Many say they do this because they are interested. They hope to make some money after work. The market also makes them feel happy and satisfied.
But young people can’t make much money from trunk markets because sales fluctuate. For example, a coffee seller may sell 60 cups on a good day, but fewer than 10 cups on a bad day. When the weather is bad, they can’t go to the market at all.
People enjoy shopping at trunk markets, but some also worry about their future. Some people are not sure if the food is safe. After the market closes, there is much rubbish on the street. Before each exam season, all you can think about for days is studying, preparing, and trying to get the best scores. Even after the exams, some new worries seem to come into your mind. You may want to know, “Did I write that correctly? Why did I even waste time on that question?”
But did you know this hard exam time also teaches you important life lessons? Check out what these lessons are, and keep them in mind. They matter far more than exams and will last a lifetime.
Planning your time is the first lesson you can learn. Before exams, you carefully plan hours for each subject — sometimes even giving up fun activities or gatherings (聚集) to study. This helps you learn not only how to use time wisely, but also how to follow your timetable.
Resilience is also a gift exams give you. There are moments you want to stop when you prepare for your exams, but you keep going and keep trying. That’s resilience: the power to face problems without giving up, even when things are very difficult.
Finally, exams help you understand yourself better. You have to stay calm when surprises happen — like unexpected questions or lower scores than you hoped. Exams help you know yourself better — how you study, what makes you work hard, and what stops you. This understanding is the first step towards growth.
So next time exams make you feel bad, do remember that they are not just about grades. Every exam is secretly training you for bigger challenges (挑战) ahead. When life gives you a “surprise test”, you’ll realize you’ve already practiced the skills to deal with it.
27.What does the writer tell us in paragraph 1?
A.Students should always take all exams seriously.
B.Students often feel worried before and after exams.
C.Students can learn life lessons during exam seasons.
D.Students should forget about exams after they are over.
28.What can students learn when they prepare for exams?
A.How to use time in a wise way. B.How to give up favourite subjects.
C.How to make a perfect reviewing plan. D.How to learn through fun activities.
29.What does the underlined word “resilience” mean?
A.The ability to learn new skills quickly. B.The knowledge of one’s own problems.
C.The habit of keeping away from challenges. D.The power to keep trying when facing difficulties.
30.Which of the following shows the right structure of the passage?

Fight the Winter Chills (寒冷)
Winter can be hard time for many people because of its short days and cold weather. However, you can learn to enjoy the season.
Darker months may be difficult.
During winter, there is less daylight and it gets dark earlier. It’s often rainy, windy and cold, so being outside isn’t much fun. If you draw a picture of a happy day, it would probably have a bright, sunny sky. So you might find darker winter days more difficult.
Countries in northern Europe (北欧) have even less daylight than in the UK in winter. People there don’t wish it was brighter or warmer. They accept it and find joy in winter. The Danish (丹麦人) enjoy “hygge” which is a nice feeling of being at home with loved ones. They enjoy delicious food and drink with friends.
Hug (拥抱) the winter months.
You can’t change the weather, so make it more enjoyable. Wrap up in warm clothes, hats and gloves. Get out and enjoy the sunshine. You still can have fun even if it’s cold outside. Think about how you can feel great when you get home, too. Put on a coat, hold a hot water bottle, watch a movie and warm your stomach with soup and drinks.
A.Remember that spring is on the way.
B.People there have healthy eating habits.
C. This means you have less time to play outside.

Also, the noise may trouble people living nearby. Luckily, some places are taking action to help trunk markets develop better.

【答案】23.B 24.B 25.A 26.A
根据文章第二段第一句“They sell many things like drinks and clothes at low prices.” 选项“Things at good prices.”(价格实惠的商品)与文中“at low prices”意思一致。
24.根据第三段内容,作者举例说明“a coffee seller may sell 60 cups on a good day, but fewer than 10 cups on a bad day.”
25.根据第二段中“Many say they do this because they are interested. They hope to make some money after work. The market also makes them feel happy and satisfied.”
26.根据文章最后一段,后备箱集市存在一些问题:食品安全令人担忧(“some people are not sure if the food is safe”)、垃圾问题(“there is much rubbish on the street”)、噪音扰民(“the noise may trouble people living nearby”),但幸运的是“some places are taking action to help trunk markets develop better”说明需要管理和规范。

29. 根据第四段划线词后的解释“That’s resilience: the power to face problems without giving up, even when things are very difficult.” D“The power to keep trying difficulties”与此意最接近。

They did an 70 (interest) experiment: using a balloon to create static electricity.
“We 71 (plan) to share more experiments next week,” Tom said. Their 72 (explain) made us want to try it too. Lily likes biology best. She showed a plant experiment 73 it reminded us of how plants grow. “Biology isn’t just about memorising facts, but about observing,” she added. We were 74 (surprise) by her clear explanation. Ms. Chen said, “All sciences are wonderful. You will find joy in them if you try your best.” Everyone agreed — it was 75 useful meeting!
66.to show 67.experiments 68.Doing 69.into 70.interesting 71.plan 72.explanation 73.and 74.surprised 75.a

固定搭配a great chance to do sth.,意为“一个做某事的好机会”,chance后要用动词不定式作后置定语,show的不定式形式是to show。

固定短语put one’s heart into…,意为“全身心投入到……”,介词用into。
