On June 13, 2026, ZXMOTO claimed its sixth crown in Italy. Let the world know: we are no longer pursuers of the wind, but the wind itself. It was a great moment for the new brand in a sport long dominated by European and Japanese giants.
Thousands of miles away in Chongqing, the brand’s founder, Zhang Xue, burst into tears of joy. His journey to success was anything but easy. Born in a small village, Zhang fell in love with motorcycles as a child. At 16, he started as an assistant in a repair shop, where his hands were always covered in oil. His passion was so strong that at 19, he once followed a television crew for 100 kilometers in the rain just for a chance to join a racing team. “It is not just about winning a prize,” Zhang later shared online. “It is about loving the ride, and that changes everything.”
In motor racing, the machine matters as much as the rider because it requires high accuracy. Valentin Debise, the French rider who won the races, praised the bike’s performance. “I felt from day one that this bike had something special,” he said, “This result is a real team effort.” After years of experience in the industry, Zhang started his own company in 2024. In less than two years, his team proved that Chinese products have moved toward high technology, overcoming many difficulties that others thought impossible.
ZXMOTO’s success reflects a bigger change in the industry. Chinese brands are no longer focused only on low prices; they are now competing with international players through better performance and innovation. Looking ahead, Zhang has set his goals even higher, aiming to win a larger share of the global market. History proves that with enough passion, a boy from a repair shop can indeed challenge the world.
21. What can we know about Zhang Xue when he was a teenager?
A. He won many prizes.
B. He worked for a television station.
C. He was crazy about the racing sport.
D. He ran a repair shop.
22. In Debise’s opinion, what led ZXMOTO to win the race?
A. Unique brand story. B. Great group effort.
C. Special design. D. High machine quality.
23. What is the main idea of the text?
A. A young man’s lifelong love for motor racing.
B. A famous French racer’s praise for Chinese bikes.
C. Key factors that decide the result of motor races.
D. A Chinese motorcycle brand rises on the global stage.

According to research, the average person has 3 to 5 very close friends, 10 to 15 people in their circle, and 100 to 150 acquaintances (认识的人) in their social network. Naturally, these numbers can vary widely based on your personality, career, location, and social skills.
It’s a common misunderstanding that you need to have tons of friends to be happy. Studies have revealed that it isn’t the number of friends, but the quality of friends, that leads to true happiness. Close friends are far more likely to bring real social satisfaction than a bunch of casual connections.
This even holds true in the celebrity (名人) world, where one would imagine that famous people have loads of friends… Nope! Oprah Winfrey openly shares that she has only 3 close friends. Instagram star and singer Selena Gomez says the same; she only has 3 good friends she feels she can tell everything to. Actor Matthew McConaughey says, “I’ve got only a few really close friends in the 28 years of acting that I keep up with all the time.”
Nearly half of the American population reports an average of 3 close friends. About a third of people report having 4 to 9 close friends. The other proportions include people with 10 or more close friends (about 13%) and those who report no close friends at all (12%). Oxford anthropologist Robin Dunbar calculated that you could only maintain a social network of 150 to 200 people, most of whom are casual acquaintances. Most people have a smaller group of about 15 friends that they can open up to. And Dunbar estimates that we only realistically keep an inner core circle of 5 or fewer friends.
Compared with 1990, Americans are becoming more socially isolated over time. The number of close friendships Americans have is dropping. And a bunch of surface-level acquaintances just don’t cut it for satisfying our social bonding needs. Even if you know many people, maintaining a handful of close quality friendships could be the key to true social connectedness.
24. What mistaken belief do many people hold commonly?
A. People with better social skills own more friends.
B. A perfect social circle contains 100 to 150 contacts.
C. Owning lots of friends makes people happy.
D. Common acquaintances cannot bring real joy.
25. How does the author stress close friends’ importance to true happiness?
A. By listing famous people’s cases. B. By referring to social media videos.
C. By reviewing classical movies. D. By providing scientific reports.
26. What is the realistic size for a person’s circle of close friends in Dunbar’s opinion?
A. About 200 people. B. More than 150 people.
C. About 15 people. D. No more than 5 people.
27. What results in Americans’ increasing social loneliness after 1990?
A. Lack of enough ordinary acquaintances. B. Misunderstanding the secret of real happiness.
C. The falling number of close friends. D. Making friends only through social platforms.
C
Calling ingredients with multiple health benefits “superfoods” is often more about marketing than science. However, a recent review suggests that bamboo might deserve this title. An international team of researchers analyzed previous studies, including human trials and laboratory experiments, to evaluate the effects of bamboo shoots and other bamboo-based products on human health.
The findings revealed a wide range of positive impacts. Specifically, eating bamboo is associated with improvements in metabolic (新陈代谢的) and digestive health. It was already known that bamboo is high in protein and fiber while being low in fat. This study is significant because it is the first time scientific data on bamboo has been analyzed collectively.
One major benefit is improved blood sugar regulation, which could lower the risk of diabetes. Additionally, research indicates that bamboo helps to increase healthy bacteria in the gut. These benefits are likely due to the plant’s rich nutritional content, including amino acids (氨基酸), minerals, and vitamins that help the body deal with modern health challenges like heart disease and cell toxicity.
Despite these advantages, the review also highlights necessary cautions. Raw bamboo contains poisonous substances that must be removed through proper cooking or processing. Some studies pointed out concerns regarding lead levels and thyroid (甲状腺) issues if preparation is ignored. As Professor Lee Smith noted, bamboo has huge potential to be a sustainable addition to global diets, but it must be prepared correctly to be safe.
In conclusion, while the review reinforces bamboo’s potential, it serves as a “call to action”. Many studies were small or limited to lab settings. Therefore, more detailed investigations are needed to fully understand how bamboo affects our bodies. With further research, we may soon discover the true extent of this unique plant’s power as a global superfood that can improve lives worldwide.
28. What makes the bamboo review scientifically significant?
A. It found new nutrients in the bamboo.
B. It revealed major impacts of bamboo.
C. It first analyzed bamboo data collectively.
D. It tested bamboo in human trials.
29. Why does the author mention Professor Lee Smith’s words?
A. To prove the severe poison of bamboo.
B. To stress bamboo should be eaten properly.
C. To show methods to select suitable bamboo.
D. To indicate that the bamboo is safe to eat.
30. What can be inferred from the last paragraph?
A. Further study on bamboo’s benefits is a must.
B. Action should be taken to encourage people to eat bamboo.
C. Bamboo doesn’t have the potential to improve lives globally.
D. Confirming the review’s findings needs a long time.

