Have you ever heard some people describe themselves as “I people” or “E people”? Do you want to know what these letters mean?
These people describe themselves in terms of the personality types (人格类型) classified (分类) by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). The test was developed by Isabel Myers and her mother Katharine Briggs according to their work with Carl Jung’s ideas about personality types.

Dishes of worry
Discussions show people’s need to know what they are eating
“预制菜”惹争议,明码标识成焦点
The term “pre-made dish” has been a hot topic over the past few weeks.
In September, celebrity businessman Luo Yonghao said on Sina Weibo that many dishes of the restaurant brand Xibei were pre-made. But Xibei denied this and invited the public to visit their kitchens. During these visits, people discovered frozen broccoli that could last for two years. This led to more controversy. On Sept 15, Xibei apologized in an open letter, saying they had fallen short of customers’ expectations.
What are “pre-made dishes”? According to a 2024 government notice, they are prepackaged foods made from farm products and processed in factories. Pre-made dishes need to be heated or cooked before eating. Fresh vegetables and ready-to-eat foods such as salads and pizzas are not considered pre-made.
Many people worry that the additives in pre-made dishes may cause health problems. Tan Guijun from Tianjin First Central Hospital told Xinhua that if these dishes are made, stored and cooked following food safety rules, they can provide enough nutrition for our bodies.
As the food industry grows quickly and life gets busier, many people agree that pre-made dishes have become an unavoidable trend. However, what matters is that restaurants are honest with customers about what they’re serving. At present, there are no clear rules requiring them to do so. Most businesses often choose not to provide this information, Legal Daily reported.
The government has been working to fix the problem. A draft of the national food safety standards for pre-made dishes has already been approved by experts. It will soon be open for public comment. These standards clearly explain what pre-made dishes are, and restaurants will have to tell the public if and how they use them.
11. Which of the following products is considered a pre-made dish, according to the text?
A. Canned fruit. B. Potato chips. C. Frozen chicken soup. D. Vegetable salads.
12. Why do many people dislike pre-made dishes?
A. They are usually expensive. B. They don’t have enough nutrients.
C. They might be unhealthy. D. They are hard to keep fresh.
13. What is Tan Guijun’s opinion about pre-made dishes?
A. They are not unhealthy. B. They are quite convenient.
C. They are an unavoidable trend. D. They cause health problems.
14. What does the underlined word “draft” in the last paragraph probably mean?
A. 通知 B. 方法 C. 草案 D. 趋势
15. What might happen in the future with pre-made dishes?
A. They will become less popular. B. Restaurants won’t be allowed to use them.
C. They will be healthier and more nutritious. D. Customers will be told how they are used.
D
Have you heard of the saying “If you fall off the horse, get back on.”? It means that things may get difficult, and you may make many mistakes. But you should have the passion (激情) and energy to keep going. This is called perseverance (毅力). It can help you get a lot of things.
Perseverance means keeping doing something for a long time. It doesn’t matter whether it is easy or difficult. For example, you practise a trick on your bike again and again. Or you finish a picture without giving up. These show perseverance. Florence, a 13-year-old girl, says, “It means never giving up and trying hard to push yourself. I go running with my mum three times a week. Sometimes I feel good and sometimes I don’t. But I still do it because I want to be the fastest in my class. Whether in good situations or bad ones, we need perseverance.”
Studies show that when you feel hopeful and work for a goal you really want, it can reduce stress (压力) and make you feel happier. When you get something you worked hard for and face difficulties on the way, it can develop your confidence and make you feel braver to try new things. Angela Duckworth is an expert (专家) on people’s thoughts and feelings. She studies perseverance and calls it “grit”. She thinks that having grit is really important for us to succeed. She says, “No matter how talented (有天赋的) you are at something or how well you do in school, you must have grit. When things are hard, perseverance is even more important. It can help you get past the hard times and reach your goals.” Duckworth believes perseverance is something anyone can learn. The best way to learn it is to have a growth mind. This means believing that your brain can grow. You can get anything if you put your mind to it. As the book The Big Life Journal says, “People with a growth idea know they can get better by working hard. They keep trying even when things are difficult.”
16. Why does the writer take Florence for example in Paragraph 2?
A. To introduce what perseverance means. B. To talk about how to train running skills.
C. To present the advantages of perseverance. D. To show the importance of staying with parents.
17. According to the passage, what can help us reduce stress?
A. Developing talents through mistakes. B. Building confidence in hard situations.
C. Trying hard for our dreams with hope. D. Keeping doing things without thinking.
18. Which of the following would the writer most probably agree with?
A. Goals are easier to reach in difficult times.
B. Talent is the most important for us to succeed.
C. Being clever will help us do well in our lessons.
D. Knowing we can get better helps us develop grit.
19. What is Paragraph 3 mainly about?
A. What perseverance means. B. What perseverance includes.
C. How to practice perseverance. D. How perseverance is good for you.
20. What is the best title for the passage?
A. The Power of Perseverance B. The Tips to Reach the Goals
C. The Ways to Solve Problems D. The Meaning of Thinking Habits

