My host, Batbayer, has a cheerful face, with deep wrinkles and a color from long hours working outdoors, giving him the look of a sailor from an Ernest Hemingway novel. We have pre-arranged our visit but travelers in Mongolia can drive up to pretty much any ger (蒙古包) and feel welcomed to stay. You don’t have to knock on the door: when you approach a nomadic family, a traditional greeting is to say a kind “Hold your dog.”, even if you don’t see a dog. We feast at the family home on one of the country’s most unique and tasty dishes: khorkhog, or mutton cooked using hot rocks. This comes served with onions, a variety of berries, and milk — besides more plates of meat, all from the family’s own livestock (家畜). Mongolia is home to one of the world’s few remaining truly nomadic cultures. About a fifth of the population are herders, and nomadism is complexly woven into the country’s spirit. But modern life is catching up with the people on the grassland at rapid speed. This is in large part what my book is about: an outsider’s exploration of a society undergoing modernization while trying to hold fast to its deeply rooted traditional values. Many of the livestock here, especially the more valuable breeds such as horses, camels and cattle, are implanted (植入) with microchips that can be monitored through satellite-based services. “I would like to use the Internet more because it’s fun and useful; but the animals like it here. This is a good place for them,” Batbayer says when I ask if better Internet connectivity might influence where to move his livestock next. “I would never choose Facebook over the well-being of the animals.” 4. Which aspect of the herders does the author focus on in paragraph 1? A. Living conditions. B. Pet preference. C. Reading habits. D. Friendliness. 5. What do we know about nomadic culture? A. Herders have no access to fruits and vegetables. B. It is the world’s leading culture. C. The majority of Mongolians are herders. D. Herders’ life is being modernized. 6. What can we infer from Batbayer’s words in the last paragraph? A. He refuses to use social media. B. He will no longer employ microchips. C. He puts the good care of livestock first. D. He will introduce more valuable breeds. 7. What can be the best title for the text? A. Nomadic Life in Mongolia: Tradition and Modern Life B. Ways to Communicate with Mongolian Herders C. The Popularity of High Technology in Mongolia D. Traditional Dishes of Mongolian Nomadic Families 【答案】4. D 5. D 6. C 7. 根据第一段中“We have pre-arranged our visit but travelers in Mongolia can drive up to pretty much any ger and feel welcomed to stay. (我们提前安排了访问,但在蒙古,游客几乎可以去到任何一个蒙古包,都会受到欢迎留下住宿。)”可知,本段重点体现了牧民的友善好客。 【5题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段中“But modern life is catching up with the people on the grassland at rapid speed. This is in large part what my book is about: an outsider’s exploration of a society undergoing modernization while trying to hold fast to its deeply rooted traditional values. (但现代生活正快速席卷草原上的人们。这就是我的书的核心内容:一个外来者对这个正在经历现代化、同时仍努力坚守根深蒂固传统价值的社会的探索。)”并结合第四段中“Many of the livestock here, especially the more valuable breeds such as horses, camels and cattle, are implanted with microchips that can be monitored through satellite-based services. (这里许多家畜,尤其是马、骆驼、牛这类价值更高的品种,体内都植入了微型芯片,可通过卫星系统追踪监测。)”可知,现代生活正快速影响草原牧民,游牧社会一边现代化一边坚守传统。 【6题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段中巴特巴耶尔所说的话“I would never choose Facebook over the well-being of the animals. (我绝不会选择脸书,而舍弃牲畜的安康。)”可推知,巴特巴耶尔将照顾好牲畜放在第一位。 【7题详解】 主旨大意题。根据第三段中“But modern life is catching up with the people on the grassland at rapid speed. This is in large part what my book is about: an outsider’s exploration of a society undergoing modernization while trying to hold fast to its deeply rooted traditional values. (但现代生活正快速席卷草原上的人们。这就是我的书的核心内容:一个外来者对这个正在经历现代化、同时仍努力坚守根深蒂固传统价值的社会的探索。)”并结合全文可知,文章围绕蒙古游牧生活展开,核心展现了游牧文化中传统与现代化并存的现状,A选项“Nomadic Life in Mongolia: Tradition and Modern Life (蒙古的游牧生活:传统与现代)”符合全文主旨,适合作为标题。 