A. On Thursday. B. On Saturday. C. On Sunday. M: Do you like to go to the zoo on Sunday? W: Yes, I like to go to the zoo, but not on Sunday, because it’s always crowded. How about going on a Friday or Saturday? 2. How did the woman learn about the hotel? A. By watching TV. B. By reading the newspaper. C. By searching on the Internet. M: Welcome to our hotel, madam. May I ask how you found out about us? Was it our recent ad on TV or in the newspaper? W: In fact, I found this place while using the Internet. 3. What are the speakers doing? A. Studying English. B. Shopping in a store. C. Ordering a meal. M: Here is a menu printed in English. What would you like, Judy? W: Well, I think I’ll have fried chicken first. It’s one of the most popular foods here. 4. What does the man suggest the woman do? A. Request a wake-up call. B. Catch the first flight. C. Go to bed early. W: I hope I won’t oversleep. I’ve simply got to catch the first flight. M: If I were you, I’d request a wake-up call from the hotel reception. 5. When did the new gym open? A. Last week. B. Two weeks ago. C. Last month. M: Hi, Amanda, have you been to the new gym? W: No, I haven’t. I thought it wasn’t ready yet. It was shut when I walked past it last month. M: They finished painting it two weeks ago. I joined it last Saturday when it opened. It was really crowded but it’s really modern. 6. What is the main argument against the “melting pot” metaphor? A. It is scientifically inaccurate. B. It implies forced assimilation. C. It is historically outdated. 7. What alternative metaphor does the woman prefer? A. A tapestry. B. A mosaic. C. A salad bowl. B 7. W: I’ve never liked the “melting pot” idea for multicultural societies. It suggests everyone should blend into one homogeneous culture, losing their distinctness. M: What’s wrong with aiming for unity? W: True unity shouldn’t require erasure. The “melting pot” historically often meant conforming to a dominant Anglo-Protestant norm in the US. A better metaphor is a “mosaic” or “tapestry” — where individual cultural pieces remain distinct but together create a beautiful, stronger whole. Diversity is the strength, not an ingredient to be melted away. M: So you value integration that preserves unique identities over assimilation? W: Exactly. Assimilation is about subtraction; integration is about addition and mutual enrichment. 8. What is the man? A. A salesman. B. A coach. C. A tennis player. 9. The modern white building. C 9. A 10. W: You’re so lucky, Todd. You travel all over the world. I never leave Chicago! M: Yeah, but it’s hard work. I just practice, practice, practice and play tennis all the time. I don’t get time to see much. W: What about last year? Where did you go? Tell me about it. M: Well, in January I was in Melbourne for the Australian Open. It’s a beautiful city, sort of big. There’s a nice mixture of old and new buildings. January is their summer, so it was hot when I was there. W: And what’s Dubai like? When were you there? M: In February. We went from Australia to Dubai for the Dubai Tennis Open. Hot, very dry, very modern. Lots of really modern buildings, white buildings. An interesting place. I enjoyed it. W: And Paris! That’s where I want to go! What’s Paris like? M: Everything that you imagine! Very beautiful, wonderful old buildings but lots of interesting modern ones, too. And of course very, very romantic, especially in May. They aren’t vegetables, you know. M: Really? I thought they were vegetables that grew in the ocean. W: Nope. They are animals living in the ocean. M: Oh, no! Actually, Jenny took my order. Maybe I can talk to her. W: Sorry. She had an emergency at home. But I’m sure if I talk to the manager, he can give you a discount for the order. M: That’s OK. 17. His mother was once ill for three years. He attended to her each day after dealing with affairs of state. For safety reasons, he would test the medicine before he took it to his mother. His filial piety (孝顺) was praised throughout the kingdom. During his rule, the population flourished and the country prospered. Tanzi was a viscount in the State of Tan during the Spring and Autumn Period. His aged parents suffered from eye diseases and needed to drink deer’s milk as part of their treatment. He therefore disguised himself in a deerskin and sneaked into a herd of deer in the mountains to obtain deer's milk. Once, when he was taking deer's milk, a hunter mistook him for a deer and was going to shoot him. He revealed himself and told the truth to the hunter. The hunter respected his filial piety and escorted him out of the mountains. Huang Xiang lived in the Eastern Han Dynasty. His mother passed away when he was 9. He would cool his father’s