3. Assign two opening discussion questions (Exercise 1) and invite several students to share simple answers. A: People who make great contributions to society can be great. B: To me, "great" means brave, hard-working and helpful to others.
4. Pre-teach core vocabulary with pictures and simple explanations: hybrid rice, mathematician, pirate, voyage, spare no effort.