C Lonely? You’re hardly alone. Loneliness was becoming a growing problem for teens, especially girls throughout industrial nations across the globe. That’s the finding of a new study. The new study linked rising loneliness to a greater use of smartphones and the Internet over the same years. Jean Twenge and her team shared their new findings in the July 20th Journal of Adolescence. Twenge, a psychologist working at San Diego State University in California, and her team have found since 2012, U.S. teens have been spending less time together face-to-face. “Smartphones can help keep us connected with friends,” says Twenge. “But they can also make people feel excluded (被排斥).” Girls, especially, may feel this way. Studies have shown that girls may feel like an outcast if the photos and selfies they post don’t get a lot of “likes”. And then there’s “phubbing”, a mixture of “phone” and “snubbing”. It’s a moment in which a friend or family member takes out a phone and stares at it, ignoring everybody else, including you. Phubbing is one way tech can affect you, even when you’re not the one using it. The fact that so many more were reporting loneliness is a worrisome trend. Could technology really be behind that? “In general, I tend to think of technology as one piece of a broader puzzle contributing to loneliness,” says Amanda Lenhart, a researcher who studies how technology affects people’s lives at the Data & Society Research Institute. If technology leads to loneliness, should we stop using it? “No, not at all,” argues Twenge. “Everybody of all ages is trying to figure out how we can best use these technologies and stay mentally healthy.” Her favorite bit of advice is to “use your smartphone for what it’s good for. Then put it away.” That includes putting it away overnight — ideally in another room. 8. What is mainly talked about in Paragraph 2? A. The cause of increasing loneliness among teens. B. Ways to gain more “likes” online. C. Different attitudes toward social media. D. The popularity of smartphones in the US. 9. What kind of person does the underlined word “phubbing” refer to? A. Being addicted to the Internet. B. Being affected by technology. C. Mixing words to create new ones. D. Ignoring someone while using a phone. 10. What advice does Twenge give about the use of the telephone? A. Reducing its use. B. Banning it thoroughly. C. Using it properly. D. Never using it overnight. 11. Where is the text probably taken from? A. A personal diary. B. A science fiction. C. A science magazine. D. A questionnaire survey. A 9. D 10. C 11. 根据文章第二段中“The new study linked rising loneliness to a greater use of smartphones and the Internet over the same years. (这项新研究将不断上升的孤独感与同期智能手机和互联网使用量的增加联系起来。)”可知,本段主要讲了研究发现青少年孤独感上升与手机、互联网使用增多相关,解释了青少年孤独加剧的原因。 【9题详解】 词句猜测题。根据文章第三段“And then there’s ‘phubbing’, a mixture of ‘phone’ and ‘snubbing’. It’s a moment in which a friend or family member takes out a phone and stares at it, ignoring everybody else, including you. (此外还有‘phubbing’,这个词由‘手机’和‘snubbing’组合而成。它指的是朋友或家人拿出手机盯着屏幕,忽略包括你在内的其他所有人的行为。)”可推知,phubbing指的就是使用手机时忽略他人的行为。 【10题详解】 细节理解题。根据文章第五段中“‘Everybody of all ages is trying to figure out how we can best use these technologies and stay mentally healthy.’ Her favorite bit of advice is to ‘use your smartphone for what it’s good for. Then put it away.’ (每个年龄段的人都在摸索如何最好地使用这些技术同时保持心理健康。她最推荐的建议是‘用智能手机做它擅长的事,之后就把它收起来。’)可知,特温格建议发挥手机用处后就收起来,并非彻底禁用或单纯减少使用,核心是合理使用。 【11题详解】 推理判断题。根据文章第一段中“Loneliness was becoming a growing problem for teens, especially girls throughout industrial nations across the globe. That’s the finding of a new study. (在全球工业化国家,青少年尤其是女孩的孤独问题正愈发严重。这是一项新研究得出的结论。)”并结合全文可知,本文介绍了一项关于孤独感加剧与智能手机使用关系的研究发现,内容为科普研究内容,符合科学杂志的内容特征。 