There are different opinions when it comes to nighttime snacking and whether or not it’s healthy.
Advantages to eating before bed include sleeping better and maintaining blood sugar levels. Even in sleep, your body needs energy to function, as it’s recovering from the previous day. Choosing right snacks is not only good for you, but they’ll also reduce hunger and give your body the energy it needs to recover at night.
Disadvantages to eating before bed include poor sleep, eating more, unhealthy choices, heartburn and other health risks. Actually, the foods you eat can change your sleep patterns. Foods containing caffeine (咖啡因) like chocolate and coffee may seem like a good idea before bed, but the caffeine raises your energy and may cause you to wake up several times in the middle of the night.
Whether it is good or bad to eat snacks, it depends on what you eat and at what time of the day. Healthy snacks like apples and peanut butter or avocado (牛油果) toast contain excellent nutrients (营养物). Foods like fruits and nuts can also adjust blood sugar levels.
24.Which of the following is the advantage of eating before bed?
A.Losing weight. B.Sleeping better.

25.Why can’t we drink too much coffee before bed?
A.It can contribute to poor sleep. B.It can make you eat more food.
C.It can change your meal size. D.It can result in gaining weight.

C.By choosing varieties and eating time. D.By choosing prices and production date.
27.What is the text mainly about?

It was not love at first read; it was rather a serendipitous (偶然的) encounter.
Ever since my childhood I had believed that books are not for me. I tried, but failed. I borrowed Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone from an older cousin at age 12 and couldn’t complete a chapter. I borrowed The Da Vinci Code from another cousin at 15 and, again, failed to understand anything at all. Other than that, I had no interest in reading books.
But then my friend had written a piece for a competition and she wanted us to run it through before she handed it in. It was a short story of no more than a hundred words, titled something on the lines of “Meeting a dead man”. As she began reading it out, I experienced something I had never experienced before. I saw myself walking in the park in the foggy morning hours. I saw a man with a grey scarf sitting on an old wooden bench. I felt fear. I felt curious to know his story. That moment, my journey into the world of books began.
Over the years I figured out that I’m more of a visual and kinesthetic (动觉的) person. I understand information largely through pictures and feelings. When I read a book, I see the video playing in my head and I feel the emotions in my body. A friend of mine suggested I read A Thousand Splendid Suns and The Kite Runner, two masterpieces by Khaled Hosseini. These books fire d an interest in writing for the first time in my life, paving the way for my writing journey.
I feel extremely lucky to have read some of the beautiful literary works and my list continues to grow. My heartfelt thanks go out to the writers and readers who inspired me at different stages of my life and introduced me to books that changed and continue to change my life.
28.How does the author describe his first relation with books?
A.By listing numbers. B.By giving examples.

A.A talk with an old man. B.The life story of a man.
C.A special writing competition. D.A piece of writing by his friend.
30.How did Khaled Hosseini’s writings influence the author?
A.They aroused his interest in writing. B.They showed him how to express emotions.
C.They taught him ways to understand information. D.They helped him figure out his favorite book type.
31.Which of the following would be the best title for the text?
A.My Experience of Reading B.The World’s Best Reads
C.My Change from Reading to Writing D.Reading: A Source of Knowledge

