In the morning, we went camping in a park. We were happy because it was a sunny day. We were excited about a two-day holiday. In the afternoon, after our picnic, it was getting dark and windy. Soon, it rained. Unluckily, we didn’t take umbrellas (雨伞). We ran about but we couldn’t find any place to hide (躲藏). Our small compass (指南针) showed we got lost.
We had to make a quick decision because it was raining heavily. Mike suggested we could set up a tent at once to hide in, so Mary and Tom helped to set up the tent. Mike and I tried to make a fire to keep us warm. But we failed because everything was wet. We dried ourselves, chatted and waited inside the tent. At about five o’clock, it stopped raining. We decided to give up the camping trip because all of us were very tired.
This camping trip may not be so good but the most important thing I have learned from this trip is the importance of teamwork.

Do you know why the Earth is called the “Blue Planet”? Because up to 70% of its surface (表面) is covered by water! However, there are still a lot of people who have to walk for over half an hour to get clean water. Why is it so difficult to get clean water? Will we run out of water one day?
Most of the water on Earth is too salty (咸) for us to use. In fact, only 2.5% of the water on our planet is fresh water. However, not all of it can be used. For example, we can’t get the fresh water in rocks (岩石) deep underground. In the end, the fresh water that we can use is only about 0.007% of the water on Earth!
Luckily, ______. When water turns into water vapour (水蒸气), it doesn’t run off into space. Since the atmosphere (大气层) is very cold, the water vapour becomes ice and falls back to the ground into water.
The amount (总量) of fresh water on Earth stays about the same. However, the number of people on this planet is growing quickly. So, there will be more and more people who don’t have enough clean water to drink or use. If we don’t change the ways we use water, this problem will become even worse (更糟的) in the future.
28. How does the writer begin the passage?
A. By asking a question.
B. By giving an example.
C. By listing numbers.
29. What’s the main idea of the Paragraph 2?
A. Most of the water on Earth is salty.
B. The fresh water we can use is very little.
C. There is a lot of fresh water for us to use.
30. Which sentence can be put in “______” in Paragraph 3?
A. our planet can reuse water well
B. our planet can save water well
C. our planet can keep water well
31. What is the purpose (目的) of the passage?
A. To tell people not to use fresh water.
B. To ask people to get more fresh water.
C. To ask people to save fresh water.

Near Helen’s house there’s a new skatepark (滑板运动场). A lot of young people in the town go there after school with their skateboards. Helen is very interested in skateboarding. The only thing is--she has no skateboard!
Tom, her cousin, is good at skateboarding. He can control (控制) the skateboard well. He can do a lot of tricks, such as riding, jumping and turning. Sometimes Tom asks Helen, “Hey, do you want to get on my skateboard?” So she does — but not for long. She doesn’t want to fall off in front of everybody.
Helen gets a present on her birthday. She opens it. “Wow! A skateboard! Thanks! I have my skateboard now. So I can do more,” Helen says happily.
Helen takes her new skateboard to the skatepark with Tom. Helen is excited. They be- gin skateboarding. “Maybe I can jump now,” she thinks. She goes faster and jumps — but she falls off her skateboard. When she is on the ground, somebody laughs at her. “Oh, no! This is really bad! No more skateboarding for me!” She thinks. She gets up quickly and leaves.
The next day, Helen sees a woman sitting on the grass with her baby boy. The little boy is trying to stand. “Good boy, Daniel,” his mother says, “Stand up now.” Daniel stands up slowly. He takes one little step and falls down. “Don’t cry. Try again.” his mother says. Daniel stops crying. He takes his mother’s hand, and stands up again. Helen watches them for five minutes. “He doesn’t stop falling. But it doesn’t matter,” Helen thinks.
One Saturday afternoon, Helen goes to the skatepark with Tom. At the skatepark, Tom says, “Everybody falls off sometimes.” “How do you do that trick? I want to learn it.” Helen asks. “Put your right foot here, then push with your left foot.” Tom says. “OK.” Helen says, “I need some more exercise.” “You’re a real skateboarder now, Helen,” Tom tells her quietly.

34. Who makes Helen change her idea about skateboarding?
A. A young man.
