I’m a “digital native” — I’ve been using the computer since I was a kid. I do a wide range of things online. Besides doing all my schoolwork, I chat with my friends, watch films and read the daily news and other interesting articles. I also shop for various things online, such as books, computer hardware, and other necessities. It’s so convenient to be able to compare the quality and prices from different online shops before I buy. I also play computer games from time to time and I even play tennis on my television screen in my living room! My parents are worried that I may become an “Internet addict”. They think I’m playing computer games all the time, and that I chat too much with online friends. According to them, there is a danger that I may not be able to tell whether these friends are real friends. My mum keeps telling me to go out with my school friends instead. Maybe she’s right. It’s important to meet friends in person from time to time, not just on social media. Actually, I do know I need to drag myself away from the online world sometimes, especially because the real life can be just as interesting. 1.What does the underlined phrase “digital native” mean in paragraph 1? A.Someone who is good at studying. B.Someone who lives in a city. C.Someone who runs an online shop. D.Someone who is very familiar with the online world. 2.How does the writer probably benefit from doing things online? A.He sells various things online. B.He can buy things conveniently. C.He can post his interesting articles. D.He can make better friends. 3.What are the writer’s parents most worried about? A.His schoolwork. B.The addiction to the Internet. C.The problem of health. D.He doesn’t eat healthily. 根据第一段“The online world is a big part of my life. I’m a “digital native” — I’ve been using the computer since I was a kid.(网络世界是我生活的重要组成部分。我是一个“digital native”——我从小就使用电脑。)”可知,网络世界是作者生活的重要组成部分,从作者小就使用电脑,所以digital native指的是对网络世界非常熟悉的人。故选D。 2.细节理解题。根据第二段中“I also shop for various things online, such as books, computer hardware, and other necessities. It’s so convenient to be able to compare the quality and prices from different online shops before I buy.(我也在网上买各种各样的东西,比如书、电脑硬件和其他必需品。在购买之前,能够比较不同网店的质量和价格是非常方便的。)”可知,作者从网上购物中获益,因为可以方便地比较不同网店的质量和价格,从而方便地购买东西。故选B。 3.细节理解题。根据第三段中“My parents are worried that I may become an “Internet addict”.(我父母担心我可能会成为一个“网瘾者”。)” B。 B As a child, there was nothing I liked better than Sunday afternoons at my grandfather’s farm in western Pennsylvania. Surrounded by miles of stone walls, the house and field provided endless hours of fun for a city kid like me. Since my first visit to the farm, I had wanted more than anything to be allowed to climb the stone walls surrounding the houses. My parents would never agree because the walls were so old that some stones were loose and falling. However, my idea to climb across those walls grew so strong that finally I had all my courage to enter the living room, where the adults had gathered after Sunday dinner. “I want to climb the stone walls.” I said. “Heavens, no You’ll hurt yourself!” The response was just as I’d expected. But before I left the room, I was stopped by my grandfather’s loud voice. “Now hold on just a minute.” I heard him say. “Let the boy climb the stone walls. He has to learn to do things for himself.” “Go,” he said to me, “and come and see me when you get back.” For the next two and a half hours I climbed those old walls — and had the time of my life. Later I met with my grandfather to tell him about my adventures. I’ll never forget what he said. “Fred,” he said, smiling, “you made this day a special day just by being yourself. Always remember, there’s only one person in this whole world like you, and I like you exactly as you are.” Many years have passed since then, and today I host the television program Mister Rogers’ neighborhood, seen by millions of children throughout America. There have been changes over the years, but one thing remains the same: my message to children at the end of almost every visit. “There’s only one person in this whole world like you,” the kids will hear me say, “and people can like you exactly as you are.” 4.Why did the writer enjoy his visits to the farm? A.He liked the old stone houses. B.He could experience fun there. C.He could run freely in the field. D.He missed his grandfather a lot. 5.What can be inferred about the writer from the passage? A.He didn’t know the danger of the stone walls. B.He didn’t expect disagreement on wall climbing. C.He was supported by his grandpa to follow his heart. D.He became a TV program host with his grandfather’s help. 6.Which of the following can best describe the author’s grandfather? A.Open-minded. B.Adventures. C.Kind-hearted. D.Dependable. 