It is said that entering high school is the first step into the real world for any student. 31 We have to make our own decisions independently. We were unaware of this from our childhood because that was when we were allowed to make mistakes, with everyone thinking that we were kids. But this doesn’t happen in high school, as we are considered adults now.
You can never expect to live a carefree life in high school. 32 We need to balance our academics and extracurricular activities and also prepare for competitive exams that lie ahead. Even as we have so much to do, we don’t want to miss out on the fun we can have with our friends.
33 One of these was when I skipped a lecture with two of my friends for the first time to watch a newly released movie. Our teacher took attendance and found out about the students who were absent, so eventually we were suspended (暂停) from our laboratory sessions for a week.

I went through counseling (咨询) which I never thought I would ever require. 35 My parents were my sources of strength during that time. They encouraged me to study and motivated me to stay on the right path.

第二节(满分 20 分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写一段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
For a long time, I tried hard to please everyone around me. I was extremely sensitive to others’ opinions and always afraid of being left out or judged. I hid my quiet personality and completely gave up my favourite painting hobby, for my classmates once laughed and said drawing was a total waste of study time.
To fit in with the group, I always nodded and agreed with others’ opinions blindly just to win their recognition. Never did I dare to speak out my real thoughts or show my true feelings. To change my shy image, I even spent plenty of spare time rehearsing (排练) lively speeches, hoping to make myself seem outgoing and active in various class activities. Gradually, I lost myself in the process of pleasing others.
Last month, our school organized a volunteer day at the local city art gallery. I signed up for the activity, simply because an excellent volunteer experience would beautify my student record and leave a good impression on teachers. My main task was to introduce classic painting exhibits to groups of visiting middle school students. In preparation, I memorized an introduction script (讲稿) and practiced my tone and gestures repeatedly, aiming to perform perfectly.
When I stood in front of the visitors and was ready to start my formal introduction, a sudden temporary power failure occurred. All bright indoor lights went out at once, leaving the gallery in gentle darkness. Soft natural light streamed through the window, creating a peaceful atmosphere. At that moment, a young student looked up at me curiously and asked softly, “Which painting here touches you the most personally?” My mind went blank at this simple but sincere question.
注意:
1.续写词数应为 100 左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
In the dim light, I gave up my rehearsed speech and spoke from my heart.