pillow and mat with a fan in the hot summer and warm his father’s quilts and cushions with his body in the cold winter. When he grew up, he served as the prefect (太守) of Wei County. When the county suffered from a flood, he donated all his possessions to help victims. A saying goes that there is no parallel in this world to Huang Xiang. Wang Xiang lived in the Western Jin Dynasty. His mother died when he was young. His stepmother didn’t treat him well and often spoke ill of him. Because of this, he also lost the love of his father. But when his parents were ill, he looked after them carefully. One cold winter day, his stepmother wanted to eat fresh fish. He took off his clothes and lay on the frozen river to melt the ice with his body. The ice melted and two carp (鲤鱼) leaped out. He took them home and his stepmother was moved. 24. Why did Liu Heng test his mother's medicine personally? A. To please his mother. B. To ensure his mother's safety. C. To make the country prosperous. D. To find out the side effect of the medicine. 25. What risk did Tanzi face while collecting deer's milk for his parents? A. Getting lost deep in the mountains. B. Being shot by hunters due to disguise. C. Being attacked by deer unexpectedly. D. Being exposed to extreme weather conditions. 26. What does the underlined sentence imply about Huang Xiang? A. His exceptional talent as a county prefect. B. His unique ability to predict natural disasters. C. His unmatched selflessness and filial devotion. D. His popularity among villagers for his wisdom. 27. What does Wang Xiang’s action of lying on the ice mainly reflect? A. His physical endurance in extreme cold. B. His knowledge of traditional fishing methods. C. His desire to prove his innocence to his father. D. His determination to fulfill family duties despite hardships. B 25. B 26. C 27. 根据第一段中“For safety reasons, he would test the medicine before he took it to his mother. (出于安全考虑,他会在把药给母亲之前先试药。)”可知,刘恒亲尝汤药是为了确保母亲的安全。故选B项。 【25题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段中“Once, when he was taking deer's milk, a hunter mistook him for a deer and was going to shoot him. (有一次,当他在取鹿奶时,一个猎人把他误认为是一只鹿,正要射杀他。)”可知,郯子挤取鹿乳时披着鹿皮, 故有被猎人误射杀的危险。故选B项。 【26题详解】 词句猜测题。根据第三段中“Huang Xiang lived in the Eastern Han Dynasty. (黄香生活在东汉时期。他9岁时母亲去世。在炎热的夏天,他会用扇子给父亲的枕头和凉席降温;在寒冷的冬天,他会用身体给父亲的被子和坐垫取暖。长大后,他担任了魏县的太守。当县里遭受洪水灾害时,他捐出了所有的财产来帮助灾民。)”可知,黄香不仅对父亲孝顺至极,而且在成为官员后还无私地帮助灾民,由此可推知,划线句子“A saying goes that there is no parallel in this world to Huang Xiang. (俗话说,世上无人能与黄香相提并论。)”是在称赞黄香无与伦比的无私和孝道,与C项“His unmatched selflessness and filial devotion. (他无与伦比的无私和孝道。)”意思一致。故选C项。 【27题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段“Wang Xiang lived in the Western Jin Dynasty. He took them home and his stepmother was moved..(王祥生活在西晋时期。 C It was the summer before junior year. I was a waitress at a little restaurant. My duties were straightforward: taking orders, delivering food and cleaning tables. I got really good at managing multiple tasks, and having a lot of responsibilities made me more responsible. These values and skills are what numerous studies hold up as the important reasons why teenagers should work during the summer. They’re what teachers mention when they encourage us to get jobs. I developed those skills. But I don’t think that’s the main benefit high school students get from working. So much happened in the interstitial (空隙的) time and spaces between our roles as waitresses, cooks and customers. This is where I think the value of a high school job lies: learning how to form a community with people I never would have otherwise known. High school students spend about seven hours a day in classes, and then often stay afterward for school-sponsored sports or activities. It’s not necessarily a bad thing to be wrapped up in school. But what I find is that a job can serve as a relief from the academic tasks of high school. This relief came not from avoiding people, but from engaging with a community I would never have found in the halls of my high school. The people I met at the restaurant taught me that you can become friends with those decades older than you and strangers who have none of the same interests or hobbies as you do. They taught me that you can wildly disagree with someone and still respect them, learn from them, and love them. 28. What is commonly believed to be the main benefit teenagers get from work? A. Earning money for college. B. Learning to form a community. C. Developing responsibility and skills. D. Making friends with different people. 29. What does the author say about high school life? A. It lacks meaningful activities. B. It focuses on academics. C. It is highly school-centered. D. It provides adequate social opportunities. 