五、阅读表达(共5小题,计10分)阅读短文,回答下面的问题
More than just an apron
Cartoon starts a debate on gender roles
围裙不必是妈妈的标配
Recently, the famous Chinese animated series Big-Head Son and Small-Head Dad has started a heated debate about gender roles.
At the center of these discussions is “Apron Mom”, who many people said seems to be there only to serve the father and son. Social media influencer “Maebo” started the conversation with her post, “Apron Mom, when can you take off your apron?” The post drew a lot of attention. Many people shared scenes from the cartoon that showed moms in old-fashioned ways, and they talked about why that’s a problem.
Apron Mom is not alone, as mothers are shown wearing aprons and doing housework in many children’s books and shows. For example, in the Japanese anime Crayon Shin-chan, the mother is shown as someone who deals with all kinds of housework every day. Xiao Yuman, a mother from Xi’an, Shaanxi, believes that the very name “Apron Mom” makes her a family servant. The father’s job as an engineer is often mentioned, while the mother’s job is seldom talked about. “This strengthened the traditional idea that men work outside the home while women stay inside,” said Xiao.
For Maebo, the strong response to this cartoon shows wider social progress. She believes that, as a classic cartoon, the characters are well known to almost every family, but looking at the story from Apron Mom’s perspective feels like a fresh point of view. “It’s about how women’s voices are growing stronger as they take part more in society,” she said.

C. Being clever will help us do well in our lessons.
D. Knowing we can get better helps us develop grit.
19. What is Paragraph 3 mainly about?

三、短文还原(共5空,每小题2分,计10分)
阅读短文,从短文下面的六个句子中选择五个还原到短文中,使短文通顺完整、衔接自然。
We have a saying that “filial piety (孝敬) is the most important of all virtues (美德).” This shows how important it is for Chinese people to respect and take care of their parents. In China, filial piety has been a key value for thousands of years, shaping how families live and how society works.
____21____ They feed us, take care of us, and teach us right from wrong. It’s only natural that we should feel grateful and want to repay them for their love and care. For teenagers, filial piety means trying to make parents happy, whether it’s through small actions or bigger efforts.
In China, students often express filial piety in meaningful ways. For example, they help wash their parents’ feet, cook meals for them, or write heartfelt thank-you cards. These small gestures may seem simple, ____22____ By doing these things, we make our relationship with our parents closer, which is good for both our families and ourselves.
Confucius (孔子), the great Chinese philosopher, believed that filial piety goes beyond just loving your parents. He taught that if everyone is good to their parents, they will also be kind and respectful to others. ____23____ Then we could bring peace to the world. I think this is a brilliant idea. It means that filial piety is not only about loving your parents, ____24____
To me, filial piety is something we should practise for our whole lives. We can show it by being there for our parents when they feel lonely, helping them with housework, or giving money when needed. These actions show true kindness and love. ____25____—it’s also the foundation of a better society.
A. but they carry deep love and thankfulness.
B. but about loving everyone!
C. Our parents do so much for us.
D. Filial piety is the most important virtue.
E. This kindness can stop fights and bring peace to society.
F. Let’s remember that being good to our parents is not just a duty
【答案】21. C 22. A 23. E 24. B 25. F
【解析】
【导语】本文阐述了孝道在中国的重要地位、青少年践行孝道的方式、孔子对孝道的见解,以及作者对孝道的理解和践行建议。
【21题详解】
第二段空格后一句紧接着说“They feed us, take care of us, and teach us right from wrong.”,这里的“They”指代的是复数名词且是能照顾我们的人。选项C“Our parents do so much for us.”中的“Our parents”正好是“They”的指代对象,且语意连贯。
【22题详解】
第三段空格前一句说“These small gestures may seem simple”,暗示后面会有转折,说明虽然简单但意义深远。选项A“but they carry deep love and thankfulness.”中的“but”表示转折,“they”指代前面的“gestures”,符合逻辑。
【23题详解】
第四段空格前“He taught that if everyone is good to their parents, they will also be kind and respectful to others.”提到孔子认为对父母好的人也会对他人友善,空格后提到“Then we could bring peace to the world.”。选项E“This kindness can stop fights and bring peace to society.”中的“This kindness”承接前文的友善,“bring peace”与后文呼应。
【24题详解】
第四段空格前“filial piety is not only about loving your parents”中的“not only”通常与“but (also)”搭配。选项B“but about loving everyone!”与前文构成了完整的“not only ... but ...”结构,且升华了孔子思想的主题。
【25题详解】
第五段空格后是破折号连接的解释说明内容“it’s also the foundation of a better society”,其中“also”暗示前文应该有“not just/only”之类的表述。选项F“Let’s remember that being good to our parents is not just a duty”中的“not just”与后文的“also”完美对应。

【答案】例文
Making AI work for your studies
AI tools have become an important part of our studies lately. For example, I use DeepSeek to search for information quickly, and Doubao helps me practice speaking English.
With these AI tools, instead of spending hours searching for facts, I can find what I need in seconds. They are available anytime, so I can get help whenever I need it. However, it’s important to use AI tools wisely. Although they are helpful, we shouldn’t rely on them for everything. Also, we should always double-check the information because AI doesn’t always get it right.
All in all, let’s make the most of these amazing tools to learn better and be prepared for the future.
