Not long ago, some children took part in an activity called “Creating a Space for Scientists’ Stories” in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province. They were taken to Zhejiang University to learn about the story of Zhu Kezhen. He was one of the most famous scientists in China.
Zhu was born into a family in the rice business in Shaoxing on March 7, 1890. He could read at the age of 2. From the story of “dripping water wears through a stone”, he learned that perseverance (坚持) is the key to success.
In 1910, Zhu went to the United States to study. After he got his bachelor’s degree (学士学位) in agriculture, he went to Harvard University to study meteorology (气象学) in 1913.
