根据第二段可知,作者认为做父母越来越难,是因为孩子们对电子产品越来越痴迷(kids find themselves not wanting to hand over their tablets)。
上文小标题“Identify lifestyle and community needs (确定生活方式和社区需求)”明确了本段核心是围绕“生活方式与社区需求”展开,下文“Do they prefer a lively community with lots of activities or a quieter one?
上文“For those wanting to buy, investing in retirement communities can be good, as these homes may appreciate in value.
上文小标题“Prioritize home-like amenities (便利设施) and location (优先考虑家庭式便利设施和位置)”明确本段需涵盖“设施”和“位置”两方面,下文“Proximity (接近) to parks and cultural hubs encourages social outings for them.
下文“While online searches like “find homes” are a start, visiting in person is crucial for you as a family member. (虽然像“找房子”这样的在线搜索是一个开始,但作为家庭成员,亲自参观是至关重要的)”核心强调“亲自参观”的重要性,下文“Attend an activity to see how engaging the environment is for your loved one. 故选A。
上文“visiting in person is crucial for you as a family member. (作为家庭成员,亲自参观是至关重要的)”强调实地参观的重要性,下文“Attend an activity to see how engaging the environment is for your loved one.

Being around our kids so much, parents have had an opportunity to peek inside our kids' digital worlds, and it's not always pretty. My research suggests that kids' digital spaces provide easy access to violent, age-inappropriate and commercialized content.
There's a lot of positive tech for kids out there, but kids are exposed to much garbage indeed. Most apps and videos are engineered to keep kids' attention for longer. That lets these companies make more ad dollars, even as kids find themselves not wanting to hand over their tablets — which makes parents' jobs harder.
For now, parents need to have an active role in helping their kids search for the best content.
Profit-centered tech design is often at odds with our parenting goals. Tech companies make more money from ads if our children watch longer into the evenings, but our goal is to give them a good night's sleep;of course,we also hope our children will learn and concentrate.
Securly,a company that monitors students' school-issued devices and provides teacher and parent controls, shared information with me about the extent of digital distraction this year.
Its Securly Classroom program allows teachers to see what irrelevant websites their students have opened during lesson. The company reported that the 10,168 teachers in this program closed a total of 57,890,000 irrelevant websites so far this year!
These reflections bring me to my main conclusion from watching families use technology this year: the power differential between big tech and little humans (and the exhausted parents who raise them) is too big.
It is not a fair fight to ask a child to resist a recommendations feed. It is not fair to ask parents to monitor their children's every move through a messy digital playground. It shouldn't be all on parents, who seem to be fighting a losing battle. It's time we should change the conversation from “screen time” and what parents need to be doing differently to what technology companies need to do better.
1.What makes parents' jobs harder according to the text?
A.Lack of positive content on the Internet.
B.Lack of management of tech companies.
C.Children's being addicted to digital products.
D.Children's being fond of garbage information.
2.What does the underlined phrase “at odds with” in Paragraph 4 mean?
A.Sure of. B.Similar to.
C.Familiar with. D.Different from.
3.What did the report made by Securly mainly indicate?
A.Students are distracted in class.
B.Students like surfing the Internet.
C.Teachers can control students' web use.
D.Teachers can choose websites for students.
4.What does the author appeal to in the last paragraph?
A.Children's resisting screens. B.Parents' working together.
C.Tech companies' improvement. D.The government's new policies.