30. What did the author learn from people at the restaurant? A. Friends should share similar interests. B. Workplace relationships are temporary. C. True friendship requires constant agreement. D. Meaningful connections can bridge differences. 31. What is the author’s main conclusion about her job experience? A. It helped improve her academic performance. B. Its greatest value went beyond skill development. C. It confirmed traditional views about student jobs. D. Its main benefit was earning teachers’ approval. C 29. C 30. D 31. 根据第二段“These values and skills are what numerous studies hold up as the important reasons why teenagers should work during the summer.(这些价值观和技能是众多研究认为青少年应该在暑期打工的重要原因。)”以及第一段中“My duties were straightforward: taking orders, delivering food and cleaning tables. I got really good at managing multiple tasks, and having a lot of responsibilities made me more responsible.(我的工作职责很简单:点餐、上菜、清理餐桌。我变得非常擅长同时处理多项任务,而肩负诸多责任也让我更有责任心了。)” 可知,人们普遍认为青少年打工的主要好处是培养责任感和技能。故选C项。 【29题详解】 推理判断题。根据第四段“High school students spend about seven hours a day in classes, and then often stay afterward for school-sponsored sports or activities. It’s not necessarily a bad thing to be wrapped up in school.(高中生每天大约上7小时课,之后还常常参加校内体育或活动。沉浸在校园生活中未必是坏事。)”可知,作者认为高中生活高度以学校为中心。故选C项。 【30题详解】 推理判断题。根据第五段“The people I met at the restaurant taught me that you can become friends with those decades older than you and strangers who have none of the same interests or hobbies as you do. They taught me that you can wildly disagree with someone and still respect them, learn from them, and love them.(我在餐厅遇到的人让我明白,你可以和比你年长几十岁、兴趣爱好完全不同的人成为朋友。他们让我懂得,即使与他人意见分歧很大,依然可以尊重、学习并关爱对方。)”可知,作者学到有意义的关系可以跨越差异。故选D项。 【31题详解】 推理判断题。根据第二段“But I don’t think that’s the main benefit high school students get from working.(但我认为那并不是高中生打工的主要收获。)”和第三段“This is where I think the value of a high school job lies: learning how to form a community with people I never would have otherwise known.(我认为高中生打工的价值在于:学会与原本不可能认识的人建立群体联结。)” D I grew up in a middle-class neighborhood. It’s not famous for producing success stories, or CEOs. My childhood was fairly free and uncared-for. My parents only cared about partying and themselves, which left me to figure out life on my own. Being fairly successful now and living in a much better neighborhood, I still think about the days of working to buy my own school lunch. Even though growing up privileged (享有特权的) would have been great, there are so many things I wouldn’t trade from growing up poor. You had to learn to survive on your own. Your neighborhood was rough and full of people looking to take advantage of you. These experiences have made you stronger. You observe your environment, keep up your guard at any time, and learn to trust your courage. A Harvard education is an amazing thing, but street smarts will give you something that you can never learn from books. When you have nothing, your dreams fill the emptiness. You desire success, money, power, happiness, etc. You grew up watching rich people on TV and wanting to be someone like them. These dreams lead to passion, goals, and achievements. Even if you never make millions, you fulfill your dreams by doing better than your parents did, and going further in your career. From a very young age, you had to learn to budget for gas, food, weekend money, and clothes. You had to work harder for everything in your life, so you appreciated it more and it has taught you that work ethic (职业道德) is usually not a natural, but a learned thing. It’s hard to teach. When the privileged ones quit for the day, you didn’t, because for you there was no fall back plan or safety net. At the end of the day, you’ll do what it takes to survive. 32. What do we know about the author’s parents? A. They lived a happy life. B. They were not responsible. C. They often held parties at home. D. They trained the author to be independent. 33. What can we infer about the author from Paragraph 2? A. He is disappointed with his present life. B. He envies those growing up privileged. C. He values his early experiences. D. He prefers a poor life. 34. What did the author get from his early life? A. The way to be rich. B. The tips on working hard. C. The dream to be successful. D. The skills to be a street leader. 35. Which of the following can be the best title for the text? A. Your Early Life Affects You a Lot B. It Takes Poor People More to Succeed C. You Should Be Grateful for What You Have D. Growing up Poor Takes You Further in Your Life 【答案】32. B 33. C 34. C 35. 根据第一段中“My childhood was fairly free and uncared-for. My parents only cared about partying and themselves, which left me to figure out life on my own.( 我的童年相当自由,也缺乏关爱。父母只关心聚会和自己,这让我不得不独自弄清楚生活。)”