高考高频单词 DAY 24(说明文阅读) 板块一:真题再现 [(2020·全国二卷·高考真题)] Some parents will buy any high-tech toy if they think it will help their child, but researchers said puzzles help children with math-related skills. Psychologist Susan Levine, an expert on mathematics development in young children at the University of Chicago, found children who play with puzzles between ages 2 and 4 later develop better spatial skills. Puzzle play was found to be a significant predictor of cognition(认知) after controlling for differences in parents’ income, education and the amount of parent talk, Levine said. The researchers analyzed video recordings of 53 child-parent pairs during everyday activities at home and found children who play with puzzles between 26 and 46 months of age have better spatial skills when assessed at 54 months of age. “The children who played with puzzles performed better than those who did not, on tasks that assessed their ability to rotate(旋转)and translate shapes,” Levine said in a statement. The parents were asked to interact with their children as they normally would, and about half of the children in the study played with puzzles at one time. Higher-income parents tended to have children play with puzzles more frequently, and both boys and girls who played with puzzles had better spatial skills. However, boys tended to play with more complex puzzles than girls, and the parents of boys provided more spatial language and were more active during puzzle play than parents of girls. The findings were published in the journal Developmental Science. 24. In which aspect do children benefit from puzzle play? A. Building confidence. B. Developing spatial skills. C. Learning self-control. D. Gaining high-tech knowledge. 25.What did Levine take into consideration when designing her experiment? A. Parents’ age. B. Children’s imagination. C. Parents’ education. D. Child-parent relationship. 26. How do boys differ from girls in puzzle play? A. They play with puzzles more often. B. They tend to talk less during the game. C. They prefer to use more spatial language. D. They are likely to play with tougher puzzles. 27. What is the text mainly about? A. A mathematical method. B. A scientific study. C. A woman psychologist D. A teaching program. 板块二:核心词汇(30个) 做高考真题,记高频单词 A genius is the person who repeats the most times! 1 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 high-tech /ˌhaɪ ˈtek/ 高技术的 toy /tɔɪ/ 玩具 researcher /rɪˈsɜːtʃə/ 研究人员 puzzle /ˈpʌzəl/ 拼图;谜题 math-related /ˈmæθ rɪˈleɪtɪd/ 与数学相关的 psychologist /saɪˈkɒlədʒɪst/ 心理学家 expert /ˈekspɜːt/ 专家 mathematics /ˌmæθəˈmætɪks/ 数学 development /dɪˈveləpmənt/ 发展 spatial /ˈspeɪʃəl/ 空间的 significant /sɪɡˈnɪfɪkənt/ 重要的;显著的 predictor /prɪˈdɪktə/ 预测指标;预测器 cognition /kɒɡˈnɪʃən/ 认知 control /kənˈtrəʊl/ 控制 income /ˈɪnkʌm/ 收入 education /ˌedʒʊˈkeɪʃən/ 教育 analyze /ˈænəlaɪz/ 分析 video recording 录像 child-parent pair 亲子对 everyday /ˈevrideɪ/ 日常的 assess /əˈses/ 评估;评价 perform /pəˈfɔːm/ 执行;表现 rotate /rəʊˈteɪt/ 旋转 translate /trænsˈleɪt/ 平移;转化 statement /ˈsteɪtmənt/ 声明;陈述 interact /ˌɪntərˈækt/ 互动;交流 normally /ˈnɔːməli/ 通常地 frequently /ˈfriːkwəntli/ 频繁地 complex /ˈkɒmpleks/ 复杂的 journal /ˈdʒɜːnəl/ 期刊 板块三:词形变换(供背诵) 1. psychology /saɪˈkɒlədʒi/ 心理学 — psychologist /saɪˈkɒlədʒɪst/ 心理学家 — psychological /ˌsaɪkəˈlɒdʒɪkəl/ 心理的 — psychologically /ˌsaɪkəˈlɒdʒɪkəli/ 心理上地 — psychologic /ˌsaɪkəˈlɒdʒɪk/ 心理学的 2. develop /dɪˈveləp/ 发展 — development /dɪˈveləpmənt/ 发展 — developing /dɪˈveləpɪŋ/ 发展中的 — developed /dɪˈveləpt/ 发达的 — developmental /dɪˌveləpˈmentəl/ 发展的 3. space /speɪs/ 空间 — spatial /ˈspeɪʃəl/ 空间的 — spatially /ˈspeɪʃəli/ 空间地 — spacious /ˈspeɪʃəs/ 宽敞的 — spaciousness /ˈspeɪʃəsnəs/ 宽敞 4. significant /sɪɡˈnɪfɪkənt/ 重要的 — significance /sɪɡˈnɪfɪkəns/ 重要性 — significantly /sɪɡˈnɪfɪkəntli/ 重要地 — insignificant /ˌɪnsɪɡˈnɪfɪkənt/ 不重要的 — signification /ˌsɪɡnɪfɪˈkeɪʃən/ 含义 5. predict /prɪˈdɪkt/ 预测 — predictor /prɪˈdɪktə/ 预测指标 — prediction /prɪˈdɪkʃən/ 预测 — predictable /prɪˈdɪktəbəl/ 可预测的 — unpredictable /ˌʌnprɪˈdɪktəbəl/ 不可预测的 6. cognition /kɒɡˈnɪʃən/ 认知 — cognitive /ˈkɒɡnətɪv/ 认知的 — cognitively /ˈkɒɡnətɪvli/ 认知上地 — recognize /ˈrekəɡnaɪz/ 认出 — recognition /ˌrekəɡˈnɪʃən/ 认出 7. educate /ˈedʒʊkeɪt/ 教育 — education /ˌedʒʊˈkeɪʃən/ 教育 — educational /ˌedʒʊˈkeɪʃənəl/ 教育的 — educator /ˈedʒʊkeɪtə/ 教育者 — educated /ˈedʒʊkeɪtɪd/ 受过教育的 8. analyze /ˈænəlaɪz/ 分析 — analysis /əˈnæləsɪs/ 分析 — analytical /ˌænəˈlɪtɪkəl/ 分析的 — analyst /ˈænəlɪst/ 分析者 — analyzer /ˈænəlaɪzə/ 分析器 9. assess /əˈses/ 评估 — assessment /əˈsesmənt/ 评估 — assessable /əˈsesəbəl/ 可评估的 — assessor /əˈsesə/ 评估者 — reassess /ˌriːəˈses/ 重新评估 10. rotate /rəʊˈteɪt/ 旋转 — rotation /rəʊˈteɪʃən/ 旋转 — rotational /rəʊˈteɪʃənəl/ 旋转的 — rotator /rəʊˈteɪtə/ 旋转器 — rotatable /rəʊˈteɪtəbəl/ 可旋转的 11. interact /ˌɪntərˈækt/ 互动 — interaction /ˌɪntərˈækʃən/ 互动 — interactive /ˌɪntərˈæktɪv/ 互动的 — interactively /ˌɪntərˈæktɪvli/ 互动地 — interactivity /ˌɪntərækˈtɪvəti/ 互动性 12. frequent /ˈfriːkwənt/ 频繁的 — frequently /ˈfriːkwəntli/ 频繁地 — frequency /ˈfriːkwənsi/ 频率 — infrequent /ɪnˈfriːkwənt/ 不频繁的 — infrequently /ɪnˈfriːkwəntli/ 不频繁地 板块四:选词填空 Group A(从以下8个词汇中选择填空,每个词限用一次) 可选词汇:puzzle, spatial, cognition, predictor, income, education, analyze, assess 1. They found that children who played with puzzles between the ages of 2 and 4 developed better spatial skills later in life. The study controlled for differences in parents' income and education, suggesting that puzzle play independently contributes to cognitive growth. The researchers analyzed video recordings of child-parent interactions and found that puzzle play was a significant predictor of spatial ability at age 4. Passage B The study assessed children's ability to rotate and translate shapes — a key component of spatial thinking. Children who engaged in puzzle play performed better on these tasks than those who did not. The researchers also found that parents from higher-income families tended to provide more puzzles for their children, and both boys and girls benefited from puzzle play. However, boys tended to play with more complex puzzles than girls, and their parents provided more spatial language during play. Passage C The findings of this study highlight the importance of puzzle play in early childhood education. Puzzles are not just toys; they are valuable tools for developing cognitive skills. The study suggests that parents should encourage their children to engage in puzzle play from an early age. Teachers can also incorporate puzzles into classroom activities to enhance students' spatial reasoning abilities. The research adds to the growing evidence that play-based learning is essential for healthy cognitive development. The study was published in the journal Developmental Science, a leading publication in the field of child psychology. 板块八:单词默写(汉译英) 高技术的 __________ 玩具 __________ 研究人员 __________ 拼图;谜题 __________ 与数学相关的 __________ 心理学家 __________ 专家 __________ 数学 __________ 发展 __________ 空间的 __________ 重要的;显著的 __________ 预测指标;预测器 __________ 认知 __________ 控制 __________ 收入 __________ 教育 __________ 分析 __________ 录像 __________ 亲子对 __________ 日常的 __________ 评估;评价 __________ 执行;表现 __________ 旋转 __________ 平移;转化 __________ 声明;陈述 __________ 互动;交流 __________ 通常地 __________ 频繁地 __________ 复杂的 __________ 期刊 __________ 【参考答案】 板块一 真题再现答案 24.B 25.C 26.D 27.
