“There’s no place like home.” This English saying has much truth in it: the best place to be is surrounded by our treasured possessions and our loved ones and with a roof over our head. And for many young adults, it’s the only affordable place to stay; somewhere where they can receive first-class service from mum and dad. But this comes at a price! In some countries, it’s quite traditional for people in their late teens and early 20s to live at home with their parents, but in other places, flying the nest to start their own independent life is very desirable. But there’s been a growing trend, in the UK at least, for young people to return home to live — or not to leave home at all. A survey by a price comparison website found that 18% of adult children in the UK said they were moving back home because of debt, compared with 8% last year. More young people had lost their jobs, and others couldn’t afford their rent compared with the previous year. So, it’s easy to see why they’re increasingly becoming home birds. The BBC’s Lucy Hooker explains that many returning adult children enjoy home comforts. But for the “hoteliers”, that’s mum and dad, the survey found the average cost to them has gone up sharply, and that they are sacrificing luxuries and holidays to look after their “big kids”. Emma Craig from Money supermarket says “they’re trying to look after their children more. If your child comes home and you see them struggling financially, you feel more awkward asking them for rent or to contribute. It tugs on your heartstrings more.” With parents splashing out around £1,886 on take-away food, buying new furniture and upgrading their Wi-Fi for the benefit of their offspring, it’s easy for the returning children to put their feet up and make themselves at home. That’s before they learn a home truth — that one day it might be their own kids who’ll be checking into the hotel of mum and dad! 1. A survey by a price comparison website found that 18% of adult children in the UK said they were moving back home because of debt, compared with 8% last year. by a price comparison website是后置定语修饰survey, that引导宾语从句作found的宾语。在这个宾语从句中they were moving back home because of debt是宾语从句作said的宾语,其中because of debt是原因状语,compared with 8% last year是过去分词短语作比较状语。 Too loud. Too loud. Too loud. If you were to search through my messages with my children’ from 2020 to last year, you would find that I sent 133 of these messages. Typically. I sent these between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. The backstory to each, I’m sure, was relatively consistent: I was in bed, thinking about my schedule for the next day — a board meeting, a difficult conversation I needed to have — when from downstairs came the noise. Shrieks of laughter. Trash talk escalating over a video game. A heated debate about a book or a TV show or a person, filled with teenagers’ fierce intensity. In every instance, it was the same routine. I picked up my phone, typed two words, and put it back down. About eighty percent of the time, the message really did say only that: Too loud. Sometimes I would write a little more: Too loud. Love you. The signals that the message had been received were less obvious — a brief drop in the noise, maybe half an hour of relative quiet. Then the laughter would find its way back up the stairs. And I’d send it again. Read one way, those messages are exactly what they appear to be: evidence of a dad who wanted to sleep and couldn’t, a catalog of minor annoyances sent into the dark and mostly ignored. Looking back, I realized that I had been keeping a record of the years my house was full. Now I get into bed before 10 p.m. most nights. The house is quiet. Our dog leaps up beside me, which I’m grateful for. I pick up a book and read and feel something I can’t quite name. Grief, maybe. But mostly a spaciousness where the noise used to be. I don’t think I’d change a thing about the way things were — not the sleep I lost, not the half-hour reprieve that never lasted. Actually, I would change this: I would have known, while it was happening, what I was in the middle of. I would have known that every time I typed Too loud I was also saying Don’t go anywhere yet. But for most parents, that’s probably not how any of this works. You don’t know you’re in the good years until you’re standing in the quiet they left behind. I was in bed, thinking about my schedule for the next day — a board meeting, a difficult conversation I needed to have — when from downstairs came the noise. thinking about my schedule for the next day是现在分词短语作伴随状语,破折号之间的a board meeting, a difficult conversation I needed to have是对schedule的具体解释,其中I needed to have是定语从句,修饰conversation;when引导时间状语从句,采用了倒装结构,正常语序是when the noise came from downstairs。 