D Intelligence could play a role, according to a Michigan State University study that investigated the early stages of learning to play the piano. Published in the journal Intelligence, the study may be the first to examine the relationship between intelligence, music talent and growth mindset (referring to whether students believe they can improve basic abilities). “The strongest factor of skill acquisition (习得) is intelligence, followed by music talent,” said Alexander Burgoyne, the leader of the study. “By contrast, the relevance between growth mindset and piano performance is as close to zero as possible.” In the study, 161 undergraduates were taught how to play “Happy Birthday” on the piano with the help of a video guide. There were striking differences in the students’ skill acquisition process. Some learned quickly, earning perfect marks within six minutes of practice. Others performed poorly at first but improved considerably later. By comparison, some seemed to have lost their motivation and others never figured it out, performing poorly throughout the study. So why did some students fail while others succeeded? To find out, the researchers gave the students tests that measured things like problem-solving skills and processing speed, and tests that measured music talent. They also surveyed their growth mindset. Burgoyne said, “The results were surprising, because people had previously claimed that mindset plays an important role when students are faced with challenges, like trying to learn a new musical instrument. And yet, it didn’t suit skill acquisition. That said, results will possibly differ for those with greater skills.” He added, “Our study examined only one of the earliest stages of skill acquisition. Early experiences can be important, but I would warn against drawing conclusions about skilled musicians based on our study of beginners.” But applied generally, the study’s findings may be helpful in education. According to a recent review of mindset research, methods designed to gain some achievement by encouraging children to believe they can improve their basic abilities may be fruitless. 12. What does the study by Burgoyne intend to find out? A. How students can play the piano best. B. What matters most in beginner pianists’ skill acquisition. C. Why talent is essential as a beginner pianist. D. What causes the difficulty for beginners to learn the piano. 13. What does the study show about basic skill acquisition? A. It has little relationship with mindset. B. It requires outstanding music talent. C. It requires fast processing speed. D. It depends on problem-solving skills. 14. Which of the following might Burgoyne agree with? A. Learning musical instrument isn’t easy. B. Methods are necessary for learning. C. Mindset is key to one’s musical achievements. D. His finding can’t apply to skilled musicians. 15. Which plays the most significant role for beginner pianists according to the passage? A. Mindset. B. Intelligence. C. Talent. D. Skill. 【答案】12. B 13. A 14. D 15. B 【解析】 【导语】文章主要介绍了密歇根州立大学开展的一项探究初学钢琴阶段,智力、音乐天赋与成长型思维对钢琴技能习得影响的研究,公布了研究结果,并说明了该研究对教育领域的参考意义。 【12题详解】 推理判断题。根据文章第一段中“Published in the journal Intelligence, the study may be the first to examine the relationship between intelligence, music talent and growth mindset (referring to whether students believe they can improve basic abilities). (该研究发表在《智力》期刊上,或许是首个探究智力、音乐天赋与成长型思维(指学生是否相信自己可以提升基础能力)之间关系的研究。)”以及第三段研究者为弄清不同初学者学钢琴表现差异的原因开展测试可知,该研究的目的是探究初学钢琴者技能习得过程中什么因素最重要。 【13题详解】 细节理解题。根据文章第二段中“By contrast, the relevance between growth mindset and piano performance is as close to zero as possible. (相比之下,成长型思维与钢琴表现的关联几乎为零。)”可知,基础技能习得和思维模式几乎没有关联。 【14题详解】 推理判断题。根据文章第四段中“Our study examined only one of the earliest stages of skill acquisition. Early experiences can be important, but I would warn against drawing conclusions about skilled musicians based on our study of beginners. (我们的研究只覆盖技能习得最早期的阶段。初学阶段的经历固然重要,但不能仅凭这项针对新手的研究,就对熟练音乐家下定论。)”可推知,伯戈因认为该研究发现并不适用于熟练音乐家。 【15题详解】 细节理解题。根据文章第二段中“The strongest factor of skill acquisition is intelligence, followed by music talent (技能习得最主要的影响因素是智力,其次才是音乐天赋)”可知,对初学钢琴的人来说,智力发挥的作用最重要。 