根据短文内容,判断正误(正确“T”,错误“F”)。
The Kalahari is one of the hottest places in southern Africa, and there is often no water. People there get water from plants like desert melons. When they are ill, they also use plants as medicine, because there are no hospitals nearby.
The last people living in the Kalahari are the San, also called “bush people”. They live in small groups of 25-50 people. They live in little houses made of wood and grass. There are no schools for the children. Children learn from the elderly in the group. They have to learn lots of important things about living in such a challenging place.
The Kalahari has two parts: the south is drier with fewer plants and animals, while the north gets more rain. When rain comes in late summer, the land becomes green and beautiful with many flowers and butterflies. But soon, the grass and the bushes get dry and turn brown.
Thousands of tourists visit the Kalahari every year. They stay in small wooden houses with beds and showers, but no electricity (电). Tour guides, often San bushmen, tell them stories about the Kalahari. Tourists must be careful of wild animals like lions when they go out.
21. People in the Kalahari get their water from rivers and lakes.
22. The bush people teach kids important things about living in the Kalahari.

Fan Jinshi is a famous archaeologist (考古学家) in China. She is known as the “Daughter of Dunhuang” because she spent most of her life protecting (保护) the Mogao Caves.
Born in Beijing, Fan grew up in Shanghai. In 1963, after she finished college, she went to work in Dunhuang. Life there was very tough. She lived in a small house with poor light. The water was salty and the weather was dry. But she did not give up.
In 1987, the Mogao Caves became a World Heritage site (世界文化遗产). This success came from the hard work of Fan and her team. In 2003, a new law was made to protect the caves. Fan played an important role in making this law.
At the age of 65, Fan had a great idea. She wanted to use digital (数码的) technology to keep the caves beautiful forever. In 2016, “Digital Dunhuang” was born. On 4 May, 2023, Fan Jinshi gave 10 million yuan to Beijing University to support Dunhuang studies. A few months later, she gave another 10 million yuan to protect Dunhuang. In total, she donated 20 million yuan.

Water is basic to life on earth. It is very important in our life. In fact, it is the source (来源) of life. All living things, from the tiniest insects to the tallest trees, need water to survive.
Nearly 70 percent of the human body is water. Our bodies need water to work well. It helps control body temperature, digest food, carry nutrients and remove waste. People can only live for a few days without water. Luckily, the amount of water on Earth is almost the same as it was over 100 million years ago. Surprisingly, the water we drink now is the same water that people drank in the past. How is this possible?
The answer is the water cycle. Water keeps moving and changes its form all the time in this cycle. Here is how it works. The sun heats the water in lakes, rivers and oceans, and the water turns into water vapor (水蒸气). The water vapor goes up into the sky. As it rises, it becomes cool and mixes with dust (尘土), and then it turns into clouds. When there is too much water in the clouds, rain or snow falls down to the ground. This is precipitation (降水). Rain and snow fall on the earth and flow into lakes, rivers or go into the ground. After that, the water cycle starts again, protecting all living things on earth.
The water cycle is an amazing process. It helps keep the balance of our earth.
36. Which of the following is NOT mentioned in paragraph 1?
A. Water is very important to humans.
B. Water is considered as the source of life.
C. All living things can’t live without water.
D. To survive, insects need more water than trees.
37. What do we know about water according to paragraph 2?
A. Water can’t help control body temperature.
B. Nearly eighty percent of our human body is water.
C. We can survive for a few months if we don’t drink water.
D. The water we drink today is the same as that people used to drink.
38. What is the right order of the water cycle?
① Rain or snow falls down to the ground.
② Water is heated by the sun and turns into vapor.
③ Vapor rises, cools down, mixes with dust and forms clouds.
④ The water runs into lakes and rivers, and the cycle starts again.
A. ②③①④ B. ③②①④ C. ②①③④ D. ③①②④