可知,作者的父母只在意玩乐和自身,放任孩子独自摸索生活,本质是对家庭、对孩子缺乏责任感。 【33题详解】 推理判断题。根据第二段“Being fairly successful now and living in a much better neighborhood, I still think about the days of working to buy my own school lunch. Even though growing up privileged (享有特权的) would have been great, there are so many things I wouldn’t trade from growing up poor.( 如今我已相当成功,并生活在条件更好的社区里,但我仍会想起当年为买学校午餐而努力奋斗的日子。虽然出身优越本该是件美好的事,但那些贫困成长的岁月里有许多东西,是我不会愿意交换的。)”可知,从第二段可以推断出作者珍视自己的早期经历。 【34题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段中“When you have nothing, your dreams fill the emptiness. You desire success, money, power, happiness, etc. You grew up watching rich people on TV and wanting to be someone like them. These dreams lead to passion, goals, and achievements.(当你一无所有时,梦想便填满了空虚。 Beginning a journey can be an enlightening experience, especially for students. ___36___ It’s a transformative and educational adventure. The air was crisp, the leaves were turning golden, and the students were buzzing with excitement. After weeks of studying and exams, everyone welcomed the chance to enjoy nature and relax outdoors. Among the students were four close friends: Leo, Eric, Jason, and Alice. Though their personalities were quite different, they made a great team. Alice, the only girl in the group, was smart and well-prepared. She had brought along a compass, a map, and even a first-aid kit. After arriving at the campsite, the students pitched their tents, gathered firewood, and helped prepare a simple meal. The campsite was surrounded by tall pine trees, and in the distance, a mountain stream could be heard. The teachers reminded everyone to stay within the marked area and never go off-trail alone. After lunch, the students were allowed to explore in small groups. Leo’s group decided to follow a trail leading up a hill. According to Alice, there was a small lookout point that offered a beautiful view of the valley. As they walked, Jason kept running ahead, calling the others to hurry. “Let’s see what’s up there!” he shouted. Alice followed closely behind, holding the map. Leo walked at a steady pace, checking that no one fell behind. Eric lagged at the end, clearly nervous about being so deep in the forest. The path became narrower as they climbed. Birds chirped in the trees, and dry leaves crunched under their shoes. The sunlight filtered through the branches above, casting dancing shadows on the ground. After about an hour, they reached the edge of a rocky area covered in leaves. The trail began to twist more than expected, and many landmarks they passed didn’t match what was on the map. “I think the viewpoint is just beyond this slope (斜坡),” Jason said, pointing excitedly. Leo looked uncertain. “Let’s be careful. It looks slippery.” But before anyone could stop him, Jason had already climbed ahead. Just as he reached the top of the slope, his foot slipped. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ With the first aid finished, they realized a new challenge: how to get back. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 Just as he reached the top of the slope, his foot slipped. Jason lost his balance and fell down the rocky slope, rolling over and over until he finally came to a stop at the bottom. The others gasped in horror. Alice quickly rushed down to him, checking for injuries. “Jason, are you okay?” she asked, her voice trembling. Leo and Eric followed closely behind, their faces pale with worry. Fortunately, Jason seemed to have only suffered a few scrapes and bruises, but he was clearly in pain and couldn’t stand up on his own. With the first aid finished, they realized a new challenge: how to get back. The slope was too steep and slippery for Jason to climb up alone. “We need to find a safer way,” Leo said, looking around. They noticed a narrow path that seemed to lead back to the main trail, which was a relief. Eric volunteered to stay with Jason while Alice and Leo went ahead to explore the path. “Don’t worry,” Alice reassured Jason, “we’ll come back for you soon.” After what seemed like ages, they returned and guided everyone safely back to the campsite, where the teachers were waiting anxiously. 词汇激活 行为类 ①检查:check/examine ②猛冲:rush/dash ③四处张望:look around/glance around 情绪类 ①惊恐地:in horror/in fear ②担心:worry/be concerned/feel anxious 【点睛】【高分句型1】They noticed a narrow path that seemed to lead back to the main trail, which was a relief. C It was the summer before junior year. D I grew up in a middle-class neighborhood. Growing up Poor Takes You Further in Your Life Beginning a journey can be an enlightening experience, especially for students. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $听力考试正式开始。 Do you like to go to the zoo on sunday?