第二节(共5小题,每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。有两项为多余选项。 How Do You Motivate Seniors to Use Technology? (可以带她加入线上社群,和他人分享她最喜欢的爱好。)”介绍了线上兴趣社群,D选项“Is your grandma a social butterfly? (你奶奶是社交达人吗?)”承接前文父亲的例子,对应后文“介绍线上小组分享爱好”的社交属性,逻辑通顺,选项中的“your grandma”呼应后文的“her”。 【19题详解】 根据后文“Did grandma finally send her first text message? Did grandpa figure out how to turn on the air conditioner on his smart home device? Make a big deal out of it! Positive small reinforcement goes a long way toward building confidence and motivation. (奶奶终于发出第一条短信了?爷爷弄懂怎么用智能家居设备开空调了?一定要大加夸赞!持续的正向鼓励能极大帮助老人建立自信、提升学习动力。)”可知,本段核心是关于老年人学会小技能后要大力肯定,用积极反馈建立信心,A选项“Celebrate small wins. (庆祝小成就。)”精准概括本段内容,适合做主题句。 【20题详解】 根据前文“Be patient. Learning takes time, especially for those who didn’t grow up with technology. Show patience and understanding. One day, Jatin took Neha’s shoes to a shoe repairman to be fixed, but he lost them on the way home. It wasn’t until he got home that he realized he had lost the shoes. He was afraid that his parents would be angry and disappointed, so he begged his sister to keep it secret. Neha agreed and the two decided to share Jatin’s running shoes. Neha’s school hours were in the morning, so she would wear them first. After school, she would rush back and give them to Jatin. He could then run to his school, which began in the afternoon. Although he ran as fast as he could, Jatin often arrived late and was warned by the school. A long distance race was going to be held for the boys in the city. When Jatin learned that the third prize was a new pair of shoes, he decided to take part. He ran home excitedly and promised his sister that he would win her the new shoes. The day of race arrived. Jatin had a strong start, but halfway through the race he began to get tired and his legs began to ache. Getting more and more exhausted he thought only of Neha and his promise to her. Jatin felt overjoyed and relieved during the award ceremony, holding the shoes close to his chest. Filled with pleasure, Jatin walked home in no time. He could not wait to see his sister and share the good news. On his arrival, Jatin found Neha was walking about outside nervously and anxiously. “Neha, see what I have got for you.” Jatin said excitedly, taking the prize out of his bag with his trembling hands. Jatin.” Tears of joy welled up in their eyes as the brother and the sister hugged tightly together. 词汇激活 行为类 ①拒绝:refuse/reject ②冲过:dash across/rush across ③看到:see/catch sight of 情绪类 ①高兴的:overjoyed/pleased ②激动:thrilled/excited 【点睛】[高分句型1] Refusing to give up at this crucial point, Jatin clenched his teeth, jumped to his feet and ran as fast as he could.(运用了现在分词作状语) [高分句型2] But much to his surprise, the runner who collided with him was disqualified for breaking the rule and Jatin won the third prize.(运用了who引导定语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 东莞市第一中学2025-2026学年度第二学期高一4月段考 高一英语 (本试卷共四大题,满分150分。 1. B The sun is about to set when we reach our destination, the home of a nomadic herder (游牧牧民) family. Traditional Dishes of Mongolian Nomadic Families C Lonely? D Intelligence could play a role, according to a Michigan State University study that investigated the early stages of learning to play the piano. D. As they had not paid the rent for several months, the landlord was breathing down their necks One day, Jatin took Neha’s shoes to a shoe repairman to be fixed, but he lost them on the way home. Dreaming of the new shoes he would win for his sister gave him strength, and he stayed right behind the two fastest runners, determined to finish third. Suddenly, as the finish line drew near, another runner collided (碰撞) with Jatin from behind and Jatin crashed to the ground. Jatin looked up and he saw the other boys rushing ahead. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Filled with pleasure, Jatin walked home in no time. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