Many companies have advertised a feature that enables users to employ AI as a recipe generator assistant. In one demonstration (展示,演示), a user asks the virtual assistant for a meal plan with ingredients (食材) they have, and the AI returns a list of recipes (食谱) using those ingredients. In fact, the employment of AI in the brainstorming stage is also gaining increasing popularity. While that seems convenient, most of the press about the relationship between AI and cooking has been negative so far.
For years, chefs on popular video platforms have staged cook-offs between “real” and AI recipes, with the “real” chefs often winning. In 2025, Tasty, an online platform, compared a chocolate cake recipe generated by an AI tool with one developed by a professional cook. While the AI recipe baked up fine, the cook’s recipe won in a blind taste test. The tasters preferred the cook’s cake for its not-too-sweet and juicier flavor compared to the AI cake.
Sarah and Kaitlin Leung are sisters who run a famous food blog. Their recipes go through a long process. They brainstorm ideas, do research, and experiment a lot before testing each recipe up to 40 times. “We know that our readers are trusting us, so we try to make sure our recipe not only works but is also easy to follow,” Sarah says. “The stories that surround these recipes and the connections that we make with people through these recipes are priceless — it’s so deeply human. By comparison, the machine doesn’t eat and the machine can’t taste.”
“It’s not all negative for me.” A software engineer Olson believes AI has a place in the recipe development process. He adds, “but I don’t think the technology is there to the point where you can have an entirely AI-generated blog, although that would be a cool concept. Maybe someone should try it and see how it goes.”
32.What can AI do in developing a recipe?
A.Planning the budget.
B.Shortening cooking time.
C.Coming up with ideas.
D.Demonstrating cooking methods.
33.What can we know about the competition launched by Tasty?
A.The AI tool was developed by a cook.
B.The result agrees with those of previous years.
C.The cook’s cake tasted sweeter and juicier.
D.The comparison was based on the appearance.
34.How do the sisters ensure the quality of their recipes on their food blog?
A.By doing multiple tests.
B.By learning the recipes from AI.
C.By using priceless ingredients.
D.By following standard procedures.
35.What is Olson’s attitude towards entirely AI-generated blogs?
A.Approving. B.Unconcerned.
C.Cautious. D.Negative.
第二节(共5小题:每小题2. 5分, 满分12. 5分)
阅读下面短文, 从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Everyone feels anxious or nervous at times. Feelings like these can surface when you face a challenge. 36 You might feel anxious when it’s your turn to speak in class. These feelings can be uncomfortable, but you can manage with the help of the following tips.
●Start with a growth mindset (思想倾向).
Some people have a fixed mindset. They might think, “This is how I am. I get anxious before speaking in class. So I don’t raise my hand.” With a fixed mindset, people don’t think things can change. But people with a growth mindset know they can get better at just about everything — with effort and practice. 37
●Notice what anxiety feels like for you.
Get to know the body feelings that are part of anxiety. When you’re anxious, do you feel “butterflies”? Shaky hands? A faster heartbeat? Know that these feelings are part of the body’s normal response to a challenge. 38 Next time they happen, try to notice the feelings without getting upset. Accept them and let them be there.
● 39
When you’re anxious, it’s common to tell yourself things like, “I can’t do this.” Or “What if I mess this up?” Instead, tell yourself something that could help you face the moment with a bit of courage, “It’s OK to feel anxious. I can do this anyway.” It’s facing the anxiety that helps you manage it. This is called exposure.
Learning to cope with anxiety takes time and patience. Most of all, it takes practice and willingness to face it. It starts with one small step. 40
A.Give it all of your attention.
B.That includes dealing with anxiety.
C.Talk yourself through anxiety and face it.
D.They’re not harmful and they fade on their own.
E.It can help you “reset” and be ready to move forward.
F.For example, you might feel nervous before taking big exams.
G.The more you practice, the better you’ll get at managing anxiety.

There are different opinions when it comes to nighttime snacking and whether or not it’s healthy.

C.Cautious. D.Negative.
【答案】37.C 33.B 34.A 35.C
【导语】主要讨论许多公司宣传人工智能可作为食谱生成助手,在头脑风暴阶段的应用也越来越受欢迎,但目前关于人工智能与烹饪关系的报道大多负面。
【详解】32.细节理解题。根据第一段“Many companies have advertised a feature that enables users to employ AI as a recipe generator assistant. In one demonstration, a user asks the virtual assistant for a meal plan with ingredients they have, and the AI returns a list of recipes using those ingredients. In fact, the employment of AI in the brainstorming stage is also gaining increasing popularity.(许多公司都宣传了一项功能,使用户能够将人工智能用作食谱生成助手。在一次演示中,用户向虚拟助手询问一份使用他们现有的食材的膳食计划,人工智能会返回一份使用这些食材的食谱列表。事实上,人工智能在头脑风暴阶段的应用也越来越受欢迎)”可知,人工智能在开发食谱时可以提出想法。
33.推理判断题。根据第二段“For years, chefs on popular video platforms have staged cook-offs between “real” and AI recipes, with the “real” chefs often winning. In 2025, Tasty, an online platform, compared a chocolate cake recipe generated by an AI tool with one developed by a professional cook. 34.细节理解题。根据第三段“Their recipes go through a long process. They brainstorm ideas, do research, and experiment a lot before testing each recipe up to 40 times.(她们的食谱要经过一个漫长的过程。在对每个食谱进行多达40次测试之前,她们要集思广益、做研究并进行大量实验)”可知,姐妹俩通过多次测试来确保美食博客上食谱的质量。

He adds, “but I don’t think the technology is there to the point where you can have an entirely AI-generated blog, although that would be a cool concept. Maybe someone should try it and see how it goes.”(软件工程师奥尔森认为人工智能在食谱开发过程中有一席之地。
