don’t不要;doesn’t不(第三人称单数);not不;can’t 不能。本句是一个祈使句,用于表达命令、警告、劝告或请求。祈使句否定结构为“Don’t+动词原形”,表示命令或劝告不要做某事。本句是“叫玛丽不要跑”,所以用don’t run。

A. price B. hurry C. truth D. danger
【答案】D
【解析】

A. reads; plays B. reads; played C. read; plays D. readed; played
【答案】B

A. neither B. none C. either D. all

neither两者都不;none三者或以上都不;either两者中的任意一个;all三者或以上都。问句提供两种选择(subway或bus),后面“But please leave one seat...”只是附加要求,可知前面应该是“二者任一都可以乘坐”的肯定态度,应用either。
10. April 22nd is Earth Day and we should call on (号召) people not to _______ too many trees.
A. cut off B. turn off C. cut down D. turn down

cut off截断;turn off关闭;cut down砍倒;turn down调低。根据“April 22nd is Earth Day”和“not to...too many trees”可知,和地球日相关的举动应和保护环境相关,所以此处指不要砍伐太多树木,应填cut down。

Everyone wants to stay healthy and enjoy a long life. But how can we make it come true? Many people are looking for useful ways. Years ago, a 90-year-old American writer shared some great advice about a long and healthy life. First, we should believe in ourselves all the time. Second, always keep a positive mood no matter what happens. Last, love people around us and be happy to give others a hand.
Women in Okinawa, Japan, set a good example for us. They can live to an old age easily. Their long-life secret is simple. They take exercise every single day, so their bodies stay strong. They never carry too much stress in daily life, and they are outgoing and active every day.
Good eating habits also play an important role. They think the Mediterranean diet (地中海型饮食) is a healthy choice. It includes tomatoes, lemons, fish, rice and many fresh vegetables. The fat in this diet is healthy. It comes not only from olive oil (橄榄油) and fish, but also from nuts and seeds. Keep away from bad fat in sweets and fried food. Choose healthy food like fruit and vegetables. If you feel hungry, pick fresh fruit or carrots instead of potato chips.
All in all, believe in yourself, keep a positive mood, stay relaxed, and eat healthily. You will live a long healthy life.

【导语】本文是一篇说明文,主要通过引用美国作家的建议、冲绳女性的生活习惯和地中海饮食的特点,从心态、运动、饮食三个角度向读者介绍了健康长寿的实用方法。
【31题详解】
根据第一段,美国作家的建议包括“believe in ourselves”, “keep a positive mood”和“give others a hand”。“Do sports every day”是第二段中提到的日本冲绳妇女的习惯,而非美国作家的建议。
【32题详解】
根据第二段:“They take exercise every single day, ... They never carry too much stress in daily life”,即日本冲绳女性每天锻炼,日常生活中也从不会背负太多压力,与B项“她们从不担心,并且热爱每天锻炼”表述一致。
【33题详解】
划线词“It”所在句的前一句是“They think the Mediterranean diet is a healthy choice.”,紧接着说“It includes ...”,因此“It”指代前句的主语“the Mediterranean diet”。
【34题详解】
根据第三段:“The fat in this diet is healthy. It comes not only from olive oil and fish, but also from nuts and seeds.”,即健康脂肪来源于橄榄油、鱼、坚果和种子。

Are you afraid of strong storms? Most people feel scared of them, but some brave people work as storm chasers (追逐者). They go outside to learn about tornadoes (龙卷风). These terrible storms can strike suddenly and run at high speed, so storm chasers must always stay careful and ready for anything.
When a tornado is coming, these chasers get close to collect useful information. Tim Samaras was a famous storm chaser. He made simple tools to study tornadoes and tracked (追踪) more than 120 of them in his life. He often took videos of storms to share real situations with scientists around the world.
Chasers put machines along the path of tornadoes. These machines record wind speed and air pressure. The information helps scientists make better weather reports. It also helps build stronger houses to keep people safe in bad weather.
However, this job is full of danger. In May 2013, Samaras and his team met a huge tornado in America. It became bigger fast and changed directions often. Its wind speed was over 480 kilometres per hour. Unluckily, the tornado hit their car, and all three men lost their lives.
Samaras’ work is still helpful for weather research today. Storm chasing is risky, but many people still keep doing it. They want to learn more about storms and keep people safe. Their courage and hard work are always worth our respect.
根据短文内容,选择最佳答案。
36. Which of the following is TRUE about storm chasers?
A. They watch storm videos at home to study tornadoes.

C. By introducing the job and a chaser’s story.
D. By comparing different kinds of storms.
【答案】36. B 37. A 38. B 39. C 40. C

【37题详解】
根据文章“These terrible storms can strike suddenly and run at high speed”可知,这些可怕的暴风雨会突然“发生”并以高速移动,strike在此表示“袭击、突然发生”,与hit(袭击)意思最接近。
【38题详解】
根据文章“He often took videos of storms to share real situations with scientists around the world.”可知,蒂姆·萨马拉斯的视频是为了向世界各地的科学家分享真实情况。

Rick Hoyt is American. He is in a wheelchair because he’s got cerebral palsy (脑瘫). He is unable to speak so he uses a computer to communicate with people.
Rick is a cheerful and successful man, he has a job at the University of Boston, and he works in computer studies. Rick loves sport too, and he takes part in marathons (马拉松) and triathlons (铁人三项), whenever he gets the chance.
In the triathlon, people swim four kilometres, cycle one hundred and eighty kilometres and then run a marathon, forty-two kilometres. However, Rick can’t swim, cycle or run by himself because of his illness. People may wonder how he can take part in such a hard sport.
The secret is that Rick never takes part in the triathlon alone. He finishes every race with his father Dick Hoyt. During the running part, Dick pushes Rick’s wheelchair forward. When it’s time to swim, Rick rests in a small boat, and Dick pulls him through the water. For cycling, Rick sits on a special seat at the front of Dick’s bike. People call the pair “Team Hoyt”.
Of course, Team Hoyt never wins the race. The winner of a triathlon usually finishes in about nine hours. But the Hoyts need fourteen or fifteen hours to cross the finishing line. “That’s right,” says Dick. “Rick and I never win. But we think that we always win.”

For Heinrich Schultz, a 77-year-old German retired (退休的) worker, this is a great chance he can never miss. He is part of a group of around 50 Germans who are on a bus journey along the ancient Silk Road.
Speaking of his journey, he says: “I loved the Silk Road very much when I was a little boy. Now I finally get the chance to visit it myself.”
This bus trip lasts two months. The group will pass Germany, Russia and four other European countries. Later, they will get into China from the west of China. This trip will leave wonderful memories for them.
The whole trip is 13,000 kilometers long, and nearly half of it is in China. From Xinjiang in the west to Shanghai in the east, these German tourists will visit over 20 Chinese cities. Liu Guoqiang from China Tours says, “We have run this Silk Road trip for about 10 years. More and more people join us, and they are not only from German-speaking countries.”
Almost 26 million foreigners traveled to China in 2022, and about 5 million of them were from Europe.
