文章第二部分“Classic European Symphony Concert”中明确提到“The Vienna Chamber Orchestra will bring a wonderful concert to classical music fans... offering pure and elegant classical music”,因此该项活动符合要求。
文章第三部分“Ballet Swan Lake”中提到“English and Chinese explanations are shown on the screen during the performance.”,即演出期间屏幕上会显示英文和中文的解说,与B项“提供两种语言的屏幕注释”一致。

文章第二段明确写道:“he was diagnosed with late-stage blood cancer. It describes his battle with cancer, the support system that sustained him, his struggles, and training for the Ironman.”
第三段中 Valsan 明确表示:“I wanted to send a message to anyone facing a difficult time that tough times are a challenge for us to grow.”
第四段最后一句写道:“But with just a mile or so to go, his body gave up, and he was forced to sit on the side of the road.”
D项“From Cancerman to Ironman”最符合。
第三段明确写道: “Originally, the two bacteria disturbed each other’s growth, so either little material was produced or it remained uncolored.”
第四段提到:“Most colors stayed strong, and some even did better than traditional dyes in washing tests.”
最后一段中 Lee 表示:“Real progress... will require people to care more about environment than price.”

文中多处将机器人与传统设备作对照: “something traditional wheeled vehicles cannot do” 指出传统轮式车辆做不到的事; “Where a truck or a car would get stuck... the robot simply walks over them” 用卡车被卡住反衬机器人轻松越过; “It can climb stairs that would stop any wheeled machine” 强调能爬楼梯而任何轮式机器都会被挡住; “unlike conventional communication systems that go silent once towers are destroyed” 说明不像传统通信系统会因信号塔被毁而中断。
第三段明确指出 “they establish reliable two-way communication with command centers”以及“use microphones and speakers to communicate with trapped people”,即机器人能与指挥中心和被困人员双向沟通。
肯定方面:文中提到 “has great potential to become a powerful rescue helper”(有巨大潜力成为强大的救援助手),说明前景可观。

上文提到学生团队诊断问题、更换零件并测试设备,下文说 “It usually takes just a few days.” D “When done, they tell the teacher the device is ready.”(完成后,他们告知老师设备已修好)符合时间顺序和逻辑,使流程完整。
B “Students gain the most from the program.”(学生从项目中获益最多)作为本段的总起句,概括了下文所有内容,符合段落结构。
F “Apart from grades and pay, students gain more practical skills.”(除了成绩和报酬,学生还获得更多实用技能)承上启下,既总结了前文的学分和工资,又引出了后文的具体技能,符合逻辑。

41. A. eating
根据空后的 “lunch with her friend Charlie in the school cafeteria”以及后文 Charlie 吃东西被噎住的情节可知,Amelia 当时正在食堂与朋友们一起吃午饭。 preparing(准备)、serving(服务)、ordering(点餐)均与后文噎住的情景不符。
42. D. cheese
后文第51空明确提到“Charlie coughed up the piece of cheese”,说明他被噎住的是一块奶酪。bread(面包)、fruit(水果)、meat(肉)均无提示。
43. C. scared
annoyed(恼怒的)、embarrassed(尴尬的)、confused(困惑的)均不符合。
44. B. stuck
swallowed(被吞下)、chewed(被嚼碎)、fixed(被固定)均不符合逻辑。
45. B. die
前面说“I thought I was going to pass out”(我以为我要昏过去了),后面用 or even 表示程度递进,更严重的后果是死亡。die 符合。choke(噎住)是正在发生的事,不能作为递进结果;recover(康复)和 suffer(受苦)不符合。
46. D. desperately
casually(随意地)、secretly(秘密地)、patiently(耐心地)均不符合紧急场景。
47. A. unsure of
unsure of what to do 意为 “不确定该做什么”。capable of(能够)、bored with(厌烦)、familiar with(熟悉)均不符合。
48. B. wrapped
wrap one’s arms around sb. raised(举起)、placed(放置)、crossed(交叉)均不准确。
49. D. handle
face(面对)、finish(完成)、avoid(避免)均不恰当。
50. A. right
normal(正常的)、fair(公平的)、easy(容易的)不如 right 贴切。
51. C. breathing
speaking(说话)应在呼吸恢复之后;coughing(咳嗽)是排出异物的动作,不是恢复正常后的状态;drinking(喝水)与语境无关。
52. A. nightmare
nightmare(噩梦)符合。memory(记忆)、experience(经历)、dream(梦)均不如 nightmare 能表达恐惧和不愿发生之意。
53. B. reminder
promise(承诺)、warning(警告)、test(测试)均不符合。
54. C. hesitate
leave(离开)、wait(等待)、pause(停顿)不符合。
55. B. relieved
56. more beautiful
根据空格前 “richer and”,且句末 “than before”,可知此处用比较级。
57. building
固定搭配 spend money (in) doing sth.,介词 in 可省略,故填动名词 building。
58. and
59. their
修饰后面的名词短语 natural beauty and local culture,需用形容词性物主代词,they 对应 their。
60. have planted
时间状语 in recent years 常与现在完成时连用;主语 Many villages 是复数,故填 have planted。
61. Compared
62. steadily
steady 的副词形式是 steadily(变 y 为 i 加 ly)。
63. an
固定搭配 play an important role,important 以元音音素开头,故用不定冠词 an。
64. graduates
65. which
Possible version:
A Meaningful Labor Week
Last week, our school launched a “Campus Labor Week” with the theme “Glorious Labor, Practical Education.”
On Monday, we swept floors and wiped desks. On Wednesday, we sorted used books into piles — some for keeping, some for donating. On Friday, we fixed broken desks under our teachers’ guidance. Seeing the tidy classroom, organized books, and steady desks, I felt a sense of achievement.
This experience taught me that labor is about teamwork and responsibility. Every job deserves respect. Through labor, we not only improve our surroundings but also grow into better selves.
第二节
Possible version:
The race day came. Tom walked up to me, but I kept my head down. I was too ashamed to meet his eyes. All my old fears flooded back. “I can’t do this,” I murmured, voice trembling. Without saying a word, Tom gently lifted my chin and smiled. “You’ve already done the hardest part — you never gave up,” he said softly. “Today is just one more step. No matter what happens, I’m proud of you.” His words warmed my frozen heart. I raised my head and took a deep breath.
Tom watched as I moved steadily toward the starting line. The other runners glanced at me with surprise, having expected me to hide as usual. But this time, I stood among them. The whistle blew, and the race began. I started slowly, following what Tom had taught me. My legs ached, but I didn’t stop. As I passed the halfway point, I heard Tom cheering. Step by step, I pushed forward. When I finally crossed the finish line, I didn’t win a medal. But for the first time, I looked up and smiled.

