B On the first day of school this year, Joseph Riley, the principal of Pocahontas County High School in West Virginia, dropped by the band classroom and told the 38 students that the school had been unable to find a band teacher after the former teacher left over the summer to take a teaching position at a different school. “I said that we’d have to get them into other classes,” Riley said. Then he gave the students a second option. If the teens wanted to keep the Warriors band going and teach themselves, the school would support them. Most students decided to take a different class, but ten students took him up on the offer. The guys didn’t give up in the face of adversity and they found the courage to keep the band going. The ten band members elected Hailey Fitzgerald, 17, as band director, and then invited two teachers from the school to serve as advisors. Math teacher Jennifer Nail-Cook agreed to offer support. “They’re an ensemble (合奏团队) together,” Fitzgerald said. “They also had to solve a problem when they realized they had too many drummers.” The band’s latest performance was at their school’s Homecoming Day. “When we do our school song, that’s probably everybody’s favorite,” said Jadyn Lane, 17. “To see so many people supporting and cheering us on, that’s a huge motivator.” Several school alumni (校友) volunteered to join the students in the stands on Homecoming Day. “Our school is the heart of the community,” Riley said. “Everyone is really appreciative of these kids working together to make sure our school still has a band. It’s incredible to witness the progress they’ve made on their own.” Years from now, Fitzgerald said she imagines she’ll look back on her junior year as band director with pride. “It was never an option for us to quit — we all love it too much,” she said. 24.Which of the following can best describe the ten band members? B.The principal offers students choices for continuing band activities. C.The band performs successfully at Homecoming Party. D.Students teach themselves to keep the band alive. C Recently, NASA’s Artemis Ⅱ mission, a historic 10-day journey — a journey of 1,118,500 kilometers, came to an exciting end as the Orion spacecraft splashed down (溅落) safely in the Pacific Ocean. It was NASA’s first mission to the moon with astronauts since the Apollo program in the 1970s. The mission has set a new record for the farthest distance from Earth ever traveled by humans. As the Orion spacecraft returned to Earth, it faced extreme heat, entering the atmosphere at speeds of about 38,600 kilometers per hour. About 6.7 kilometers above the ocean, the parachutes (降落伞) opened up to slow the spacecraft down before it splashed down in the Pacific Ocean. The four astronauts, Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen, have returned to Earth safely. The Artemis Ⅱ mission has a large collection of “firsts”. The astronauts included the first woman (Koch), the first person of color (Glover), and the first non-American (Hansen, a Canadian) to go on a lunar mission. The astronauts were the first people to observe the entire side of the moon that faces away from Earth. They got detailed views of the moon, and noticed craters (陨石坑) and colors that have never been seen on the moon before. They saw the edges of the moon shining with light reflected from Earth. The astronauts made drawings and took photos, which will help scientists identify interesting areas for future study. They used new technology to quickly send photos and information back to scientists on Earth. The success of the mission is an important step towards NASA’s long-term goal of creating a base on the moon. The mission was also a practice run for future missions, including Artemis Ⅲ, which is expected to land astronauts on the moon in 2028. Glover noted that the moon’s south pole, where NASA hopes to land in 2028, will be a challenging area to land in and travel across. 28.What happened to the spacecraft before the parachutes opened? A.It splashed down quickly. B.It went into the Earth’s orbit. C.It entered the atmosphere. D.It slowed down gradually. 29.What is one special achievement of this mission? A.Giving birth to a new technology. B.Viewing the full far side of the moon. C.Finding out the moon landing site. D.Identifying color types on the moon. 30.Why does the author mention the 2028 moon landing? A.To introduce the need for a lunar base. B.To explain the south pole’s challenge. C.To present the next mission’s schedule. D.To stress the Artemis Ⅱ mission’s value. 31.What is the best title for the text? A.Artemis Ⅱ: Final Moon Landing Plan B.Artemis Ⅱ: Forgotten Old Space Dream C.Artemis Ⅱ: Astronauts’ Space Records D.Artemis Ⅱ: Lunar Exploration Progress D A new study links refined carbohydrates (精制碳水化合物) to facial attractiveness. Researchers found that people eating breakfast with high glycemic load were judged less attractive than those whose breakfast had low glycemic load. The study involved 104 participants, who arrived early in the morning on an empty stomach. They were divided into two groups. Both groups ate breakfast with equal calories, but one had lots of refined carbs while the other did not. About two hours later, they were photographed under the same lighting, background, and positioning. Then another group of people, carefully chosen to reduce cultural bias (偏见), rated how good-looking each person seemed. To learn about long-term eating habits, participants answered questions about what they had eaten the day before. This information helped calculate their glycemic load and energy intake, offering a clear picture of their usual consumption of refined carbohydrates. The researchers drew a clear conclusion: people who had high-glycemic breakfast looked less attractive, and this result worked for both men and women. They explained this result may come from physical changes caused by unstable blood sugar, such as changes in blood flow and skin color after eating high-glycemic food. For long-term daily diets, taking in more energy at breakfast made both genders (性别) look more attractive. Foods rich in fat and protein digest slowly, and they may improve one's appearance. However, this influence changed with different meals and differed between men and women. When it came to afternoon snacks, high glycemic load helped men look better, while low glycemic load brought better looks to women. This study has certain limits, but its results remind us that daily food choices have far-reaching influences on us. Scientists need more research to find out how diet, body conditions and social feelings interact. 