Ways to Teach Kids Work Ethic Early Ever watched your child try to get out of doing housework by making excuses? If only the effort they put into avoiding responsibility could be redirected into, well, actual responsibility. In fact, building work ethic(道德) in kids doesn’t require military-style drills. Here are four simple and practical ways. ● Make housework part of the family routine. Involve your child in the daily running of the house: tidying toys, feeding the dog, watering the plants. ____36____ When the tasks become as routine as brushing teeth, kids internalise that helping with housework is simply part of life. ● ____37____ You can’t expect your child to tackle their tasks with enthusiasm while you’re complaining about loading the dishwasher. If your child sees you enjoying your work and taking pride in a job well done, they’re far more likely to do the same. ● Build determination through goals. ____38____ Sometimes you have to help them find their “thing.” Set small, achievable goals together with them and celebrate progress, not perfection. The trick is to let them struggle a bit — resist the urge to help fix things the moment they experience a setback. ● Treat mistakes as opportunities. Few things strike fear into a child’s heart like the prospect of failing. The best way is to normalise mistakes as a natural part of learning. When kids mess up, don’t jump in with a rescue mission. ____39____ Teaching kids work ethic is to gently and consistently push them toward responsibility, determination, and pride in their efforts. ____40____ No worry. Those habits you’re building now are setting your child up for a lifetime of resilience(韧性) and satisfaction. A. The key is consistency. B. Help kids develop analytical skills. C. Model the work ethic you want to see. D. Instead, encourage them to do differently next time. E. Sometimes, a cleaner living room is the best reward. F. Progress can be slow, and you’ll wonder if it’s all sinking in. G. Not every child is born with the willpower of a marathon runner. A 37. C 38. G 39. D 40. 36. 根据空前“Involve your child in the daily running of the house: tidying toys, feeding the dog, watering the plants.(让孩子参与家庭日常事务:整理玩具、喂狗、浇花。)”以及空后“When the tasks become as routine as brushing teeth, kids internalise that helping with housework is simply part of life.(当做家务变得像刷牙一样常规化,孩子就会从内心认同做家务是生活的一部分。)” A选项“The key is consistency.(关键在于持之以恒。)” 37.分析文章结构,该空为本段小标题,其余小标题均为简洁祈使句;根据本段后文“You can’t expect your child to tackle their tasks with enthusiasm while you’re complaining about loading the dishwasher. If your child sees you enjoying your work and taking pride in a job well done, they’re far more likely to do the same.(你不能指望孩子满怀热情地处理自己的任务,而你自己却在抱怨把洗碗机里的碗碟摆好。 C选项“Model the work ethic you want to see.(树立你希望孩子拥有的劳动榜样。)” ;根据空后“Sometimes you have to help them find their “thing.” Set small, achievable goals together with them and celebrate progress, not perfection. The trick is to let them struggle a bit — resist the urge to help fix things the moment they experience a setback.(有时你需要帮孩子找到适合自己的事。 G选项“Not every child is born with the willpower of a marathon runner.(并非每个孩子生来都拥有马拉松运动员那般强大的意志力。)” 39.根据空前“When kids mess up, don’t jump in with a rescue mission.(孩子搞砸事情时,不要立刻出手包揽补救。)” D选项“Instead, encourage them to do differently next time.(取而代之,鼓励他们下次换一种方式处理。)” Those habits you’re building now are setting your child up for a lifetime of resilience (韧性) and satisfaction.(不必担心。 F选项“Progress can be slow, and you’ll wonder if it’s all sinking in.(进步速度可能很慢,你会疑惑孩子究竟有没有真正听进去、学进去。)” ( If only the effort they put into avoiding responsibility could be redirected into, well, actual responsibility. If only 意为 “ 要是 …… 就好了 ” ,引导虚拟条件句; the effort 是从句的主语, they put into avoiding responsibility 是定语从句,修饰先行词 the effort ,省略了关系代词 that/which ,在从句中作 put 的宾语, could be redirected 是谓语,使用了含有情态动词的被动语态结构。 ) ( 1. drill n . 7. model v . I had already mentally planned our trips up north with the boys. I was going to spend endless hours playing baseball with you — like Grandpa did with me. When we said goodbye to kindergarten I knew it was real. I spent some time being sad. Now you are 8. You still have no words. We have never had one of those father-son moments I pictured when you were a baby. But I’m learning that’s OK. I still have unbelievable things to offer as your dad, even if they weren’t the things I originally expected. You have taught me to be patient. You have taught me that it’s OK to be different and to be sad when life doesn’t go as planned. You have taught me that it is OK to talk about those feelings and fight for what is right. Stand up and say this is wrong, and encourage others to stand up for you and say the same. My job on this earth is to create a world for you and other kids like you. Be the voice you don’t have, and build the kind of community which I want to see you grow up in. I used to shy a way from contacting people with disabilities or just not consider them. Before you were born, I was so caught up in my own world that I probably wouldn’t have even noticed. Now, I see things differently. I notice. You did that for me. And hope my example will do that for others. Your mom and I have spent 8 years trying to find your voice. And honestly, we don’t know if we ever will. I promise you I will spend my life keeping you safe and making this world better for you. 1. What can be learned about the author? A. He is at a loss what to do to help Jack. B. He is to blame for Jack’s present condition. C. He has changed his attitude to the disabled. D. He hasn’t accepted the reality up to now. 2. How does the author sound in the text? A. Ashamed. B. Caring. C. Regretful. D. Indifferent. 