It is 2025 now. Yang Chen-Ning, one of the greatest physicists (物理学家) of the 20th century, passed away recently. He lived a remarkable life, full of achievements and contributions to both science and China.
Yang was born in 1922 in HeFei, China. He grew up during a difficult time in Chinese history, but his talent for learning was clear from a young age. He first studied at Tsinghua University in Beijing and later went to America for further education. There, he earned his PhD from the University of Chicago in 1948.
In 1957, while still in his thirties, Yang made history. Together with another Chinese scientist, Tsung-Dao Lee, he won the Nobel Prize in Physics. Their discovery changed how scientists understand the basic laws of the universe. This made them the first Chinese Nobel laureates (获奖者).
Yang spent many years teaching and doing research in the United States. He became a famous professor at the State University of New York and made further important contributions to physics. Yet, he never forgot his Chinese roots. He often talked about his childhood in Hefei, his teachers at Tsinghua, and how he hoped to do something for his motherland. In his later years, Yang returned to Tsinghua University in Beijing. He devoted his energy to helping China develop its scientific research and education systems.
Throughout his life, Yang received many honors. His long journey—from a student in China to a world-leading physicist—continues to inspire young people to learn, explore, and serve their country.
34. How old was Yang Chen-Ning when he passed away?
A. 95 years old. B. 98 years old. C. 103 years old. D. 105 years old.
35. In which country did Yang Chen-Ning get his PhD?
A. China. B. The US. C. The UK. D. Japan.
36. Why was 1957 an important year for Yang Chen-Ning?
A. He got his PhD that year. B. He returned to China.
C. He became a professor. D. He won the Nobel Prize.
37. What does “Chinese roots” mean in Paragraph 4?
A. His family in China. B. His connection to China.
C. His old school in China. D. His childhood home in Hefei.
38. What’s the main idea of the passage?
A. Yang’s life and-influence. B. Yang’s many honors.
C. Yang’s education experience. D. Yang’s great discoveries.
C 35. B 36. D 37. B 38. A
根据第一段“It is 2025 now. Yang Chen-Ning...passed away recently.”以及第二段“Yang was born in 1922 in Hefei, China.”,2025减去1922等于103,可知他去世时103岁。
根据第二段“and later went to America for further education. There, he earned his PhD from the University of Chicago in 1948.”,America就是The US,可知他在美国取得博士学位。
根据第三段“In 1957, while still in his thirties, Yang made history. Together with another Chinese scientist, Tsung-Dao Lee, he won the Nobel Prize in Physics.”,可知1957年重要是因为他获得诺贝尔物理学奖。
根据第四段“He often talked about his childhood in Hefei, his teachers at Tsinghua, and how he hoped to do something for his motherland.”,他总牵挂祖国、想为祖国出力,能推断“Chinese roots”指他与中国的联系。
D
At the 15th China Airshow, a four-legged robot showed up and its special design and strong abilities surprised visitors from all over the world. This new kind of robot is created by China on its own and known as “robot wolves”.
For the design idea, “robot wolves” come from real wolves in nature. Real wolves have sharp eyes. They also have fast movements and quick minds. However, what makes real wolves special is their teamwork when they hunt. According to that, CSIG (中国兵器装备集团公司) developed this new “iron fighter”.
For key technology, robot wolves have small sensors, radars (雷达) and cameras on their heads. They can “see” everything nearby and collect information from the environment fast. Also, with four metal legs, they can move easily on rough land like mountains and broken buildings—places where traditional robots often can’t reach. Besides, they use AI to make their own choices and plan where to go—no human control is needed at all.
With the key technology, the robot wolves are famous for their use in the military (军队). Working together, they are able to make fights safer without wasting time or energy. When they act, each has a clear job.
In daily life, they can also help. After earthquakes or fires they go into dangerous places to look for people or carry heavy things. What’s more, they can be teaching tools for AI and robot technology, helping teenagers get more interested in science. They help with science research as well—someday, they may help scientists explore other planets or the deep ocean.
By learning from nature and using new technology, robot wolves not only show how China’s robot technology is developing, but also how technology can help people and explore the world in amazing ways.
39. What gave CSIG the idea to make “robot wolves”?
A. The fast movements of the real wolves. B. The quick minds of the real wolves.
C. The teamwork of the real wolves. D. The sharp eyes of the real wolves.
40. What does the underlined word “rough” mean?
41. How are robot wolves used in daily life now?
①To search for people who are still alive after earthquakes.
②To transport daily vegetables and fruits to families.
③To take part in planet exploration projects.
④To serve as teaching tools for AI and robot technology.
A. ①② B. ①④ C. ②③ D. ③④
42. Which of the following would the writer probably agree with?
A. Robot wolves will replace the human soldiers in the future.
B. Robot wolves won’t be able to work in the deep ocean.
C. Learning from nature is a useless way to develop technology.
D. Robot wolves show China’s technology impacts on military and daily life.
43. Which of the following shows the structure of this passage?
A. B. C. D.
C 40. A 41. B 42. D 43. C
原文第二段提到:“However, what makes real wolves special is their teamwork when they hunt. According to that, CSIG developed this new ‘iron fighter’.”,由此可知,正是真实狼群捕猎时的团队协作给了研发灵感。
原文第三段提到:“Also, with four metal legs, they can move easily on rough land like mountains and broken buildings—places where traditional robots often can’t reach.”,结合“mountains and broken buildings”的语境,该类地形为山地、损毁建筑,是传统机器人通常无法抵达的区域,“rough land”指的是“崎岖不平的地形”。
原文第五段提到:“After earthquakes or fires they go into dangerous places to look for people... they can be teaching tools for AI and robot technology, helping teenagers get more interested in science.”,对应①地震搜救和④作为AI教学工具;②运送果蔬文中未提及,③探索行星是未来的计划(someday),不是现在的用途,因此①④正确,该项正确。
原文第六段提到:“By learning from nature and using new technology, robot wolves not only show how China’s robot technology is developing, but also how technology can help people and explore the world in amazing ways.”,说明机器狼体现了中国科技在军事和日常生活中的影响;A项“取代人类士兵”文中未提及;B项“无法用于深海”与原文“they may help scientists explore other planets or the deep ocean”不符;C项“向自然学习无用”与文意相悖,因此该项正确。

