The pain brought him great suffering, yet he never let illness stand in his way. After his death, people finally realized his huge contribution to art.
Ludwig van Beethoven met similar difficulties. He began to lose his hearing at around 30 years old. As time went by, he could not hear any sound at all. However, he faced the trouble with great courage. Instead of giving up music, he wrote some of his most wonderful masterpieces after he lost his hearing completely.
Their stories together with Hawking’s tell us that difficulties are not barriers. A positive attitude and strong will can help us overcome any trouble in life. We should never let hard times stop us from working towards our goals.

Ⅷ 范文
Stephen Hawking is recognized as one of the most inspiring scientists in history. His life is harder than most people’s. The terrible disease robbed him of the ability to walk and speak, which brought him the most painful suffering. However, he kept a more positive attitude than many people and never let illness stand in his way. He made the most valuable contributions to the study of the universe. Compared with his great troubles, my small exam failures are far less terrible. Sometimes I feel hopeless when I get low marks, but Hawking’s story cheers me up. The most valuable lesson I learn is to overcome all difficulties and never give up my life goals.
