标题一致,符合题意。
4. 根据本段段旨“Wash your passion fruit.( 清洗你的百香果。)”强调本段段旨为清洗百香果。同时空前“Once you have purchased the passion fruit, ensure that you wash it carefully even though we never eat its skin.(购买百香果后,请务必仔细清洗,尽管我们从不食用其果皮。)”强调即使不吃果皮也要清洗;同时下文“When an unwashed passion fruit is cut, the knife carries the bacteria from the skin through the flesh of the fruit.(当未清洗的百香果被切开时,刀具会将细菌从果皮带入果肉中。)”解释了不清洗的危害——刀具会将细菌带入果肉。G选项“It can keep harmful chemicals and bacteria away from your mouth.(它可以使有害化学物质和细菌远离你的嘴巴。)”说明了清洗果皮的目的,与上下文逻辑一致,符合题意。
5. 上文“You can cut the cleaned fruit into halves and scoop out the orange flesh with a spoon. Try to let as little of the juice as possible run out of the fruit (because it’s delicious.) (你可以将清洗好的水果切成两半,然后用勺子舀出橙肉。尽量让果汁尽可能少地流出(因为味道很好)。)”说明切开百香果后用勺子舀出橙色果肉;下文“Don’t scrape the skin too hard because the white layer is bitter and tastes bad.(不要刮得太狠,因为表皮的白色部分味道苦涩。)”提醒不要刮到白色层因为会苦。F选项“You will see that the orange flesh is separated from the white skin.(你会看到橙色果肉与白色果皮是分开的。)”承上启下,先说明切开后能看到橙色果肉与白色果皮的分离,再引出下文不要刮到白色层的提醒,符合题意。
【答案】1. C 2. B 3. D 4. G 5. F
【导语】文章介绍了保持生活整洁有序的实用方法,包括文件管理、定期清理电子设备及养成小习惯。
1. 上文“Most of the time, you simply don’t know where to start when you want to learn how to be organized.(大多数时候,当你想学习如何变得有条理时,你根本不知道从哪里开始)”说明人们在面对杂乱时的困惑。后文“By developing a few strategies and methods, you can finally get control of your clutter.(通过制定一些策略和方法,你最终可以控制你的杂乱)”说明这是可以学会的。空处和前文为转折关系,说明条理是可以习得的,引出下文解决办法,所以C项“然而,它实际上是一种可以学习的能力。”符合语境。
2. 下文“Your desktop should be clean and file-free. Not only does a cluttered desktop slow down your computer, but it also makes finding things painfully slow.(你的桌面应该干净,没有文件。杂乱的桌面不仅会降低你的电脑速度,还会让找东西变得非常慢)”说明本段讲的是不要用桌面存储文件。空处为本段段首主旨句,所以B项“不要把电脑桌面当作存储工具。”是对下文的概括。
3. 上文“Inside of these, I have subfolders organized according to my different roles or categories.(在这些文件夹里,我又根据不同的角色或类别建立了子文件夹)”说明文件夹的分类方法。空处和前文为顺接关系,说明这种整理方式带来的好处。所以D项“这让我需要用时可以快速找到所需文件”承接上文的整理方法,阐述其优势,符合语境。

【答案】1. B 2. D 3. C 4. G 5. F
