In the past, I always felt stressed when I had to give a speech. I used to spend lots of time trying to memorize my speech, but I still forgot some parts. Last week, I decided to find out what the right way is to memorize a speech. I looked online and asked friends, and I found many useful methods.

Scan the passage and analyze the structure.
万能句型:In the past, I always felt + 情绪形容词 + when I had to + 动作,用来引出过去的挑战
用used to描述过去的习惯 / 问题,再用but转折,突出困境
用decide to… 来描述目标,下定决心克服挑战
提取范文的核心句型:
In the past, I always felt …when I had to …
I used to spend lots of time trying to … , but I still ...
Last week, I decided to … I … , and I found many useful methods.
I learnt how to create a speech outline. Instead of trying to remember every word of my speech, I remembered the key words first. Then I formed images of these key words in my mind, and linked them in order.
Another method is to divide the speech into short sections. I practised the first section until I could fully recall it. Then I moved on to the next. This helped me to find out which parts of the speech I needed to work on the most.
How does Bill introduce the memory methods?
Finally, a friend told me that 1 should have confidence in myself. Nobody knows my speech except me. If I do forget some words, I shouldn’t panic. Just remember the keywords and continue!

In the past, I always felt frustrated when I learnt new English words. I used to memorize them by repeating many times, but I forgot them easily just a few days later. This memory challenge really made me upset, and I decided to find a better way to remember words well. My goal is to remember 20 new English words every week and be able to use them correctly after a month. I came up with three useful methods to help myself.
Post-writing
First, I will use the spaced repetition method. I plan to review new words at different times — one day, three days, and seven days after learning them. This way, the words can stay in my long-term memory instead of being forgotten quickly.
Another method is to create word associations. For each new word, I will link it with a funny image, a short story, or even a Chinese word that sounds similar. I believe this will make the words more interesting and easier to recall.
Finally, I will use the new words actively. I will try to make sentences with them, write short passages, or even use them in my daily talks with my deskmate. Using words in real situations is the best way to remember them.
I have followed these methods for three days, and I can remember more words now. I know it will take time, but I believe I will get better soon!
