Artificial intelligence (AI) is playing an increasingly important role in the restoration (修复) of Dunhuang murals (壁画). Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, located in Gansu Province, are home to more than 45,000 square meters of murals, some of which date back over 1,600 years. However, these precious artworks are facing threats from natural aging, climate change, and human activities.
A team of researchers from Tsinghua University has developed an AI-based system to assist in mural restoration. The system first uses high-resolution cameras to document detailed images of the murals. Then, AI algorithms (算法) analyze the images to identify damaged areas, such as cracks, fading, and peeling. “AI can quickly and accurately detect even the smallest damages that are difficult for human eyes to spot,” said Professor Chen, the leader of the research team.
After identifying the damaged areas, the AI system provides restoration suggestions based on historical data and the style of the murals. For example, if a color has faded, the AI can recommend the most appropriate color to match the original. The system also helps restorers simulate (模拟)the restoration effect before actual work begins, which reduces the risk of mistakes.
“The AI system has greatly improved the efficiency and accuracy of mural restoration,” Professor Chen said. “What used to take restorers months to complete can now be done in a few weeks with the help of AI.” However, Professor Chen also pointed out that AI is only an assistant tool. “Human restorers still play a crucial role in making final decisions, as restoration requires not only technical skills but also a deep understanding of the cultural and historical background of the murals.”
Some experts are concerned about the over-reliance on AI in cultural heritage restoration. “We should not let AI replace human judgment completely,” said Dr. Li, a cultural heritage expert. “The value of cultural heritage lies not only in its appearance but also in the human emotions and craftsmanship behind it.”
24. What is the main threat to Dunhuang murals mentioned in the text?
A. Lack of research funds. B. Limited restoration technology.
C. Natural aging and human actions. D. Lack of professional restorers.
25. What is the first step of the AI-based restoration system?
A. Analyzing the damaged areas.
B. Recording images of the murals in detail.
C. Providing restoration suggestions.
D. Simulating the effect of restoration.
26. Why is human involvement still important in mural restoration?
A. AI fails to detect small damages.
B. AI is too expensive to use widely.
C. AI works more slowly than human restorers.
D. AI lacks cultural and historical understanding.
27. What is Dr. Li’s attitude towards the use of AI in mural restoration?
A. Strongly opposed. B. Indifferent. C. Cautious. D. Fully supportive.

Hayley Arceneaux managed to live after bone cancer (骨癌). So she isn’t afraid of a little space travel. This fall, she will be on SpaceX’s first private flight (飞行) to circle Earth. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital chose Arceneaux for the honor (荣誉). She was a patient before she got a job at St. Jude last spring. Arceneaux will join three other people on the flight. She will be the medical officer. At 29 years old, she will be the youngest American to go into space. Arceneaux will also be the first person in space with an artificial (人造的) body part. When she was 10, Arceneaux was given an artificial knee at St. Jude.
The SpaceX flight will circle Earth. It will last two to four days. Billionaire Jared Isaacman paid for the flight. He raised money for St. Jude, which researches childhood cancers. Isaacman asked St. Jude to pick one person. Without telling its workers, leaders at the center chose from a group of workers who were also former patients.
When Arceneaux was home in Tennessee, the call came out of the blue. Her answer was “Yes! Yes! Please!” But she also checked with her family members. Her brother and sister-in-law work in the space industry. They told her space travel is safe.
Arceneaux is a lifelong space fan. She is also a risk-taker.
“My fight against cancer really prepared me for space travel,” she said. “It made me strong.” She can’t wait to show kids with cancer that “the sky is not the limit (界限) anymore.” She thinks it will “mean so much to these kids to see a former cancer patient in space.”
Isaacman, 38, is also a risk-taker. He will lead the spaceflight.
He set out to raise $200 million for St. Jude. He said he would provide 50% of the money.
“It’s not all ... about getting people excited to travel in space someday,” Isaacman said. “It’s also ... about an encouraging message of what we can achieve here on Earth.”

