W: Can I take your order now?
M: I’d like a cup of coffee, please.
W: We are out of coffee right now. But we can get you some tea or juice instead.
Text 2
M: I hope I can see you at my housewarming party.
W: Oh, dear. I’ve almost forgotten. When is it?
M: Well, the day after June 1st.
W: OK. I won’t miss it!
Text 3
M: Why is there a big note stuck to your fridge that says “milk”?
W: I’m always forgetting to buy milk when I go to the supermarket. So it’s to remind me to pick some up on my way home.
Text 4
M: Can you keep quiet, please, Betty? I’m trying to read a book in the study. The noise you made in the living room drove me crazy.
W: Sorry. I’ll go to the garden to play games with my headphones on.
Text 5
M: What do you think of the song?
W: I love it. It reminds me of our trip to Hawaii.
M: Exactly, all those warm beach days.
Text 6
M: Excuse me. Where is the gym, please?
W: It’s on the 11th floor. Do you have a membership card?
M: No. Do I need to pay extra?
W: Never mind. Just tell your room number.
M: And what time does the gym close?
W: It closes at 10 p.m. on weekdays and one hour later on weekends.

M: When did you graduate, Ms. Lee?
W: Two years ago.
M: I see. And what have you been doing ever since then?
W: I’ve been working as a part-time editor for a small publishing house, and also taking care of my little sister. Now she’s in primary school, so I have more time for a full-time job.
M: All right. What skills are you good at?
W: I’m skilled in using office software. I can also write articles in both Chinese and English.
M: Why do you choose our company?
W: I have been looking forward to working with an excellent team like yours and that’s why I am here.
M: Thank you for coming. We will contact you within a week.

M: Hi, Sarah. Fancy meeting you here!
W: Hello. Long time no see. I’m hunting for a birthday gift for my son. But I’m stuck—he already has plenty of toys.
M: Oh, got it. Kids these years have so many material things. My daughter Lucy is the same. My wife has packed two large boxes with clothes Lucy never wears.
W: So, what did you do last year for her birthday?
M: I gave her an “experience gift” instead. It was a weekly cooking class. She could learn to make different dishes there.
W: That sounds unique. How much was it?
M: It was 80 dollars for one month. I bought a three-month course. She loved it so much that she even invited her friends to join later.
W: Wow, that’s a great idea. Thank you for the inspiration!
M: No problem. I hope you will find the perfect gift for him!

W: Tom, I’ve just come back from the city museum. There’s an amazing exhibition of watercolor paintings this month. You totally should have joined me.
M: Hmm, watercolor paintings? They always look too soft to me.
W: Oh, but if you take time to notice the details, you’ll see how lively and colorful they are.
M: What impressed you the most?
W: Two works really caught my eye. The first one is a landscape of a lake. The water looks like a mirror, and the pink and orange sunset makes everything feel warm and peaceful.
M: Sounds nice. What about the other one?
W: The second one is a scene of a rainy street. The umbrellas are painted in bright blue and red, and there is gray sky in the background. I felt like I was standing right there in the rain!
M: Wow, your description makes it sound more interesting. Maybe I should check out the exhibition this Sunday.
W: You definitely should!

Hello, everyone. Our school’s yearly parents’ meeting will be held tomorrow afternoon. This is a valuable chance for your parents to come and learn more about our school, meet teachers, and discuss your academic progress. The schedule for the meeting is as follows.
From 2 pm to 3 pm, there will be a general presentation by the headmaster covering key information about the school’s subjects, clubs, and upcoming events in the main hall. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
The bell rang.School was out!I grabbed my backpack and headed to the library for my favorite
after-school activity-Writing Club.Miss Lisa,our writing teacher,asked us to discuss our stories with a
"critique"partner, someone giving helpful feedback so we could share our best stories the next day.
My critique partner was Penny. We took our backpacks and sat across from each other at a table,
exchanging our stories.I was nervous.I had no problem coming up with great story ideas but I did have
problems with spelling, grammar and even punctuation )Penny didn't look at me or smile but
directly pushed her story across the table toward me.Why was she worried? She always got perfect scores
on her spelling and grammar tests.
I found myself keeping reading her story without stopping. It was about a stray dog named
Cookie saving a family in the flood and was finally adopted by them.I loved it!"Wow,great story!I don't
have any suggestions. It's perfect!""Yours too,"she mumbled ()not even looking at me as she passed
mine back. The moment Miss Lisa said the class was over,Penny looked relieved. She jumped up and
grabbed her backpack.Everything fell out."Oh no!"she cried. She quickly put her stuff back and hurried
out of the library.
I noticed a book under the table. It must have fallen out of Penny's bag.The title was Cookie the Brave.
I read the description on the back:In this heartwarming tale,a dog named Cookie finds a home after saving
a family from a flood.
It sounded so familiar that I couldn't help but tumn the pages. It was just like Penny's story! It was
longer, with some different words, but the plot was exactly the same.I couldn't believe it.Penny had
copied this idea!It wasn't fair.I thought about telling Miss Lisa, but the meaning of"critique"partner hit
me.

1.续写词数应为150左右:
2.请按如下格式作答。
Outside of the library,I saw Penny looking for something.