A month after his 35th birthday, Nidhin Valsan, a police officer, received unwelcome news: He was shaken but gathered his strength for the fight of his life. He went through hard treatment, and later trained to complete his first triathlon (铁人三项): the Ironman 70.3 Goa.
He recorded his recovery in his book. It describes his battle with cancer, the support system that sustained him, his struggles, and training for the Ironman.
Before developing cancer, Valsan had been running often. When his weight rose from 72kg to 90kg after his successful treatment, he took up running again. A friend suggested he train for the Ironman event in Goa, which involved a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike ride, and 13-mile run. He took up the challenge and signed on to train with a coach. “I wanted to send a message to anyone facing a difficult time that tough times are a challenge for us to grow. By developing the habits of self-control, regular efforts, and not giving up, one can face any difficulty,” he says.
His efforts were rewarded at the Ironman competition. When the green race flag was waved to loud cheers at the start, he walked into the water and began the 1.2-mile swim. “I looked at my watch: 48.42 minutes, or 2.34 minutes for every 100 meters. My best time!” he says with excitement. After riding 56 miles, Valsan needed only to run a half marathon — 13 miles — to achieve his goal. But with just a mile or so to go, his body gave up, and he was forced to sit on the side of the road.
Thoughts of his family waiting at the end gave him the strength to go on. “I could not let them down,” he says. “As I reached the finish line, I could hear people calling my name. I finished in just under eight hours, four minutes — 26 minutes ahead of the cut-off.”
24. What do we know about Valsan’s book?
A. It was published before his cancer diagnosis.
B. It focuses mainly on his work as a police officer.
C. It was written by his doctor during the treatment.
D. It describes how he overcame cancer and trained for a triathlon.
25. What was Valsan’s purpose in accepting the challenge?
A. To make some new friends. B. To prepare for his treatment.
C. To inspire those in difficulty. D. To push his body to the limit.
26. What happened to Valsan toward the last mile of his half marathon?
A. He set a new goal. B. He lost his strength.
C. He broke his record. D. He fell onto the road.
27. What is the best title for the text?
A. My Stories, My New Book B. My Cancer, My Treatment
C. From Police Officer to Writer D. From Cancerman to Ironman
C
In the future, your clothes might be grown from living bacteria (细菌). Researchers report that bacteria can produce colorful cloth in a single process. This offers a sustainable alternative to today’s fashion industry, which relies heavily on oil-based fibers and chemical dyes (染料) containing heavy metals. These traditional processes release greenhouse gases, damage water quality, and pollute the soil.
Biochemical engineer Sang Yup Lee and his team grew two types of bacteria together: one that produces a material to replace polyester and nylon (聚酯纤维和锦纶), and another that creates natural colors. Originally, the two bacteria disturbed each other’s growth, so either little material was produced or it remained uncolored. After testing, the team found a way to make them work together, finally producing colorful sheets in purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red.
The team then tested how well the colors lasted. They washed, heated, and put the materials in different liquids. Most colors stayed strong, and some even did better than traditional dyes in washing tests. However, Lee says the bacteria-based cloth is at least five years away from being sold in stores. Challenges include increasing production and competing with low-cost petroleum products. Real progress, he adds, will require people to care more about environment than price.
28. Why does the author mention “heavy metals” in paragraph 1?
A. To explain why bacteria can produce colors.
B. To show a problem with traditional dyeing methods.
C. To compare different types of chemical dyes.
D. To prove that traditionally made cloth is strong.
29. What was the main difficulty the team faced at the beginning?
A. The two bacteria could not produce natural colors.
B. The two bacteria stopped each other from growing well.
C. The material could not be made into colorful sheets.
D. The bacteria could only produce very little colored materials.
30. What can we learn from the color test?
A. The bacteria-based cloth fades easily when washed.
B. Traditional dyes perform better in all the tests.
C. The colors of the new materials are mostly lasting.
D. Heating can change the colors of the new materials.
31. What matters for the technology according to Lee ?
A. Cutting down the cost of mass production.
B. Finding more types of color-producing bacteria.
C. Changing people’s values toward sustainability.
D. Increasing the production of the new cloth.
D
In a disaster, every second counts. Traditional rescue teams face a big challenge: how to reach survivors trapped in ruined buildings or other dangerous areas without putting more lives at risk. Rescue workers often have to enter unstable ruins, which may collapse (倒塌) at any moment. To address these problems, China Telecom, together with ZTE and Deep Robotics, has developed an advanced 5G-powered four-legged rescue robot.
The new robot has four legs inspired by dogs and cats, allowing it to step over obstacles (障碍), climb slopes, and move through narrow spaces — something traditional wheeled vehicles cannot do. Where a truck or a car would get stuck on piles of rubble (碎石), the robot simply walks over them. It can climb stairs that would stop any wheeled machine and push through gaps that are too narrow for larger equipment. The robot also uses a “Space-Air-Ground” network with satellites, drones, and ground stations supporting each other. If one link fails, another takes over immediately, unlike conventional communication systems that go silent once towers are destroyed. This means the robot never loses contact with its command center, no matter how extreme the conditions become.
In real earthquakes, the robots are sent into service immediately upon receiving commands. Through the 5G network, they establish reliable two-way communication with command centers. They provide real-time information on building structures to avoid collapse risks, sending back video and data that help human commanders assess the situation. They also use microphones and speakers to communicate with trapped people and offer comfort, letting survivors know that help is on the way. This two-way communication can be life-saving, as it helps keep trapped people calm and provides commanders with critical information.
Despite these strengths, the robot still has clear limitations. It cannot perform heavy rescue work or handle highly unpredictable environments. However, researchers are working to overcome these weaknesses. In the future, with AI, the robot will gain a “brain” to make decisions and complete tasks on its own. With high-precision satellite navigation, it will work even in weak signal areas. Though long-term improvement and continuous testing are needed, it has great potential to become a powerful rescue helper.

