C
A night from my childhood remains clear in my memory: I was standing by a pool before a village in Henan. Next to me stood many other people, both adults and children. Together, we looked at the clear night sky, where a tiny star slowly sailed across the dark sky.
It was China’s first artificial satellite (人造卫星): Dongfanghong I. The date was April 25, 1970, and I was seven. Just a week earlier, Apollo 13 safely returned from a journey to the Moon. It had been nine years since the first astronaut left the Earth. But I didn’t know any of that. As I looked at that tiny star, my heart was full of curiosity.
The adults said that the satellite wasn’t like an airplane because it flew outside of the Earth. Back then the dust and smoke didn’t pollute the air, and the velvet sky was especially clear, with the Milky Way (银河) clearly seen. In my mind, the stars that filled the sky weren’t much farther away than the tiny satellite, so I thought it was flying among them. I even worried that it might run into one as it passed through them.
A few years passed before I understood how far it is from that satellite to the stars. Back then I was reading a popular set of basic science books called A Hundred Thousand Whys. I learned the idea of a light-year (光年). I tried to picture the endless and icy darkness of space—so huge and deep that my mind couldn’t follow. A wave of fear and wonder flooded me, yet left behind a strange and electric joy. Even today, the idea of a light-year can still paint lively pictures in my mind and excite a deep sense of wonder and shock.
Satellite, stars, the Milky Way, a light-year…These seemingly (似乎) unconnected things formed the early part of my life, and also influenced the science fiction I write today.

At traditional festivals or Hanfu parties, sometimes we can see people bow (鞠躬) with their hands folded in front. Many people think it is simply a way to look elegant (优雅的). 26 .
Zuoyi has several steps to follow. To do it correctly, you should stand straight and relax your shoulders. 27 . Finally, put your hands together in front of your chest. These simple formal steps make zuoyi a polite way to greet people in their daily life, and each of these moves has a long history behind it.
28 . It is said that the Duke of Zhou invented this polite gesture. By folding their hands in front of their chests, people could show they carried no weapons (武器) and didn’t mean to fight. 29 . In addition, there were a few differences between men’s and women’s ways of doing it. Men placed their left hand over the right one, while women put the right hand on top.
Though it comes from ancient times, zuoyi has not disappeared in modern times. 30 . Its spirit of respect always reminds us to be polite to others in daily life, and it is a valuable part of our traditional Chinese culture.
A.Therefore, it served as a symbol of kindness and peace.
B.The history of zuoyi can date back to the Zhou Dynasty.
C.Then, bow 30 to 45 degrees to show your respect for others.
D.We can still see it at weddings (婚礼) and traditional festivals.
E.However, this old greeting called zuoyi reflects Chinese culture and history.
F.People don’t use this hand gesture to exchange gifts during special festivals.
31 Many vehicles fly in the city sky, following paths controlled by computers.
32 In this idea, humans live under the sea and watch ocean life through clear windows.
33 Machines at home understand people’s speech and can do daily housework by themselves.
34 Clothes can check a person’s health at any time and send messages to a doctor when needed.
35 Students don’t attend school in person but can have lessons together in an online space that feels real.
A.The Age of Flying Cars The sky above cities is filled with quiet flying cars. People no longer worry about traffic jams on the ground. Cars are controlled by computers and follow air traffic rules, which makes fewer accidents.
B.Cities Under the Sea
People build clear round cities deep in the ocean. Living inside, they can see fish swimming past their windows every day. They get all their power from ocean movement and heat from the sea floor.
C. Space Travel for Everyone
People can go to space stations for weekends, just like taking a plane. Playing games where there is no weight, and looking at the whole Earth through round windows, have become fun for young people.
D.Smart Clothes for Health
People wear smart clothes that fit closely. The clothes can check your heart, body heat, and how tired you are anytime. If something is not right, they will tell you to rest or send a message to a doctor by themselves.
E. Smart Homes
Everything in the house can understand human speech. In the morning, curtains (窗帘) open by themselves, the kitchen makes breakfast, and the air conditioner changes to keep you comfortable. Rubbish is also sorted and taken care of by itself.
F. Online Schools That Feel Real
Students no longer need to carry schoolbags to school. They put on light sets over their ears and eyes to enter the same online classroom. There, they can talk face to face with teachers and classmates, and use their hands to control 3D learning models.