A. A chance to travel in space. B. Free medical treatment.
C. A round-the-world trip. D. An artificial arm.

31. Which of the following can best describe Arceneaux?
A. Adventurous and caring. B. Friendly and hopeful.

If you’ve ever felt lonely, you’re not the only one. In a survey conducted late last year in the U.S., 20 percent of adults reported feeling lonely, and this feeling is not limited to the U.S.
According to the World Health Organization, the world is experiencing a global health crisis — loneliness. Today, many live isolated (隔离的) lives. People used to belong to a variety of social clubs where they met face-to-face, whereas now, life seems to have shifted online, where people shop, hold work meetings, date, play games, etc. In fact, American adults spend significantly less time socializing face-to-face than they did 20 years ago. Adults in other countries are no better.
The issue of loneliness in South Korea has attracted national attention as young people are spending more time at home by themselves. In Singapore, the trend (趋势) is for people to believe that they need to manage their emotions by themselves. Psychologists agree this can be healthy; however, Mr. Jamil warns that too much self-reliance is dangerous if people don’t connect with others because they view it as being weak.
Mental health experts say that even though there is digital connectedness, loneliness among young adults is high because their communication is usually shallow. Clinical psychologist Haikal Jamil says, “Online connections tend to focus on brief, surface-level exchanges such as likes, comments and short messages, rather than supportive conversations.”
How can we fight this crisis? A U.S. study found that when people like what they do every day, whether work or a hobby, their chances of experiencing loneliness diminish. Additionally, exercising, taking a class or playing sports helps people feel active and productive, giving them the mental energy needed to interact with others, thus improving their mental health.
The battle against loneliness isn’t easy, but the methods above can be a start.
32. How does the author illustrate the issue in paragraph 2?
A. By making a comparison. B. By offering a definition.
C. By giving examples. D. By listing numbers.
33. Why does online communication fail to replace face-to-face socialization?
A. It lacks deep interaction. B. It refuses to follow the trend.
C. It shows signs of weakness. D. It prevents long conversations.
34. What does the underlined word “diminish” in paragraph 5 probably mean?
A. Disappear. B. Return. C. Exist. D. Decrease.
35. What is the main purpose of the passage?
A. To encourage people to take some social classes.
B. To compare loneliness levels in different countries.
C. To describe the global loneliness crisis and solutions to it.
D. To explain how online communication causes loneliness.

67. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
One summer day my father sent me to buy wire for our farm. At 16, I liked nothing better than driving our old truck, feeling the wind through the open window and the roar of the engine. But this time I was not happy. My father had told me I’d have to ask for credit at the store.
Sixteen is a prideful age, when a young man wants respect, not charity. It was 1976, and the ugly shadow of racial discrimination was still a fact of life in our small town. I’d seen my friends ask for credit and then stand, head down, while the store owner questioned whether they were “good for it.” I knew black youths just like me who were watched like thieves by the store clerk each time they went into a grocery. The memory of their embarrassed faces burned in my mind.
My family was honest. We paid our debts. My parents worked from dawn to dusk, and we never took anything that wasn’t ours. But before harvest, cash was always short. The crops were still green in the fields, and every dollar had to stretch. Would the store owner trust us? My heart pounded as I parked the truck in front of Davis’s store, dust rising around the wheels.
At Davis’s store, Buck Davis stood behind the cash desk, talking to a farmer I didn’t know. The air smelled of leather and feed. I nodded as I passed him on my way to the hardware shelves, my hands slightly sweaty. I picked up the bunch of wire and added a few other supplies we needed.
When I brought my purchases to the cash desk, I cleared my throat and said carefully, “I need to put this on credit.” The words felt heavy on my tongue.

第四部分 写作(共两节,满分40分)
第一节(满分15分)
【66题答案】
【答案】 Recently, our classmates held a heated debate about the value of money.
The pro side claimed money is essential in daily life. It can settle plenty of troubles and bring us a more comfortable life. However, the con side held different opinions. They argued money can’t buy everything, especially health. If we care too much about wealth, we will lose the true meaning of life.
As far as I’m concerned, money is just a tool. We should earn it honestly but never let it control our life.
第二节(满分25分)
【67题答案】
【答案】
The farmer gave me an amused, distrustful look but Buck’s face didn’t change. “Sure,” he said, picking up the wire. “Your daddy is always good for it.” He turned to the farmer and added, “Here is one of James Williams’s sons.” The farmer’s expression lightened. He nodded, as if seeing me for the first time. A feeling of ease washed over me, followed by something warmer — pride. Those three words, James Williams’s son, had opened a door to an adult’s respect and trust. I walked out of the store with my head high, the wire in my hands feeling light.
That day I discovered the good name my parents had earned. It brought our family the respect of our neighbors. Everyone knew what to expect from a Williams: a decent person who kept his word. Driving home, I understood that a good name wasn’t something you asked for — it was something you lived. My father had given me more than a truck. He had given me a legacy of honesty and the quiet power of being known as someone who could be trusted.