3. In which section of a magazine may this text appear? A. Science. B. Entertainment. C. Sports. D. Relationship. Passage 2 (2025-2026学年江西南昌县莲塘第一中学高一下学期期末)Many children try to make their parents proud. But in some families, a child’s success is always “on show”. Parents want praise from others, and the child may feel like a performer, not a person. The term “peacock parenting” comes from the idea of being “as proud as a peacock”. Here it means a self-centered style of parenting. A peacock parent may show off a “perfect family” in public, yet criticize the child behind closed doors when the child fails to meet high expectations. Over time, the child may learn that love is conditional. They may hide their real feelings, stop exploring their own interests, and start to believe, “I am not worthy.” Experts describe three common signs. The first is psychological control. When the child sets a boundary or feels upset, the parent may say, “You’re too sensitive,” and turn the blame back onto the child. This often creates a sense of guilt. The second is unpredictable mood swings. The parent can be warm one day and cold the next, making the child feel like they are “walking on eggshells”. In adulthood, this may lead to people-pleasing and weak boundaries. The third is role reversal. Some parents fail to provide proper care and attention, or even expect their child to look after them emotionally or physically. As a result, the child may grow up too fast and miss out on a normal childhood. Healing takes time, but it is possible. The first step is to be kinder to yourself and reconnect with your own interests. Supportive friends, groups, or professional help can provide the care that was previously missing. Clear boundaries can also make a relationship safer, and if contact continues to cause harm, limiting contact may be necessary. After all, there are many places to find warmth, and not all of them are under a parent’s roof. 1. What is the purpose of paragraph 1? A. To offer the solutions. B. To describe a study. C. To raise an issue. D. To explain the causes. 2. What does “peacock parenting” in paragraph 2 mainly focus on? A. Giving children unconditional family love secretly. B. Teaching children to express real thoughts honestly. C. Helping kids explore personal interests bravely. D. Showing off the family image for public praise. 3. Which sign best matches “role reversal” in paragraph 3? A. The parent praises the child in public. B. The parent relies on the child for support. C. The child tries to win others’ approval. D. The child avoids setting any boundaries. 4. What can be inferred from the last paragraph? A. Cut off contact with parents completely to stay safe. B. Try their best to win parents’ unconditional love again. C. Move out immediately to find warmer places outside. D. Build firm personal boundaries and seek proper support. Passage 3 (2025-2026学年青海海东市高一下学期期末)Bertha Ngumbi, my mother, is one of the kindest women I know. However, when I was a child growing up in Kenya with my four siblings(兄弟姐妹), her kindness often annoyed us. Whenever visitors came to our home, whether relatives or strangers, expected or not, my mother would ask us to prepare and serve them black tea. If visitors arrived during lunch or dinner, she would invite them to eat with us, which meant less food for the family. As children, we felt unhappy and sometimes even complained about it. My sister Faith especially disliked those moments when we had little firewood or when the wood was wet from rain, because making tea became difficult. My sisters and I even believed that some people took advantage of our mother’s generosity by appearing at mealtime. Years later, after moving to the United States to live and teach, I began to see things differently. My mother’s kindness had deeply influenced me. Even when I struggled myself, I still tried to help relatives, friends, and even strangers. If unexpected visitors came to my house one day, I would warmly offer them tea and food, just as my mother always did. Wanting to understand the source of her kindness, I asked my mother about it. She explained that she had learned it from her own mother, my grandmother. Growing up in a large family with eight siblings, my mother often returned home from school to discover that some of their lunch had been given away to hungry travelers. Although the children were upset at times, their mother continued helping others whenever she could. When I asked my mother whether she would have changed if she had known we disliked her generosity, she answered firmly that she would never stop helping people. Today, I fully understand her actions and remain deeply grateful for the compassion(同情) she planted in me. 1. Why did the author dislike unexpected visitors when she was young? A. They interrupted family activities. B. Her family had to share meals with them. C. They always asked for more black tea. D. Her siblings needed to serve them food first. 