7.What does the author’s experience show? A.Childhood matters. B.Just be yourself. C.Do whatever you like. D.Like grandfather, like grandson. 根据第一段中的“Surrounded by miles of stone walls, the house and field provided endless hours of fun for a city kid like me.(这座房子和田野被数英里的石墙环绕,为我这样的城市孩子带来了无尽的欢乐时光。)” 根据第三段中的“Let the boy climb the stone walls. He has to learn to do things for himself.(让这孩子去爬石墙吧。他得学会自己去做事。)”以及第四段中的““Fred,” he said, smiling, “you made this day a special day just by being yourself. Always remember, there’s only one person in this whole world like you, and I like you exactly as you are.”(“弗雷德,”他笑着说,“你只是做你自己,就让今天变得格外特别。永远记住,这个世界上只有一个独一无二的你,而我就喜欢这样的你。”)”可知,祖父支持作者追随自己的心意去做想做的事。故选C项。 6.推理判断题。根据第三段中的“My parents would never agree because the walls were so old that some stones were loose and falling.(我的父母绝不会同意,因为那些墙太旧了,有些石头松动且在脱落。)”和“Let the boy climb the stone walls. He has to learn to do things for himself.(让这孩子去爬石墙吧。他得学会自己去做事。)”可知,祖父不像父母那般反对作者的想法,而是尊重其选择,思想开明。故选A项。 7. 根据第四段中的“Always remember, there’s only one person in this whole world like you, and I like you exactly as you are.(永远记住,这个世界上只有一个独一无二的你,我就喜欢这样的你。)”以及第五段中的“There have been changes over the years, but one thing remains the same: my message to children at the end of almost every visit. “There’s only one person in this whole world like you,” the kids will hear me say, “and people can like you exactly as you are.”(这些年世事变迁,但有一件事始终未变:几乎每次探访结束,我都会对孩子们说一番话。孩子们总会听到我这样讲:“这个世界上,只有一个独一无二的你,而人们也会真心喜欢原本的你。”)”可知,祖父的话语让作者铭记“做自己”的理念,成年后作者也将这一理念传递给无数孩子,这是贯穿全文的核心主旨,因此作者的经历想要表达的是“做自己”这一观点。故选B项。 C Edward Bloom was a man whose life was full of extraordinary tales. From his childhood in the sleepy town of Ashton, he regarded the world not as it was, but as it could be — a place of wonder lurking beneath the ordinary surface. As a young man, he embarked on a journey away from home. He encountered a hidden odd village called Spectre, where no one ever needed shoes because the grass was so soft. He worked for a while at a circus run by a mysterious ringmaster, where he met the love of his life, Sandra, across a crowded tent — a moment he described as time stopping. He braved a frightening forest, befriended a gentle giant, and even struggled against a fish of legendary size. Edward related these adventures to his son, Will, throughout the boy’s childhood. To Edward, they were the absolute truth of his lived experience. To the increasingly skeptical (怀疑的) Will, they were totally fake and hid the real father he longed to know, causing them to drift apart for years. It was only when Edward became terminally ill that Will, now an adult, began to understand the man behind the myths. Through conversations with people from his father’s past, Will discovered that the “tales” were not lies. They were the essence (本质) of his father — a man who chose to color his life with metaphor (隐喻) humor, and romance. The giant symbolized loneliness overcome, the witch represented fear of the past, and the big fish contained the pursuit of a meaningful life. In the end, Will learns to see through his father’s eyes. At Edward’s bedside, he takes up the narrative, relating a final story for his father’s departure in which Edward transforms into the legendary fish he always pursued and swims freely away, finally at peace. What remains, and what is passed on, is the spirit of the man — the grand, romantic, and enduring story of a life well-lived. 8.Which of the following is NOT part of Edward Bloom’s adventures? A.Working at a circus run by a mysterious ringmaster. B.Meeting his beloved wife Sandra in a crowded tent. C.Struggling against a legendary giant in a frightening forest. D.Discovering a hidden village called Spectre with soft grass. 9.What does the underlined phrase “drift apart” in paragraph 3 mean? A.To travel to different places. B.To become emotionally distant. C.To argue frequently. D.To forget the past. 10.What did Will realize about his father’s tales? A.They were completely true. B.They were copied from books. C.They reflected his father’s character. D.They were meant to trick people. 11.What is the main idea of the passage? A.The conflicts between a father and a son caused by different life experiences. B.The extraordinary adventures of Edward Bloom during his lifetime. C.The appreciation of a son about his father’s romantic way of viewing life. D.The symbolic meanings behind Edward Bloom’s strange tales. 