二、阅读表达。
Social practice plays an important role in teenagers’ growth. It serves as a bridge connecting the knowledge they gain in classrooms with the real world. Nowadays, teenagers are taking part in colourful social activities.
In China, many teenagers take part in community service, environmental projects, cultural events and so on. For example, some teenagers do community service, such as planning sports games, which can help improve their teamwork skills. In the countryside, farming programmes allow teenagers to experience growing crops.
Similarly, teenagers in other countries take part in volunteering, part-time jobs, or charity work. For example, in the US, many high school students often take part-time jobs at cafes or bookstores. They can earn pocket money through these jobs. In Canada, teenagers join wilderness survival (荒野生存) programmes, where they learn survival skills and leadership.
Social practice benefits teenagers in many ways. It lets them use what they learn in school in real life. For example, maths skills can help in planning a charity event. Besides, when teenagers help people in need, like homeless families or sick children, they learn kindness.
However, there are some problems too. Without guidance from schools or parents, choosing suitable activities can be difficult for teenagers. Schools are the key to solving these problems. For example, schools can work with communities to encourage students to support elderly people. By offering such opportunities, schools can help students safely find activities that suit their interests and abilities.
This way, social practice becomes a valuable and enjoyable part of their education.

(2026苏州中考)In 2014, doctors told Cai Lu he would never walk again. After twelve years, the 34-year-old is proving them wrong — not just by walking, but by running a company.
When he was 22, he lost his right leg in an accident on a business trip. In 2018, Cai began using a prosthetic (义肢) and relearned to walk. But stepping outside was another fight for him. The stares (凝视) he received made him uncomfortable.
A turning point came through Wei Qing, who is a member of a local disabled persons’ organization. Wei visited Cai repeatedly, gently inviting him to attend group outings. Cai finally went. “I realized I wasn’t alone,” he said.
Around 2020, Cai tried starting a fried chicken delivery (快递) business but failed. “Don’t rush. Take your time,” his mother told him. Hearing her words, Cai stepped back and poured himself into training programs. In 2023, he won a national championship for persons with disabilities in tea art — an achievement that gave him the confidence to start his prosthetics company the same year.
As a prosthetic user himself, Cai could better understand his customers. “Traditional companies fit you and send you away,” he said. “We provide full life cycle service: pre-fitting training, fitting, and future support.”
His athletic career has also taken off. In 2025, Cai was chosen for China’s disabled park golf (高尔夫) team. When he isn’t on the green or in the company, he travels as a speaker for schools across Zhejiang province.
Looking back at his experiences, we find the message is simple: “Keep being brave.”

I am a free dog called Johannes. I live in a large park by the sea. Freya is one of the three Bison (野牛) who live in an area with a fence (篱笆) within the park. Recently, I wanted to set them free and I almost succeeded.
Towards the end of the journey, Freya said to me, “We can’t go on that ship.”
“But it’s right down there,” I said. “We’ve already done the hard part. The goats (羊) have performed their duties, jumping and crying and making chaos (混乱) all around, so you wouldn’t be found when you hid among them. Everything’s ready.” I was worried, for the sky was growing brighter, and it would be more difficult for the goats to hide the Bison from humans as they went down the hill.
“No,” Freya said. “We’re not going. We thought we could, but this short journey has already proven we are not ready for more. We can’t make it.”
“But why let me — let all of us — go through all this trouble?” I asked.
“You needn’t be angry,” Freya said. “Or sad. Or even surprised. Look at us. We’re slow and old. We couldn’t go across the sea in strange boats. Seeing this is enough.”
She was still looking at the morning sea, which had grown brighter and whiter. She turned to me then. “Thank you, Johannes.” She turned to the goats. “We are so thankful. We have lived quiet lives. But you have freed our eyes and our minds. What you did today mattered a great deal. You gave us the sea. And we will not forget it.”
I tried to organize my thoughts. Was all this for nothing? And would we all have to go back to the park? I stood on the top of that small mountain, wondering what to do.
Then one of the goats said to me, “You could come with us. We will protect you, and when you reach the mainland, you can stay with us, or simply run free. There are a million free dogs like you. You can run with them and see places and things.”
I thought about this. I knew it was true. I knew I would go.
5. What did Freya think of their journey?
A. It was worth it. B. It was too long. C. It was boring. D. It was smooth.
6. What can we infer from paragraph 3?
A. The goats messed up everything. B. Their plan was very well-organized.
C. The Bison were at the foot of the hill. D. Their secret was discovered by humans.
7. What would Johannes do in the end?
A. Protect the goats. B. Join the Bison.
C. Continue the journey. D. Return to the park.
8. What is the theme of the story?
A. Some friends cannot be trusted. B. Humans can make friends with animals.
C. We can make choices for others. D. Everyone can find their place in the world.

Cooking, the art and science of preparing food, is far more than daily housework. It’s like a fun classroom where you can learn different subjects all at once! 1_____________________
Science is everywhere in cooking. When you make bread, the yeast (酵母) eats sugar and makes bubbles of gas. 2___________________ When you cook meat and it turns brown and smells good, that’s cool chemistry. Also, think about heating water, which shows how heat moves. It is all about physics.
3 _______________ You need to follow the instructions when you mix materials, like “adding 1/4 spoon of salt”. Sometimes you have to make some changes to feed more or fewer people. That means doing math. Even buying the required materials with low cost teaches you math.
Food has a lot of history. Pasta didn’t start in Italy—it came from Asia long ago! Spices (香料) were once traded like gold, and this changed how countries talked to each other. 4______________ In hot places, people grow more different foods than in cold places. Learning about these things helps you understand how the world works.
Cooking is like a secret key that opens the door to learning many subjects. It’s not just about making yummy food. 5 ______________ Schools should teach cooking because it helps students see how everything in learning is connected!
A.Geography also matters.
B.This is biology in action.
C.Math helps a lot in the kitchen.
D.Cooking avoids wasting money.
E.It’s also about becoming smarter in lots of ways.

A
(2026苏州中考)In 2014, doctors told Cai Lu he would never walk again.

【答案】1.B 2.D 3.C 4.D
【解析】

【答案】5.A 6.B 7.C 8.D
【解析】
5.答案:A 解析:Freya 明确表示感谢 Johannes,虽然野牛放弃渡海,但 “You have freed our eyes and our minds...What you did today mattered a great deal.”(你开阔了我们的眼界与思想,今天所做的一切意义重大),说明这段旅途依然有价值、值得。
7.答案:C 解析:山羊邀请 Johannes 一同前往大陆,文末 “I knew it was true. I knew I would go.”