2. What did the author do after moving to the US? A. She avoided bothering others. B. She lived a poor life for a long time. C. She kept complaining about her mother. D. She was friendly towards others. 3. Why did the author ask her mother about her kindness? A. To memorize her childhood. B. To express her gratitude. C. To understand its origin. D. To change her mother’s mind. 4. How did the author’s attitude to her mother’s kindness change over time? A. From not understanding it to valuing it. B. From seeing it as a shame to a road map. C. From supporting it to complaining about it. D. From taking it lightly to viewing it as a trouble. Passage 4 (2025-2026学年浙江临海市回浦中学高一上学期第二次教学质量抽测)With two Olympic medals and two world skateboarding titles, 16-year-old Rayssa Leal has achieved what most people dream of. Her skills, paired with the joys she shows in skateparks, have brought her fans as well as public attention. But instead of talent and hard work, she shared that her support system made a big difference in landing her a medal at Paris 2024. At the close of the run section of the eight-woman final, Leal had failed to put down a single clean line, lowering her hope of a top three finish. She knew the game wasn’t over, but the already heavy stress on Leal’s shoulders doubled in weight. “After I screwed up the two runs, I thought I was not going to be able to do it anymore.” Leal shared her experience. It was then that she went and got support. Her family was there, and her whole team was there. Having received a hug from everyone and having heard very positive and encouraging words, she came back 100 percent, even more focused. That was what changed the game right there. Re-energized, the teenager finished the last section with her very best. And though the gold and silver were out of her reach, she never backed down in the fight for bronze. When the last skater who could beat her failed the last run, Leal said she fell into a ton of feelings. “As soon as I realised that I was in third place, I broke down. My coach was there. We hugged each other, and we cried together. And all I could think was the most positive thoughts in the world.” 1. What played a major role in Leal’s success at Paris Olympics? A. Effort. B. Skills. C. Support. D. Strategies. 2. What does the underlined phrase “screwed up” in paragraph 3 mean? A. Focused on. B. Did badly in. C. Took control of. D. Gave up. 3. What can be inferred about Leal’s attitude toward her third-place finish after the competition? A. She was still disappointed about not winning gold. B. She regretted she didn’t quit professional skating earlier. C. She regarded her last failure as her coach’s responsibility. D. She felt thankful to the support from her coach and family. 4. What lesson can be learned from Leal’s story? A. Actions speak louder than words. B. A little encouragement goes a long way. C. You cannot lose the game if you don’t play the game. D. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Passage 5 (2025-2026学年高广东广州市越秀区一下学期7月期末)One day, my young grandson Milo asked me a special favor: he needed to “borrow” a grandmother for his best friend Charlie. Charlie was my grandson’s first best friend, who had become close friends in kindergarten. “Our class is making cards for Mother’s Day,” he explained, “but when I asked the teacher when Grandma’s Day was, she said that there really wasn’t one. So, Charlie and I are going to make a day”, he assured me, “but we need a grandma for Charlie. I have two, but he doesn’t even have one.” Our house was no more than a quick twenty-minute drive away. I could hardly refuse his sweet request. Three days later, I found an envelope with two large red hearts, where a stamp would usually be attached, under my pillow: Grandmother’s Day, 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 13. At the appointed time, I knocked on the screen door. Welcoming yellow and blue balloons were tied to the handle, so I did not want to risk pulling it open. The boys were clean and excited, waiting for me eagerly. The table was beautifully prepared with lemonade, forks and themed napkins(餐巾). Every piece was covered with different stickers, such as stars, animals, trucks