At a UK primary school, students now have a very special friend. His name is Scooby. Every morning, the children are excited to get to school to see him. He is not just any dog—he is a therapy dog, trained to bring people comfort, joy, and support.
Scooby is friendly and playful. He enjoys playing football and spending time with the children. If a student feels worried or sad, they can visit Scooby in his room. He helps them feel better. The children like him very much, so they even write a song about him and sing it every morning.

Just as he starts, he hears a sad voice, “Please, don’t cut me!” Tim is shocked. He looks around but sees no one. He tries again.

I am sitting on a seat in the park, enjoying the sunny day. I can see two brothers racing on their skateboards (滑板). The one in front is laughing and calling to the other to go faster. The one behind seems angry and hurt. He is trying hard to keep up with his elder brother.
It makes me think of myself as a boy. I was always competing with (和……竞争) my elder brother, George. He was better than me at everything. He was stronger, faster, and cleverer. I tried hard to beat (打败) him at something—anything. But I never could. I felt angry with myself. I told myself that one day I would beat him—and it would feel good.
Then I remember a special evening, the evening of my first victory (胜利) over George. We got our final exam (期末考试) results, and mine were very good. At dinner I wanted to show them to my parents, but I waited for George to speak first. Strangely, he didn’t say a word. He didn’t look at me, or at Mum or Dad. He just ate a little bit and then went to his room.
I didn’t know what happened. Then it hit me. George did badly in his exams! At last, I was better than George! But I didn’t feel happy. I only felt sorry for my poor brother. Victory is not sweet.
I found George in his room, sitting on his bed with his head in his hands. He was crying silently. I put my arms around him and said: “Don’t worry, George. I still believe in you. You’re the best.” He put his arms around me. “No—you’re the best. The best brother in the world!”

【答案】例文
Hi Alex,
I’m Li Hua, a Chinese student. I saw your post and I’m glad to share something about our Spring Festival.
It’s one of the most important festivals in China. It usually comes in January or February. During the festival, my family members get together and enjoy big meals. Dumplings are a must because they stand for good luck.
But not everyone can celebrate it with family. Many people like doctors, nurses, and policemen have to work. It can be lonely and tiring for them. My uncle is an ER doctor. He always works and has little time for us at festivals. But he never regrets his decision to help patients.
I hope this helps. Welcome to learn more about Chinese culture! Happy Spring Festival!

This school has 160 students. Many of them need extra support—about 60 have special needs, and 93 are newcomers who speak a different language (语言) at home. Scooby helps everyone. For example, some children used to be very quiet, but now they often smile and say “hello” and call him by name.
Because of Scooby, the school feels different. The headteacher says more children want to come to school now—just to see him. “Children often talk to Scooby first,” says his trainer (训犬师) , Gary Jordan. “He just listens quietly and never points out their mistakes. He just lets them pet him.”

Then, he sees a very little tree. It is small and young. Tim remembers what his science teacher said about how trees grow. He wants to know what the inside of a young tree looks like. So he takes out a small knife and wants to cut the tree.
Just as he starts, he hears a sad voice, “Please, don’t cut me!” Tim is shocked. He looks around but sees no one. He tries again.
“Stop! Please don’t hurt me!” the voice says again. Tim looks down and realizes the little tree is talking to him!
Suddenly, a big and strong tree next to the little one speaks with a deep voice, “Please don’t hurt my young friend. What did it do to you?”
Tim answers, “Nothing.”
“Then why are you hurting it?” the big tree asks. It then says, “Let me tell you why we are important.”

I look again at the two boys racing around the park on this bright afternoon and smile to myself. Yes, they are competing now, but they will learn. Having a brother is better than winning a race.