32.What does the underlined word “glycemic” probably mean in paragraph 1? A.Fat storage in human bodies. B.Sugar levels in the blood. C.The speed of protein digestion. D.Calories from daily snacks. 33.What are paragraphs 2 and 3 mainly about? A.The research purpose. B.The research methods. C.The research proposal. D.The research background. 34.What can we learn about the research findings? A.Rapid blood sugar change may reduce attractiveness. B.High-energy meals have the same influence on women. C.Low blood sugar could impact people’s looks positively. D.Men are hardly influenced by refined carbohydrate food. 35.What is the writer’s purpose in writing the text? A.To explain people’s favorite food types. B.To report a brand-new scientific research. C.To study the link between diet and looks. D.To describe a biological change process. “Ama’s Love Letters” Touches Hearts Across China A short video titled Ama’s Love Letters has gone viral on Chinese social media, touching millions of viewers with its simple yet powerful story of a mother’s love. 36 Although she never went to school and cannot read or write, she has spent years collecting “love letters” — actually drawings and symbols — to express her feelings for her son, who works far away in the city. 37 A bowl of rice means “eat well”, a sun means “be happy”, and a pair of shoes means “come home safely”. Her son, now a young man working in Shenzhen, only discovered these “letters” when he returned home during the Spring Festival. Deeply moved, he shared them online. 38 Netizens described the video as “the most beautiful love letter ever written”. One user wrote, “No fancy words, just pure love. This is what family means.” 39 Many young people said they felt guilty for not calling home often enough and promised to visit their parents more regularly. When her college announced a two-day mountain hiking trip during the weekend, she immediately signed up, despite having no experience. The group of twelve students, led by their experienced guide Mike, set off early on a cold March morning. With professional outdoor equipment on him, including a small positioning device on his backpack, Mike led the way as they hiked through beautiful forests and crossed clear streams. Sarah felt confident and excited, taking countless photos of the stunning scenery. On the second day, however, the weather took a sudden change. Dark clouds gathered quickly, and a heavy snowstorm hit with fierce winds, while the low temperature turned the wet ground into smooth ice everywhere. The visibility dropped to almost zero, and Mike made the difficult decision to find shelter and wait for the storm to pass. They found a small cave where they stayed close together for warmth. Mike kept encouraging everyone to stay calm and strong, reminding them that they would overcome the difficulty as a team. The students cheered each other on, trying their best to stay hopeful. As hours passed, their food supplies ran low, and some students began to panic. Sarah noticed that Mike looked increasingly worried, constantly checking his GPS device and emergency radio. Late in the afternoon, the storm finally began to die down. Mike gathered everyone and explained that they needed to go down the mountain immediately as another storm was approaching. However, the usual trail was now covered with deep snow and fallen trees, making it impassable. “We’ll have to take the alternative route,” Mike announced, his voice tense. “It’s longer and more challenging, but it’s our only option. I’ve already sent a message to the base camp via the emergency radio to inform them of our situation and our new route, just in case we run into more trouble.” Starting down the unfamiliar path, Sarah found it much harder than expected. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Just when Sarah thought she couldn’t go any further, she heard the sound of a helicopter overhead. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 试题 第3页(共12页) 试题 第4页(共12页) 试题 第1页(共12页) 试题 第2页(共12页) 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2026-2027学年高二选择性必修第二册英语单元自测 Unit 1 The Mass Media 学校:___________班级:___________姓名:___________分数:___________ (时间:120分钟,满分:150分) 注意事项: 1. 1. Before we start our concert today, I want to talk about the man who wrote the music. Mozart was good at music from a young age. Before the age of five, he played the piano and the violin, and at five, he began to create his own music. He even performed in front of kings and queens of Europe. He became famous for his music, but he remained poor and disappointed. He made good money, but he was tired of trying to prove his worth, and his wife spent more than he made. Still, he wrote more than 600 works, even though he died at 35. I know you are excited to hear his music, and we have a wonderful musician who will play for you. He also began learning music at a young age. By the time he was 11, he was playing in concert halls. And he still has the power of youth. A Cloud Forest Conservation Volunteering in Ecuador Love Volunteers is introducing an incredible environmental project to you. A.Gentle and loyal. B.Enthusiastic and generous. C.Determined and cooperative. D.Courageous and imaginative. 