The idea of paper money first appeared in China during the Tang Dynasty(朝代). At that time, feiqian, the earliest form of paper note(汇票),was used as a promise to pay instead of real paper money. During the Northern Song Dynasty, official (官方的) jiaozi was come out and soon became widely used. It is considered the world's first official paper money. And now, China, once more, is playing a leading(领先的) role and may become one of the first truly cashless societies.
Cash is still legal tender(法定货币) anywhere and everywhere in China; but only a few people use it today. If we pay with a 100-yuan note, it's possible that some small stores or taxi drivers would be unable to break it to give change.
I live in China, and I travel outside the country from time to time. In China, I never carry my wallet with me, and I don’ t even carry cash. However, when I go to other countries, it is a different story. Before travelling, I need to make sure my credit card(信用卡) is in my wallet, which is something I almost never do in China.
Since the introduction of the smartphone, many of us have stopped carrying wallets because almost everything can be done on the phone. But now, even more convenient ways, like facial recognition(人脸识别), are here. We can pay in many places without even taking out our phones. However, countries that are considered leaders in" cashless societies", such as Sweden(瑞典) and Norway(挪威), mostly use credit cards which allow people to" touch and go". The convenience is hard to beat, but cards are still carried in wallets. Once again, China goes a step further and finds even more convenient payment methods.
23. Why does the writer mention Tang and Song dynasties?
A. To compare different payment systems.
B. To explain why paper money was created.
C. To show China's historical importance in paper money use.
24. What trouble might people have when using cash in China now?
A. Others don't have change for them.
B. Others are afraid that the cash is not real.
C. Others worry that some people steal their cash.
25. Which of the following sentences is TURE?
A. Feiqian is the world's earliest official paper money.
B. China now has the most convenient payment system in the world.
C. People in Sweden and Norway completely stop using credit cards.
26. What is the best title of the passage?
A. The Payment in Ancient China
B. Payment Systems around the World
C. The Development of Payment in China

Gulliver's Travels is an adventure novel written by Jonathan Swift. It tells the amazing journeys of Lemuel Gulliver. He travels to different lands and meets all kinds of unusual people and creatures.
On Gulliver's first journey, his ship is wrecked. Fortunately, he survives the accident. He wakes up in Lilliput and finds himself tied down by many tiny people. These people are only about six inches tall! Gulliver learns about their lives, strange customs, and silly wars.
Next, Gulliver arrives in Brobdingnag, where everything is huge. Now he is the tiny one, living with giants as big as buildings. He experiences life from a different perspective (视角),which gives him a new understanding of size and power. He realizes that humans are not always the most powerful beings.
His third adventure leads him to a flying island named Laputa. People there are so lost in thought that they forget how to live a normal life. They are very smart, especially good at math-and music. However, their ideas are often impractical.
Gulliver's final journey takes him to a land ruled by clever horses called the Houyhnhnms. They live peaceful lives. However, the human-like creatures there, called Yahoos, are dirty, greedy(贪婪的), and wild. Living with the Houyhnhnms, Gulliver starts to love their simple, honest way of life. This journey makes him question human nature.
The book is special, showing different cultures and ways of living. It gives readers a new way of thinking about the world. It is also filled with humour, imagination, and unexpected surprises. What's more, by comparing the societies Gulliver visits, readers are encouraged to think about human nature, the problems in the world, and how we can improve. All of these make Gulliver's Travels remain popular among readers of all ages.

For most of us, watching a movie is a pretty common thing to do. But for the blind people who can't see, it can be very difficult. In Kunming, Yunnan Province, there is a very special theater, Xin Deng Theater(心灯影院). It's blind-friendly.
More than 5,000 volunteers help at Xin Deng Theater on weekends. Most of them are university students. Every Saturday, volunteers come to the bus stop to pick up the blind and take them to Xin Deng Theater. To help the blind enjoy the movie, volunteers describe what is happening on the screen(银幕). With the help of the volunteers, the blind can learn about the characters’ facial expressions, the background and even the clothing. They lose themselves in the movie, laughing during funny parts and crying during sad parts.
However, it's not easy to describe a movie clearly. The volunteers must be familiar with every scene in the movie. “I watch a movie at least-three times and write down every small part, “one of the volunteers said. The volunteers have to practice many times before they do the job. However, they all enjoy the experience. Yifan has volunteered here since last June. “I’m so glad that my volunteer work can bring joy to the blind. I feel as if I'm shining a light on their lives, and the experience enriches my life in return,” he said.
56. Where is Xin Deng Theater?
