第6课时 项目式素养拓展 Fables are tales of yesterday, teaching the wisdom of tomorrow. 寓言是昨日的故事,教导明日的智慧。 Fables may be the vehicles of truth, and the conveyancers of instruction. 寓言可能是真理的工具、教导的传递者。 The fable shows the truth in a guise that children can see and understand. 寓言以孩子们能够看到和理解的伪装展示真理。 Ⅰ.词汇运用 将方框中所给词语的适当形式填入短文中,每词仅用一次。 take quick praise instead of send Long long ago, there was a boy called Cao Chong. He was the son of Cao Cao. He was very smart. Once, Cao Cao’s friends 1. sent  him a big elephant. “The elephant is big and heavy! Can you tell me how to weigh it?” Many people tried to find a way. After hearing this, Cao Chong 2. quickly  had a great idea. He asked a man to take the elephant into a boat, and then marked where the water went up. However, he used to do many bad things in his village. When he was young, Zhou was very tall and strong. He behaved very badly and always (欺凌) the villagers. At that time,1 the villagers thought there were “three scourges (祸害)” — the man-eating tiger in the southern mountain, the dragon under the water and Zhou Chu. They always ran away as soon as they saw Zhou Chu.  After knowing about that, Zhou decided to help them kill the tiger and the dragon.2  ▲  Finally, after three days and nights, he made it.2 On the fourth day, Zhou Chu came back to the village, thinking that he would be a hero (英雄). He said, “I used to do many bad things and waste most of my time. Now I have realized my mistakes. I want to correct them and be a better man,3 but I’m afraid it’s too late.” Lu Yun told him, “Don’t worry. You have such a great determination (决心), so there is hope for your future.”4 From then on, Zhou Chu studied hard under Lu Yun’s teaching.