and cars. Mine had a warm little grandma pattern, with the words “Happy Grandmother’s Day” on it. Charlie could not hide his pride and said happily that his mother had made a chocolate cake for the event, “But,” he told everyone, “you have to eat a sandwich first. And,” he continued without a pause, “MY GRANDMOTHER came to my house yesterday, and we decorated the cake with cream together.” “No!” Milo immediately corrected. “That’s MY grandmother.” He frowned(皱眉) firmly, unwilling to share me with anyone else. Noticing their argument, I was about to kneel down and comfort them. But Milo suddenly calmed himself down, looked at Charlie sincerely and said, “Next Grandmother’s Day, we’ll prepare everything together from start to finish. And we’ll save the biggest piece for Grandma-no arguing. We’ll celebrate happily and have a wonderful Grandmother’s Day again.” 1. Why did Milo turn to the author for help? A. To act as Charlie’s grandma. B. To prepare a family gathering. C. To accompany his lonely friend. D. To draw a card for Mother’s Day. 2. How did the author react to Milo’s request? A. She felt surprised at the boy’s plan. B. She thought the boy’s idea was creative. C. She was touched by Milo’s sincere idea. D. She wondered if the plan would work well. 3. Which of the following best describes Milo? A. Caring and easy-going. B. Childish but thoughtful. C. Independent and devoting. D. Self-centered but determined. 4. What is the main theme of the passage? A. The warmth of family and friendship. B. The value of friendship between kids. C. The courage of solving disagreements. D. The love from the elderly to the young. Passage 6 (2025-2026学年浙江金华市高一下学期6月期末英语试题)Since you can’t choose your family members, there are sure to be a couple of them who know how to push your buttons and make you mad. 1 Stay calm if you get annoyed. Try not to let your emotions take over, even though it might be tough. 2 If this doesn’t work, it might be time to step outside or into the other room to gather your thoughts and collect yourself. Stand firm for your wants and needs. You don’t have to be mean or raise your voice, but don’t let anyone talk over you or look down on you. 3 So it is important to hold your ground with family. Try saying something like, “I’m only here to talk about Grandpa’s will. Please hold your questions until I finish.” Let the other person be right. Even if you don’t agree, there are some things you can let go. 4 Sometimes you can let them feel like they’ve “won”. You don’t have to do this all the time (and don’t do it for important stuff), but if it doesn’t really matter, just let it go. 5 Family issues can really wear you out. Make sure you’re eating, drinking, and sleeping enough so you feel well-rested and healthy. Take some time to do something relaxing like soaking in the bath or reading a good book to lower your overall stress levels. A. Practice self-care. B. Focus on the things you can control. C. Here’s how you can stay cool during tough chats. D. Make it clear that you’re here to be heard, not walked all over. E. If you want to get things under control, you have to take action. F. Don’t argue over everything your family says and pick your battles. G. Take some deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. Passage 7 (2025-2026学年度山东烟台市第二学期期末自主练习高一英语试卷)The kitchen has always been the warmest corner of my home, filled with unforgettable stories. When I fell ill or felt weak, my mother always cooked for me. She took great trouble to cook warm soup, steam soft porridge and prepare light side dishes patiently. 1 At that time, however, I was too young to understand it. 2 Sometimes I even complained that the soup and side dishes were too plain and refused what I disliked. I never realized that those simple meals would one day mean so much to me. Last year, I lost my mother. As I cooked dinner alone on Mother’s Day, I suddenly realized meals were not just for filling stomachs. 3 I thought about the unique warmth and care my mother put into everything she cooked. Each dish told a story, and each dish held the power to heal(治愈). Nowadays, fewer people take time to cook with their own hands. Fast-developing technology has greatly changed our way of eating. Intelligent devices and takeout services make meal preparation extremely convenient. 4 Machine-made meals only provide physical energy, while home-cooked meals nourish our hearts and warm our whole lives. 5 Stick to home cooking, keep family food traditions and hold onto the smoke and fire of life in our families. As a carrier of family affection and a bridge of emotional connection, it can never be replaced by technology. A. So let food remain human. B. They were sources of memories. C. Cooking involves complicated steps. D. All I cared about was the delicious taste. E. She poured her love into every bite of food. F. Many people choose takeout to save cooking time. G. But they can never recreate the sincere emotions behind food. Passage 8 (2025-2026学年广东清远市第二学期高一年级供题训练)Our teenage daughter is deeply into music. It feels like her earbuds(耳塞) never 1 her ears. If only 意为 “ 要是 …… 就好了 ” ,引导虚拟条件句; the effort 是从句的主语, they put into avoiding responsibility 是定语从句,修饰先行词 the effort ,省略了关系代词 that/which ,在从句中作 put 的宾语, could be redirected 是谓语,使用了含有情态动词的被动语态结构。 ) ( 1. drill n . C 2. B 3. 由倒数第二段中的句子“I used to shy away from contacting people with disabilities or just not consider them.(我过去常常回避与残疾人接触,或者根本不考虑他们。)”和“Before you were born, I was so caught up in my own world that I probably wouldn’t have even noticed. Now, I see things differently. 由第三段的句子“You have taught me to be patient. You have taught me that it’s OK to be different and to be sad when life doesn’t go as planned.(你教会了我要有耐心。 Passage 2 (2025-2026学年江西南昌县莲塘第一中学高一下学期期末)Many children try to make their parents proud. C 2. D 3. B 4. 根据第一段中的“Many children try to make their parents proud. But in some families, a child’s success is always “on show”. Parents want praise from others, and the child may feel like a performer, not a person. 根据第二段中的“The term “peacock parenting” comes from the idea of being “as proud as a peacock”. Here it means a self-centered style of parenting. A peacock parent may show off a “perfect family” in public, yet criticize the child behind closed doors when the child fails to meet high expectations. 根据第三段中的“The third is role reversal. Some parents fail to provide proper care and attention, or even expect their child to look after them emotionally or physically.(第三种是角色反转。 根据最后一段中的“Supportive friends, groups, or professional help can provide the care that was previously missing. Clear boundaries can also make a relationship safer, and if contact continues to cause harm, limiting contact may be necessary.(支持你的朋友、社群或是专业帮助可以提供原先缺失的关怀。 Passage 3 (2025-2026学年青海海东市高一下学期期末)Bertha Ngumbi, my mother, is one of the kindest women I know. B 2. D 3. C 4. 根据第一段中“If visitors arrived during lunch or dinner, she would invite them to eat with us, which meant less food for the family.(如果访客在午餐或晚餐时间到来,母亲会邀请他们一起吃饭,这意味着家里的食物会变少)”可知,作者小时候不喜欢不速之客是因为家人不得不与他们分享食物。 2. 根据第三段中“Even when I struggled myself, I still tried to help relatives, friends, and even strangers. If unexpected visitors came to my house one day, I would warmly offer them tea and food, just as my mother always did.(即便我自己过得很艰难,我仍然尽力帮助亲戚、朋友,甚至陌生人。 根据第四段中“Wanting to understand the source of her kindness, I asked my mother about it.(为了弄懂母亲善良品质的源头,我问了她相关问题)”可知,作者询问母亲是为了了解这种善行的起源。 4. 根据第一段中“As children, we felt unhappy and sometimes even complained about it.(孩提时代,我们对此感到不开心,有时甚至会抱怨)”以及最后一段“Today, I fully understand her actions and remain deeply grateful for the compassion (同情) she planted in me.(今天,我完全理解她的行为,并对她在我心中播下的同情深表感激)”可知,作者的态度经历了从最初的不理解、抱怨到后来珍视、感激的转变。 Passage 4 (2025-2026学年浙江临海市回浦中学高一上学期第二次教学质量抽测)With two Olympic medals and two world skateboarding titles, 16-year-old Rayssa Leal has achieved what most people dream of. C 2. B 3. D 4. 根据第一段的“But instead of talent and hard work, she shared that her support system made a big difference in landing her a medal at Paris 2024. 根据第三段的“After I screwed up the two runs, I thought I was not going to be able to do it anymore. 结合前文“failed to put down a single clean line (未能完成一条干净的线路)”和“the already heavy stress on Leal’s shoulders doubled in weight (Leal肩上本来就很重的压力又增加了一倍)”可知,Leal在前两圈表现不尽如人意,故猜测screwed up意为“搞砸、表现糟糕”,与Did badly in意义一致。 3. 根据第三段“Her family was there, and her whole team was there. Having received a hug from everyone and having heard very positive and encouraging words, she came back 100 percent, even more focused. That was what changed the game right there.(她的家人和整个团队都在那里。 正是这一点改变了战局)”以及第四段“As soon as I realised that I was in third place...My coach was there. We hugged each other, and we cried together. And all I could think was the most positive thoughts in the world.(我一意识到自己获得了第三名…… 通读全文,并结合第一段的“But instead of talent and hard work, she shared that her support system made a big difference in landing her a medal at Paris 2024. A 2. C 3. B 4. 根据第一段中的“One day, my young grandson Milo asked me a special favor: he needed to “borrow” a grandmother for his best friend Charlie.(有一天,我的小孙子麦洛请我帮一个特别的忙:他需要为他最好的朋友查理“借”一位奶奶。)” 根据第二段中的“Our house was no more than a quick twenty-minute drive away. I could hardly refuse his sweet request.(我们家开车过去只需要短短二十分钟,我几乎无法拒绝他这个暖心的请求。)” 根据最后一段中的“He frowned (皱眉) firmly, unwilling to share me with anyone else. We’ll celebrate happily and have a wonderful Grandmother’s Day again.” Passage 6 (2025-2026学年浙江金华市高一下学期6月期末英语试题)Since you can’t choose your family members, there are sure to be a couple of them who know how to push your buttons and make you mad. C 2. G 3. D 4. F 5. 1. 上文“Since you can't choose your family members, there are sure to be a couple of them who know how to push your buttons and make you mad. G.