A Real Job at School
In Bowling Green, Kentucky, high school students are not just learning about computers — they’re fixing them for real. The school district has a student-run team that repairs broken Chromebooks.
Here’s how it works. When a teacher finds a broken Chromebook, he or she submits an online repair ticket. Students on the team then diagnose the problem, replace broken parts, and test the device. __36__ It usually takes just a few days.
The benefits for the school are clear. First, it saves money. The district avoids paying expensive repair fees to outside companies. ___37___ Second, it’s much faster. Sending devices out for repair could take weeks, but the student team gets them back in action quickly. It also frees up the district’s IT staff, letting them focus on bigger projects.
___38___ They earn class credit for their work. Even better, they can get paid $10 an hour. “We take a step back and let the kids do what they do,” said Megan Marcum, the district’s digital learning coach. ___39___ They learn to communicate clearly with teachers about repair progress, manage their time to meet deadlines, and solve problems independently.
The program has been running smoothly for 10 years. Students train the next generation of the team, creating a reliable talent pipeline for the district’s IT department. Many former team members have even gone on to pursue tech-related careers after graduation. __40____
A. Only parts and labor are paid for.
B. Students gain the most from the program.
C. It only costs extra money to buy new device.
D. When done, they tell the teacher the device is ready.
E. It’s truly a win-win project for both school and students.
F. Apart from grades and pay, students gain more practical skills.
G. In addition to praise and money, students take free courses.

I was a shy boy who had constantly struggled with running. In PE class, I always fell behind during running tests, which often invited teasing from some classmates. To avoid embarrassment, I kept making excuses to skip practice. One afternoon, however, our PE teacher Mr. Lin announced that a 1000-meter cross-country race would be held in a month, and no one could be absent. My heart sank at once.
After class, I wandered aimlessly around the playground, staring nervously at the endless track. Just then Tom, the fastest runner in our class, came over. Noticing my low spirits, he gently patted me on the shoulder. “Running is never easy, but don’t lose heart. I’ll train with you after school every day,” he said with a warm smile. I looked at him in surprise, half convinced and half doubtful, yet I eventually nodded in agreement.
We began our daily training right away. At first, I was out of breath after only half a lap, my legs feeling as heavy as lead (铅). More than once, I was on the verge of giving up. However, Tom never showed a hint of impatient. He slowed down to stay beside me, cheered me up and shared practical running tips on breathing and pace control. Still deep inside, I couldn’t shake off my self-doubt. The approaching race felt like a mountain I could never climb.
