学情分析	九年级学生已经具备描述人物职业、成就和品质的基本语言储备，但在用英语清晰表达“敬佩某人及原因”时，容易停留在简单形容词层面。本课围绕中外鼓舞人心的人物展开，学生对袁隆平、司马迁、居里夫人、牛顿等人物有一定背景知识，但需要通过听力和对话学习把人物职业、成就、品质与敬佩原因有逻辑地联系起来。
教学目标	语言能力：掌握admire, creative, courage, discovery, drop out, spread, pioneer等词汇，能听懂1a-2d关于榜样人物的对话并获取人物、职业、成就和敬佩原因。思维品质：能比较不同人物的贡献和精神品质，归纳inspiring people的共同特征。学习能力：掌握图片预测、听关键词和记录笔记策略。文化意识：了解中外杰出人物贡献，树立向榜样学习的意识。
教学重难点	重点：Who do you admire? I admire... because...；It's + adj. + of sb. to do sth.；人物职业、成就和品质表达。难点：在听说活动中准确提取细节并完整有条理地解释敬佩原因。

一、教学过程

Step 1 Warm-up（Look and share）（6 min）

1a 人物识别：Who do you see?

【教师活动】T: Show the picture and ask students to identify famous people from history and modern times.

T：I see many famous people, including Confucius, Sima Qian, Zhang Zhongjing, Isaac Newton, Marie Curie, Yuan Longping, Tu Youyou, Xu Xiake, Thomas Edison, Soong Ching-ling and Florence Nightingale.

【学生活动】Ss: Students name the people they know and say one word about their field.

【知识点】inspiring people表示“鼓舞人心的人物”；scientist, writer, explorer, doctor, inventor等用于说明人物职业。

【教师活动】T: Ask: Do you know any of these people’s stories? What do these people have in common?

T：Yuan Longping spent his whole life researching hybrid rice and helped feed millions of people. Tu Youyou discovered artemisinin and saved millions of lives. Marie Curie won Nobel Prizes in Physics and Chemistry. Florence Nightingale improved hospital conditions and founded modern nursing. These people worked hard, never gave up, made great contributions and made the world better.

【过渡语】Now let’s learn how to talk about people we admire through listening tasks.