固定句型it is+形容词+for sb. to do sth.,空格需不定式作真正主语;结合全文主线是男孩接触、学习刺绣技艺,learn的中文含义为“学习”,贴合“男孩子接触刺绣” 的语境,原词learn变形为to learn,因此选用learn,变形为to learn。
固定搭配fall in love with是固定短语,含义为“爱上某物”;时间状语when he was four years old为过去时间,动词用一般过去式fell,方框内只有fall可搭配该固定短语,因此选用fall,变形为fell。
句中day by day表示 “一天天、日渐”,强调持续变化的过程,需使用现在进行时;get中文意思是“变得”,固定搭配get popular含义为“变得受欢迎”,主语this kind of art为单数,现在进行时结构为is getting,因此选用get,变形为is getting。
时间标志in the future为一般将来时;后文around the world表示范围扩散,spread含义为“传播、推广”,贴合把刺绣推向全球的主旨,将来时结构will spread,因此选用spread,变形为will spread。
When looking for healthy relationships, we often forget that true happiness comes from inside us. It’s a common saying that you must love yourself before you can love others. Self-love is the basis of a happy life, but why is it so hard for us to achieve this?
One reason is that we are taught to be selfless from a young age. Whenever we focus on our own needs, we are reminded of how selfish we are. However, there’s nothing wrong with considering ourselves first. Self-love is not selfish. It helps us understand what price is truly worth paying.
Self-love is important for all healthy relationships. Just as strong roots help a tree withstand strong winds, strong self-love makes it harder for life’s challenges to knock us down. To understand self-love, we need to understand its true meaning.
Self-love is more than just a definition (定义): it’s about caring for and valuing oneself. It’s about accepting who you are. It’s about building a kind relationship with yourself.
To understand self-love, let’s look at its key elements:
Self-Acceptance: This means accepting all parts of yourself, including your strengths and weaknesses. Be true to yourself and accept all that you are.
Self-Compassion (同情): Be kind to yourself when you make mistakes or face setbacks. Treat yourself in the same way you would offer to someone you love.
Self-Care: While it’s important to care for others, the most important person to care for is yourself. You can only give what you have in abundance (丰富). So, take care of yourself first.
All in all, self-love is important for a happy and healthy life. It’s about accepting, caring for, and being kind to yourself. By doing so, you build a strong root for all your relationships.
69. Why do we often fail to love ourselves?
____________________________________________________________________________________________
70. What is the true meaning of self-love according to the text?

例文
My Growth
We grow up in change. Growth makes our life full of meaning.
The biggest change in me is that I’ve become good at public speaking. I used to be too shy to speak in front of others. Last year, our class had a debate competition. My teacher encouraged me to join. I practiced the speech repeatedly and discussed with my teammates. Finally, we won the competition. Since then, I’ve taken part in more speaking activities and made progress.

①To search for people who are still alive after earthquakes.
②To transport daily vegetables and fruits to families.
③To take part in planet exploration projects.
④To serve as teaching tools for AI and robot technology.
A. ①② B. ①④ C. ②③ D. ③④