Recently, Elon Musk’s son appeared at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing with 36 tiger-head bag by the Guilin-based brand (品牌) Yastee. The cute cultural handbag quickly became popular online at home and abroad, and its related styles have been 37 (complete) sold out.
Actually, much traditional Chinese culture lies in such cute creation. The bag gets 38 (it) inspiration from traditional tiger-head hats and shoes in northwest China. 39 (finish) just a single piece by hand takes local Xiuniang about a week. The beautiful embroidery (刺绣) carries special meanings: the toad (蟾蜍) on the tiger’s tongue stands 40 wealth, and the butterfly on its nose means good luck.
41 hand embroidery needs great patience, only a few can stick with it. To keep this traditional skill alive, factories offered 42 (job) for young mothers who could make a living and look after their children at the same time. So these embroidery works can 43 (make) at home freely.

10.A.discovered B.introduced C.described D.achieved
1.C 2.B 3.A 4.D 5.B 6.C 7.C 8.B 9.A 10.D
根据空后的“help from the art teacher”可知,她决定去向老师寻求援助,ask for help为固定搭配,意为“寻求帮助”;wait for“等待”或fight for“为……而战”均不符合口头向老师求助的情景,而call for侧重于“呼吁,要求”。故选用ask for表示“请求,寻求”。
4.句意:老师告诉他们:“成功离不开每个人的支持与团队协作,仅凭一己之力无法完成。”
根据“…and teamwork. You can’t do it alone.”
根据第一段中提到的前期阻碍“none of them knew how to make the puppets or design the stage”可知,他们的任务分为制作木偶和设计舞台,此时老师让他们分工,一些人制作木偶,另外的人自然是去负责设计舞台。
根据后文“to correct their mistakes”以及具体的纠错行动“They used stronger materials…”
根据上段提到的灯光问题“the lighting couldn’t meet the show’s…”
根据前文“They won the first prize!”以及“…by one person alone. Teamwork truly makes the dream work.”

Sharks live in oceans. They have been here for a very long time, even before dinosaurs. A shark is a fish, but it is not like other fish. Sharks do not have bones. They have many rows of teeth, and they are always losing teeth and growing new ones. If a shark loses a tooth, a new one moves forward to take its place.
Some baby sharks grow inside their mothers, while others hatch (孵化) from eggs. When sharks grow up, they become strong predators (捕食者). They have many ways to find food. A shark can smell one drop of blood in 25 million drops of ocean, and it can see well even in deep, dark water.
Because sharks are powerful animals, many people think shark attacks are scary. But their attacks are rare. Sharks can be a danger to people. However, people are a bigger danger to them. Millions of sharks die in nets set to catch other fish, and others are killed on purpose. As a result, many kinds of them may die out.
Sharks are an important part of ocean life. People should know more about sharks instead of only fearing them. If we want these creatures to survive, people must learn to share the sea with sharks.

Your face might appear in the next movie without your permission. This is a growing problem for many public figures (公众人物) in China. Some companies are using AI to copy the faces and voices of real people. With just a few photos and very little money, these companies can create a digital twin in less than five days.
Real-life examples show how fast this problem is growing. A popular online influencer named “Baicai” recently found that his photos were used in a short drama. The show had 41 million views before it was taken down. Even famous stars like Deng Wei are now fighting against these AI videos. At the same time, well-known voice companies are speaking out. They complain that AI is copying voice actors to save money and time.
To stop this, China has made new laws to protect everyone’s digital rights. According to these rules, companies must get permission before they use anyone’s image or voice. If a person changes their mind later, the company must remove (移除) all of their personal data. These rules also stop the use of AI to make fun of people or damage their reputation (名誉).
As AI keeps bringing new challenges, these laws are an important step in the digital age. They remind us that our faces and voices belong to us, not to computer
programs. While technology continues to grow, these laws will help make sure that every person keeps control of their own image.

15.Where is the passage most probably taken from?
A.A history textbook. B.A fashion website.

C.Changing ideas after giving permission. D.Removing people’s personal data as asked.
19.What does the underlined word “They” in Paragraph 4 refer to?
A.New laws. B.New challenges. C.AI companies. D.Computer programs.
20.What is the best title of the text?
A.Are You Using AI Right? B.What Do Public Figures Face?
C.How to Keep Safe in the Digital Age? D.Are Your Face and Voice Safe From AI?
—Liu Cixin

A.By using a saying. B.By listing numbers.
C.By describing a scene. D.By asking a question.
22.What does the underlined phrase “that tiny star” refer to?
A.Apollo 13. B.The Moon.
C.Dongfanghong I. D.A star in the sky.
23.According to Paragraph 3, why did the writer worry about the satellite?
A.Because it was close to planes. B.Because the sky was polluted.
C.Because the Milky Way was dark. D.Because it might crash into a star.
24.According to the underlined sentence, how did the writer feel about light-years?
A.Excited at first but soon forgot. B.Too scared to think about it again.
C.Upset as it is hard to understand. D.Afraid and amazed at the same time.
25.What will the passage probably talk about next?
A.The writer’s ideas of science fiction. B.China’s achievements in space.
