Sandy is writing about some famous calligraphers. Underline the defining relative clauses in her short passage below.
There are many fun stories about great calligraphers who lived in ancient China. First, there was Wang Xizhi, the famous calligrapher who used to wash his brushes in a pond near his house. He washed his brushes so often that the water turned black! Yan Zhenqing was another interesting calligrapher. When he was young, his family couldn’t afford the things that he needed for calligraphy. Instead, he used a bowl as an inkstone, a wall as paper and mud as ink.
Calligraphy is an art form that is very popular in China. It is a form of writing which dates back over 3,000 years. Calligraphy is created with brushes and ink. There are many famous works by calligraphers that lived a long time ago. Some of the artists who created these works are well known at home and abroad.
