Is Climate Change Affecting Our Lives?
Climate change is not a distant threat—it is already affecting our daily lives. A recent survey conducted by a research institute asked 2,000 people across the country about their observations of climate change. Here are some of their answers:
Question
Percentage of “Yes” responses
Have you noticed warmer winters?
78%
Have you experienced more extreme weather?
65%
Have you noticed changes in local wildlife?
52%
Are you worried about the future of the environment?
83%
The survey also asked people what they are doing to help. The top three actions were: turning off lights (72%), recycling (68%), and using less water (55%). However, only 30% said they had reduced their use of cars.
Scientists warn that if we do not take stronger action, the temperature could rise by 2°C or more by 2050. This would have serious consequences for agriculture, water supplies and human health. But there is still hope. The survey shows that more than 80% of people are concerned and many are taking small steps. If we all work together, we can make a real difference.
( )1. What percentage of people noticed warmer winters according to the survey?

九、阅读回答(阅读短文,回答后面的问题,每题2分,共10分)
What You Can Do to Fight Global Warming
Global warming is one of the biggest challenges we face. But there are many simple things you can do to help.
Use less energy at home. Turn off lights when you leave a room. Unplug electronic devices when they are not in use. These small actions can save a lot of electricity.
Walk, cycle, or use public transport. Cars produce a lot of carbon dioxide. By walking or cycling short distances, you can reduce your carbon footprint and get some exercise at the same time.
Eat less meat. Producing meat, especially beef, requires a lot of energy and produces greenhouse gases. Having more vegetables in your diet can help.
Reduce, reuse, recycle. Try to buy products with less packaging. Use reusable bags and containers. Recycle paper, glass and plastic.
Plant trees. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and provide oxygen. Planting a tree in your garden or supporting tree-planting projects can help.
Every action counts. You may not see the results immediately, but your efforts will make a difference for future generations.
1. What are two ways to use less energy at home?
2. Why is walking or cycling better for the environment than driving?
3. How can eating less meat help fight global warming?
4. What are three things we can do to reduce waste?
5. Why is planting trees helpful for the environment?
