Good manners make the world better.
1. In public places, the English make great efforts not to touch strangers even by accident.在公共场合,英国人会尽量避免意外触碰陌生人。

5.When being entertained at someone’s home, it is polite to bring a gift for the host and hostess.翻译:当去别人家做客时,给男女主人带一份礼物是礼貌的。
(1)句中 When being entertained 是“连词+现在分词的被动形式”结构,作时间状语,相当于 When you are being entertained 。
(2)be entertained at sb.’s home 意为“在某人家中做客、受到款待”。
