One day, a girl moved into Cathy’s neighbourhood. She was a kind girl and found that Cathy was homeless. Every day she put food around Cathy’s house, an old box.21④ The food was delicious and adequate. Doctors say 60 minutes of exercise is important for teenagers to build up their bodies.23 It’s also good for the heart and lung (肺). Also, teenagers won’t become fat through exercise. What’s more, more and more research is showing that exercise doesn’t just help with the body. It can help with the mind too — making people think better and helping students get better grades.24
Trevor Shilton, working for Heart Foundation of Australia, says, “If this were a kind of medicine, we would all take it.”
However, it’s not easy. Now many teenagers find it very difficult to stay away from mobile phones, computers or televisions. In their free time, they talk with friends online, play online games and watch interesting TV programmes.25 WHO says that young people need to play less in the online world and play more in the real world.
Health experts want schools and families to ask teenagers to do more exercise. Doctors also say that teenagers can do 20 minutes of exercise three times a day to get 60 minutes of exercise.26 They say it’s very important for young people to work out because it will be good for their life in the future.
( D )23.What is Paragraph 1 mainly about?
A.When should teenagers do exercise.
B.What kind of exercise teenagers should do.
C.How much exercise teenagers should do.
D.Why doing exercise is important.
( B )24.What does the underlined word “this” in Paragraph 2 refer to?
A.Having a healthy heart. B.Doing exercise.
C.Keeping thin. D.Thinking better.
( C )25.Why do many teenagers NOT do exercise according to the text?
A.Because they are always busy with their studies.
B.Because they think they are healthy.
C.Because they spend much time doing things online.
D.Because they decide to live in the online world.
( B )26.What can we learn from the text?
A.Exercise only helps teenagers with their bodies.
B.Teenagers need to do 60 minutes’ exercise every day.
C.Doctors think six hours of exercise a week is important.
D.WHO asks teenagers not to play in the online world.
