Sentence Pattern 1: 句型学习 - 询问外貌与性格
询问男孩
— What's he like?(他这个人怎么样?)
— He's tall and strong.(他又高又壮。)
询问女孩
— What's she like?(她这个人怎么样?)
— She's kind and hard-working.(她很和蔼,学习也很努力。)
老师小贴士:'What's he/she like?' 专门用来询问外貌和性格哦!
1.7.2013
Now we know the words, let's learn how to use them in sentences. The most important question today is: "What's he like?". We use this to ask about someone's appearance or personality. For example, if I ask "What's he like?", you can answer "He's tall and strong." Or for a girl, "What's she like?" "She's kind and hard-working."
‹#›
Sentence Pattern 2: 句型学习 - 询问是否擅长
Yes (肯定回答)
— Is he good at football?(他擅长足球吗?)
— Yes, he is.(是的,他擅长。)
No (否定回答)
— Is she good at playing the piano?(她擅长弹钢琴吗?)
— No, she isn't.(不,她不擅长。)
老师小贴士:'be good at'后面要跟名词或者动词-ing形式!
1.7.2013
We can also ask if someone is good at something. We say: "Is he good at football?". If yes, we say "Yes, he is." If no, we say "No, he isn't." Remember, after 'good at', we use a noun like 'football' or a verb-ing like 'playing the piano'.
‹#›
Sentence Pattern 3: 句型学习 - 询问能力
01. Ask about others(询问别人)
— What can he do?(他会做什么?)
— He can make a robot.(他会制作机器人。)
02. Talk about yourself(谈论自己)
— What can you do?(你会做什么?)
— I can play chess.(我会下国际象棋。)
1.7.2013
Another useful question is "What can he do?". This asks about abilities. For example, "What can he do?" "He can make a robot." Now, what can you do? I can play chess. What about you? Can you play chess? Or can you play the piano?

Zhang Peng:Sure! That's a great idea! I'd love to help him learn Chinese. And maybe he can teach me some English slang in return. Let's start right away!
当然愿意!这是个好主意!我很乐意帮他学习中文。或许作为回报,他可以教我一些英语俚语。我们现在就开始吧!
1.7.2013
But Oliver has a problem. He can't speak Chinese. So Miss White asks Zhang Peng for help. She says, "Would you like to help him?". Zhang Peng is very kind and says, "Sure!". This shows us that being a good friend means helping each other.