25.What do we know about the band’s latest performance? 根据第二段“As the Orion spacecraft returned to Earth, it faced extreme heat, entering the atmosphere at speeds of about 38,600 kilometers per hour. About 6.7 kilometers above the ocean, the parachutes (降落伞) opened up to slow the spacecraft down before it splashed down in the Pacific Ocean. (当猎户座飞船返回地球时,它遭遇了极高的温度,以每小时约38,600公里的速度进入大气层。在距离海平面约6.7公里的高空,降落伞打开以减缓飞船速度,随后它在太平洋中溅落。)”可知,在降落伞打开之前,飞船已经进入了大气层。 29.细节理解题。根据第四段“The astronauts were the first people to observe the entire side of the moon that faces away from Earth. (宇航员是第一批观察到月球背面整面的人。)”可知,本次任务的一项特殊成就是首次完整观测了月球背面。 30.推理判断题。根据最后一段“The success of the mission is an important step towards NASA's long-term goal of creating a base on the moon. The mission was also a practice run for future missions, including Artemis Ⅲ, which is expected to land astronauts on the moon in 2028. D A new study links refined carbohydrates (精制碳水化合物) to facial attractiveness. 根据第一段“A new study links refined carbohydrates (精制碳水化合物) to facial attractiveness. Here are my suggestions for your video content. I suggest you focus on daily actions that reduce plastic waste, such as using reusable shopping bags, refusing single-use cutlery, and bringing your own coffee cup. You can film these scenes on campus or in daily life. My reasons are simple. First, plastic pollution is a common issue that everyone can relate to. Second, these small actions can inspire viewers to make immediate changes in their own lives. With a positive and encouraging message, your video will fit the theme of “Green Living” perfectly. I hope these ideas help. Looking forward to your wonderful work! I’ve already sent a message to the base camp via the emergency radio to inform them of our situation and our new route, just in case we run into more trouble.” 注意:1. 续写词数应为150个左右; 2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Starting down the unfamiliar path, Sarah found it much harder than expected. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Just when Sarah thought she couldn’t go any further, she heard the sound of a helicopter overhead. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】    Starting down the unfamiliar path, Sarah found it much harder than expected. The cold wind blew hard against her face, making it hard for her to breathe, and her shoes slipped on the ice from time to time. The path was steep and slippery, covered with loose rocks and patches of ice. Her legs trembled with each step, and her backpack felt heavier than ever. Several times, she nearly lost her footing, grabbing onto branches and rocks to steady herself. The other students were struggling, too, and daylight was fading fast. Just when Sarah thought she couldn’t go any further, she heard the sound of a helicopter overhead. Through the clearing clouds, she saw the rescue aircraft circling above them. Mike immediately turned on the emergency tool, and within minutes, the helicopter located their position. One by one, they were lifted to safety. As Sarah sat in the warm cabin, wrapped in a blanket, she reflected on the experience. Though terrifying, it taught her about her own resilience and the importance of teamwork. She knew this mountain adventure would forever change her perspective on challenges and her own capabilities. 词汇激活 行为类 ①抓牢:grab/catch hold of/grasp ②打开:turn on/switch on 情绪类 ①可怕的:terrifying/horrible ②改变看法:change her perspective/reshape her view 【点睛】【高分句型1】The cold wind blew hard against her face, making it hard for her to breathe, and her shoes slipped on the ice from time to time. C.It has helped her to be a top student. D.It has led her to a lifelong hobby. 27.What is the main idea of the passage? A.Alumni volunteers join students to maintain the school band tradition. 第二节(共5小题:每小题2. 5分, 满分12. 5分) 阅读下面短文, 从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 “Ama’s Love Letters” Touches Hearts Across China A short video titled Ama’s Love Letters has gone viral on Chinese social media, touching millions of viewers with its simple yet powerful story of a mother’s love. This is what family means.” 39 Many young people said they felt guilty for not calling home often enough and promised to visit their parents more regularly. Experts say the popularity of Ama’s Love Letters reflects a growing public desire to reconnect with traditional family values in a fast-paced modern society. 40 A.Within days, the post received over 10 million likes and comments. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Just when Sarah thought she couldn’t go any further, she heard the sound of a helicopter overhead. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 原创精品资源学科网独家享有版权,侵权必究!1 1 / 12 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2026-2027学年高二选择性必修第二册英语单元自测 Unit 1 The Mass Media 建议用时120分钟,满分150分 第一部分 听力(满分30分) 1.A 2.C 3.A 4.C 5.C 6.B 7.B 8.A 9.A 10.B 11.A 12.B 13.A 14.B 15.C 16.C 17.A 18.B 19.B 20.C 第二部分 阅读(满分50分) 第一节 21.A 22.B 23.C 24.C 25.B 26.A 27.D 28.C 29.B 30.D 31.D 32.B 33.B 34.A 35.B 第二节 36.C 37.E 38.A 39.B 40.F 第三部分 语言运用(满分30分) 第一节 完形填空 41.C 42.A 43.C 44.D 45.A 46.B 47.B 48.D 49.C 50.B 51.D 52.A 53.A 54.B 55.D 56.officially 57.an 58.were housed 59.to promote 60.found 61.which 62.excitement 63.as 64.but 65.reminding 第四部分 写作(满分40分) 第一节(满分15分,范文) Dear Jim, I’m glad to hear that you’re going to enter the short video competition on “Green Living”. Yours sincerely, Li Hua 第二节(满分25分,范文) Starting down the unfamiliar path, Sarah found it much harder than expected.