根据第二段中的“He encountered a hidden odd village called Spectre, where no one ever needed shoes because the grass was so soft. He worked for a while at a circus run by a mysterious ringmaster, where he met the love of his life, Sandra, across a crowded tent — a moment he described as time stopping. He braved a frightening forest, befriended a gentle giant, and even struggled against a fish of legendary size.(他遇到了一个名为斯佩克特的隐秘奇特村庄,那里的草非常柔软,人们从不需穿鞋。 根据第三段中的“To the increasingly skeptical (怀疑的) Will, they were totally fake and hid the real father he longed to know, causing them to drift apart for years.(对日益怀疑的威尔来说,这些故事完全是假的,掩盖了他渴望了解的真实父亲,这导致他们多年来drift apart)”可知,威尔因怀疑父亲的故事、无法了解真实的父亲,与父亲之间产生了隔阂,由此猜测drift apart意为“变得情感疏远”。故选B项。 10. 根据第四段中的“Through conversations with people from his father’s past, Will discovered that the ‘tales’ were not lies. They were the essence (本质) of his father — a man who chose to color his life with metaphor (隐喻) humor, and romance.(通过与父亲过去认识的人交谈,威尔发现这些“故事”并非谎言。 D Holidays are often described as picture-perfect moments: families happily united around a table filled with seasonal food favorites against a perfect background. For many parents, making efforts to meet such unrealistic expectations can destroy their self-worth gradually. In the real world, parents are juggling (同时兼顾) more activities from work to home. It’s all too easy to fall into survival parenting, one way where the focus is on simply getting through the day. These holidays can feel like anything but a holiday. U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy released a warning in August 2024 calling for a rapid recovery of parental well-being. Murthy along with scientists and parents sees that the modern-day stress of parenting is seriously affecting the physical and mental health of caregivers. He states his deep worries about reports that most days, nearly half of all parents feel seriously stressed. Data from a 2022 Household Pulse Survey found that most of parents — including 35% with children under 5 and 54% with children between 5 and 11 — have no formal child care support. This is surely caused, in part, by two facts: the rising costs for child care and fewer choices for child’s day care. The research shows that focusing only on getting through the day with your kids is connected to more stress and harsher (严苛的) parenting behaviors. When a mom or dad is in survival mode, it’s possible for them to shout requests and criticize their children’s behavior, instead of thinking through the impacts of these behaviors. Stressed-out parents are quicker to criticize little things that get in the way of reaching immediate goals, such as spilling (洒出) flour on the floor. And they are slower to notice and admit their child’s strengths, such as their interest in helping in the kitchen. However, bringing joy back to parenting during holidays — and any time of the year — is more direct than the “perfect” meal plans on social platforms. The secret to getting away from surviving the moment is to refocus on the future you want to create. 12.What is the parents’ real situation during the holidays according to the passage? A.They fight hard through great stress. B.They improve their parenting mode for kids. C.They effortlessly reunite with a large family. D.They deal with work-from-home tasks easily. 13.What’s the purpose of paragraph 3? A.To tell readers the fact of rising costs. B.To showcase the parents’ stress. C.To analyze causes of parents’ stress. D.To explain how to get the data. 14.What will be most likely discussed after the last paragraph? A.Ways to achieve long-term family goals. B.Practical steps to bring back parenting joy. C.Several perfect meal plans for good parents. D.The kind of future for parents to build for families. 15.Which is the most suitable title for the text? A.Holiday Daycare Crisis: A Hidden Threat to Parents B.Harsh Holiday Parenting: Stress Shaping Child Behavior C.Behind Parental Burnout: Holidays Hurting Modern Families D.Beyond Holiday Survival Mode: Rebuilding Parenting well-being 【答案】12.A 13.C 14.B 15.D 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。 根据第一段中的“In the real world, parents are juggling (同时兼顾) more activities from work to home. It’s all too easy to fall into survival parenting, one way where the focus is on simply getting through the day. These holidays can feel like anything but a holiday.(在现实生活中,父母们要同时兼顾从工作到家庭的更多事务。人们很容易陷入生存式育儿,这种方式的核心就是熬过一天。这样的假期根本算不上假期。)”可知,假期里父母的真实状况是顶着巨大压力艰难撑过每一天。故选A项。 13. 根据第三段中的“Data from a 2022 Household Pulse Survey found that most of parents — including 35% with children under 5 and 54% with children between 5 and 11 — have no formal child care support. This is surely caused, in part, by two facts: the rising costs for child care and fewer choices for child’s day care. (2022年家庭脉搏调查的数据显示,大多数父母——包括35%有5岁以下孩子的父母和54%有5至11岁孩子的父母——没有正规的育儿支持。