There are four main blood groups in this system: A, B, O, and AB. Type O is the “universal donor”. This means that people of any ABO blood type can accept Type O red blood cells (细胞). Type AB is the “universal recipient”. People with this type of blood can usually receive red blood cells from donors with any ABO blood type.

When he was a child, boxer (拳击手) Saad Abdullah was bullied for his speech impediment. This is a condition that can make it difficult for someone to form sounds and words. They may repeat a letter or stop for a short time when trying to speak. On his 10th birthday, Abdullah’s dad took him to a boxing club to see if the sport would help with his confidence. It changed his life, and Abdullah, now 21, is a professional (职业的) boxer.
Last year, Abdullah and his dad opened a boxing gym in Cardiff, where they live. The gym tries to help children who have trouble focusing at school or home, or who act differently from others. The gym is not just a place to train boxing but also where Abdullah gives back to his community. He wants people to walk through its doors and feel they belong to this place. He said, “I was always shy and unsure of myself-but boxing gave me my voice and my way of proving I belonged somewhere.”
Abdullah hopes to be a good example and hopes young people will be inspired by his journey. “I wanted to be an example-not just for boxers but for those facing difficulties in life,” he said.

Eye contact plays an important role in communication. It’s a form of body language which means looking into another person’s eyes. You may avoid looking someone in the eye when talking with them because you are shy. But in many situations, eye contact is the key to good communication. You can show friendliness, interest and understanding through eye contact.
Eye contact can mean different things in different places. For example, in northern Europe (欧洲), direct eye contact is a sign that you are truly interested in what the other person is saying. If you look down and avoid eye contact, a northern European may think you are not listening to what they are saying. However, in many Asian countries, looking down when talking with an older person, like a teacher or a parent, is polite.
These differences can cause problems. Suppose (假设) that an East Asian woman meets a person from northern Europe for the first time. If she avoids direct eye contact during the conversation, the northern European may think her behaviour is strange. He or she may even believe that the woman is lying, or that she is not confident. In fact, the East Asian woman is most likely showing respect and being polite.
Avoiding eye contact can cause problems, but too much eye contact is not polite either. In many countries, looking at other people for a long time is impolite. This may make them feel uncomfortable.
Eye contact is useful in communication. But understanding the cultural differences behind this body language counts more.
27. What’s the main idea of paragraph 1?
A. Eye contact is the key to making friends.
B. Eye contact shows people are shy in talks.
C. Eye contact causes communication problems.
D. Eye contact helps people communicate better.
28. How does the writer support his idea in Paragraph 2?
A. By listing numbers. B. By showing examples.
C. By telling stories. D. By adding reasons.
29. What might northern Europeans think of the girl who avoids direct eye contact?
A. She is showing loneliness. B. She is interested in the topic.
C. She is behaving strangely. D. She is confident about herself.
30. What is the purpose of the text?
A. To discover the main cause of poor eyesight.
B. To describe body languages in Asian countries.
C. To show why people from Europe are confident.
D. To explain the cultural differences in eye contact.