这在一定程度上肯定是由两个事实造成的:育儿成本不断上升和儿童日托的选择越来越少。)”可知,第三段的目的是分析父母产生育儿压力的部分原因。故选C项。 14.推理判断题。根据最后一段中的“However, bringing joy back to parenting during holidays — and any time of the year — is more direct than the “perfect” meal plans on social platforms. The secret to getting away from the surviving the moment is to refocus on the future you want to create. Enjoy Fun Family Traditions You may have fun traditions with your family, especially during holidays. Kinds of traditions can help you feel closer to the people you love. You can also create new traditions together. 16 Look back on your special times. 17 They could include making family dishes, or taking family photos. Ask the adults in your family what traditions they remember from their childhoods. They might enjoy memorizing their favorites! 18 Collect ideas from your family for new traditions. You could discuss a yearly outing plan, like visiting a nice restaurant or seeing a show. However, traditions can also be simple. For example, before a family dinner, you could watch TV or play games together. You and your family could also develop new traditions, like going on a family hike. Get everyone on board. Many families have members who love to organize and gather everyone. Think about those people in your family, whether it’s a parent or grandparent. 19 They can also help plan a video call with relatives living far away. Create a keepsake (留念物). Traditions help create family memories. Consider taking pictures or filming videos while enjoying traditions. If you try a new tradition this year, take a moment later to reflect on it. Did your family enjoy it? 20 The point of a tradition is to do it again, which is totally OK for it to grow and change. A.Brainstorm new ideas. B.Here is how to get started. C.Create impressive traditions. D.Make a list of your family’s traditions. E.Is there anything new in your traditions? F.They can help you create the “guest list”. G.Is there anything you would change next time? 17.设空处位于段首,根据小标题“Look back on your special times.(回顾你们的特别时光)”,结合空后句子“They could include making family dishes, or taking family photos.(它们可以包括制作家常菜肴,或者拍摄家庭照片)”,可知需要列举一些家庭传统,D选项“列出你家庭的习俗”符合语境,故选D。 18.设空处位于小标题位置,结合第三段中第一句“Collect ideas from your family for new traditions.(向你的家人征集关于新传统的想法)”和第五句“You and your family could also develop new traditions, like going on a family hike.(你和你的家人还可以创造一些新的习俗,比如一起进行一次家庭徒步旅行)”可知本段核心内容为“收集家人的想法来创造新传统”。 故选A。 19. 及空后句子“The point of a tradition is to do it again, which is totally OK for it to grow and change.(传统之所以存在,就是为了不断重复去做同样的事情,而这种不断重复的过程本身就是一种成长和变化的过程,这完全没问题)”可知,此处需要用一般疑问句,且要表达家庭传统的增加和改变(grow and change)。 I’ve been thinking about cookies lately. And I make about a dozen 21 . It started with my mom. Every New year, she’d make 22 treat — homemade cookies. At that time, she would stay in the kitchen and I waited 23 for the cookies. It had been raining continuously for three days, and the storm showed no sign of letting up. The wind howled fiercely, causing the trees to sway violently, while the rain hammered against the windows and roof. Mary had never seen a storm this bad. It was making her nervous. As they listened to the weather report on the radio, Mary’s heart raced with fear. The report confirmed their worst fears — the city was already flooded. Mary felt a surge of panic and said suddenly, “Mum, Dad, I think we should leave here right away.” “No, it’s too late.” said Dad, shaking his head. “We can drive our car through the floodwater. Let’s leave. I’m really scared,” cried Mary. “We can’t do that, honey,” explained Mum. “The water could wash the car away.” Mary walked to the door. She could hear the rain pounding against it and she couldn't resist the urge to see for herself how bad the flooding was. “Don’t open the door,” shouted Mum and Dad at the same time, “The water could flood in.” Dad moved the dinner table against the door, in case the floodwater forced the door open. Mum gestured for Mary to sit on the sofa. “Mary, don’t worry. Everything’s going to be OK,” she said softly, trying her best to comfort her daughter. Despite her comforting tone, Mary could sense the worry in her mother’s voice. Without saying a single word, Dad walked to the sofa and sat down. He wrapped his arms tightly around his wife and daughter, trying to provide comfort and security in the midst of the storm. The sudden silence in the house seemed to make the wind and rain outside even more frightening. As the storm raged on, a sense of anxiety lingered in the air. All of a sudden, the floodwater forced the door open. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Being upstairs, they breathed a sigh of relief. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 All of a sudden, the floodwater forced the door open. The three of them stood frozen in horror as water gushed into the living room, quickly rising and soaking their feet. Mary screamed and grabbed onto her parents tightly. Mum acted quickly, grabbing a life jacket and putting it on Mary. Dad attempted to push the table against the door to stop the water from rushing in, but it was no use. Realizing the urgency of the situation, Dad made a quick decision. He carried Mary while holding Mum's hand, making their way up to the second floor. With each step, they could feel the water rising behind them. Being upstairs, they breathed a sigh of relief. They were safe for the moment. Looking out of the window, Mary could see the water continuing to rise, swallowing everything in its path. They huddled together, hoping the storm would pass soon. At this moment, the sound of sirens cut through the howling wind from a distance, indicating that rescue teams were on their way. A glimmer of hope sparked within them. Despite the chaos outside, a sense of unity and strength filled the room, reminding them that they could weather any storm as long as they stayed together. 词汇激活 行为类 ①冲进、涌入:gush into/swarm into/rush into ②抓住:grab/grasp/catch hold of ③前往:make one's way to/leave for/go up to 情绪类 ①害怕、惊恐:in horror/scared ②宽慰、安心:breathe a sigh of relief/feel relieved 【点睛】[高分句型 1] The three of them stood frozen in horror as water gushed into the living room, quickly rising and soaking their feet.(as 引导时间状语从句,现在分词作伴随状语) [高分句型 2] Looking out of the window, Mary could see the water continuing to rise, swallowing everything in its path.(现在分词Looking作状语,现在分词continuing作宾语补足语) [高分句型 3] Despite the chaos outside, a sense of unity and strength filled the room, reminding them that they could weather any storm as long as they stayed together.(that 引导宾语从句,as long as 引导条件状语从句) 原创精品资源学科网独家享有版权,侵权必究!1 1 / 12 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $………………○……………… ………………○……………… ………………○……………… … 学校:______________姓名:_____________班级:_______________考号:______________________ 2026-2027学年高一必修第一册英语单元自测 Unit3 Family Matters·基础通关 学校:___________班级:___________姓名:___________分数:___________ (时间:100分钟,满分:120分) 注意事项: 1. A The online world is a big part of my life. C.He can post his interesting articles. D.He can make better friends. 3.What are the writer’s parents most worried about? A.His schoolwork. B.The addiction to the Internet. C.The problem of health. D.He doesn’t eat healthily. B As a child, there was nothing I liked better than Sunday afternoons at my grandfather’s farm in western Pennsylvania. C Edward Bloom was a man whose life was full of extraordinary tales. D Holidays are often described as picture-perfect moments: families happily united around a table filled with seasonal food favorites against a perfect background. A.Holiday Daycare Crisis: A Hidden Threat to Parents B.Harsh Holiday Parenting: Stress Shaping Child Behavior C.Behind Parental Burnout: Holidays Hurting Modern Families D.Beyond Holiday Survival Mode: Rebuilding Parenting well-being Enjoy Fun Family Traditions You may have fun traditions with your family, especially during holidays. I have also learned to manage my time better, doing homework and after-school activities efficiently. I want to thank you for your constant support and care. Whenever I faced difficulties, you always encouraged me to keep going. Your advice has helped me grow more independent and confident. In the future, I plan to study harder and get better grades. I also want to participate in more school activities to improve myself. I will continue to be a good child and make you proud. All of a sudden, the floodwater forced the door open. A The online world is a big part of my life. B As a child, there was nothing I liked better than Sunday afternoons at my grandfather’s farm in western Pennsylvania. C Edward Bloom was a man whose life was full of extraordinary tales. D Holidays are often described as picture-perfect moments: families happily united around a table filled with seasonal food favorites against a perfect background. A.Holiday Daycare Crisis: A Hidden Threat to Parents B.Harsh Holiday Parenting: Stress Shaping Child Behavior C.Behind Parental Burnout: Holidays Hurting Modern Families D.Beyond Holiday Survival Mode: Rebuilding Parenting well-being Enjoy Fun Family Traditions You may have fun traditions with your family, especially during holidays. I’ve been thinking about cookies lately.
