(1)语意是否前后一致;
(2)上下文是否通顺连贯,内容是否完整;
(3)所选词汇是否符合语法、句法结构;

Choose the words or expressions to complete the passage(选择最恰当的单词或短语,完成短文)
HELP OTHERS, HELP YOURSELF
Science shows that helping others can make you feel good too. The key is to find the approach that works for you.
There’s a Chinese saying that goes: “If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a 25 , go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, get rich. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.” For thousands of years, the greatest thinkers have suggested the same thing: Happiness is found in helping others. Scientific research provides data to support the idea that helping others may be the secret to living a life that is happier, healthier, and more 26 .
Giving can feel great. And as we learn early, it’s better to give than to 27 . Plus, the more you give, the more you stand to gain happiness. Follow these tips:
1 Find your passion. It’s not how much you give. It’s how much love you put into giving. You may 28 one purpose more than others, and that’s okay. Support the purpose that feels right for you.
2 Give your time. The gift of time is often more valuable to the receiver, and more satisfying to the giver, than the gift of money. We don’t all have the same amount of money, but we all have time. We can give some of this time to help others—whether a few hours each day, or a few days each year.
3 Give to groups with clear 29 . Michael Norton, a professor at Harvard Business School, in Massachusetts, says that “giving to a charity that clearly says what they’re going to do with your money leads to more happiness.”
4 Don’t forget about yourself. “Selfless giving ... easily becomes overwhelming (令人不知所措的),” psychologist Adam Grant says. He advises giving to others, 30 keeping your personal and emotional needs in mind. You matter too!
5 Be proactive. Set aside time to serve your community. Think about your choices, and find the purpose and type of service that best match your values.
25.A.minute B.hour C.day D.year
26.A.comfortable B.meaningful C.boring D.relaxing
27.A.receive B.offer C.buy D.search
28.A.talk about B.think about C.worry about D.care about
29.A.hobbies B.dreams C.goals D.jobs
30.A.but B.although C.then D.or
The scientific Nobel prizes have always, in their way, honored human intelligence. This year, for the first time, the transformative ______ of artificial intelligence (AI) has been recognized as well.
A.coverage B.Potential C.distribution D.consultation
1. 首句铺垫背景:全文围绕诺贝尔奖表彰科研突破展开,核心话题是科研成果、技术价值;
2. 单空局限:仅看填空句,四个单词语法均可填入,无法区分;
3. 依托首句主旨推理:诺贝尔奖表彰有价值的科研,AI 能够被诺奖认可,必然是其拥有巨大发展潜力 potential;coverage 报道、distribution 分配、consultation 咨询均和 “诺奖表彰技术价值” 的全文主线无关;
Why the Color Green Makes Us Feel Good 填空句:They suggest that our need for green spaces is ______ evolution.
A.devoted to B.rooted in C.controlled by D.denied by
1. 首句定全文主题:文章核心探讨绿色环境对人类心理的积极作用,从进化角度解释原因;
2. 单句局限:四个短语语法均成立,无法直接筛选;
3. 结合首句主旨判断:全文从进化起源解释人喜爱绿植,be rooted in(根植于)契合首句 “绿色使人舒适” 的进化溯源逻辑;devoted to 致力于、controlled by 被控制、denied by 被否定完全背离文章核心;
原文首句:Deliverance for Delivery Drivers? Over the past few years, delivery drivers have been criticized, fined, and even ______ for breaking traffic laws across China.
A.arrested B.fired C.blamed D.praised
答案:A
1. 首句基调铺垫:标题式首句暗含骑手工作处境艰难、存在诸多困境,全文围绕骑手违规、安全风险展开;
2. 逻辑递进线索:填空前 criticized(批评)、fined(罚款)是层层加重的处罚;
3. 依托首句困境主线筛选:arrested(逮捕)是比罚款更严重的法律处罚;blamed 与 criticized 语义重复,无递进;fired 解雇不属于交通违法处罚;praised 表扬和全文负面基调完全相反;
Toddlers in the park venture out to explore and then, in a sudden panic, race back to the safe harbour, only to venture forth again some few minutes later. From the time human babies can move around, they are torn between the safety of a grown-up hug and the ______ drive to explore.
A.desirable B.uniform C.original D.irresistible
1. 语法局限:四个形容词都可修饰 drive,单句语法无排除依据;
2. 提取上下文行为线索:幼儿明明会害怕、逃回安全区,却反复外出探索;
3. 逻辑推理:反复冒险说明探索欲望无法抵挡;irresistible 无法抗拒的匹配行为线索;desirable 值得向往的、uniform 统一的、original 原始的均无法解释幼儿反复外出的反常行为;
The refined carbs breakfast included a French baguette, jam, juice, and tea or coffee with ______ available. The unrefined carbs meal was wholemeal bread, fruit, and drinks without sugar.
A.milk B.sugar C.nut D.cream
1. 语法局限:四个名词均可作 with 的宾语,单句无法区分;
2. 抓取后文对比线索:后半句粗粮饮品明确 without sugar(无糖),前后两组早餐为对比实验;
3. 逻辑反向推理:粗粮无糖,则精制碳水饮品含糖 sugar;milk 牛奶、nut 坚果、cream 奶油未在两组对比中出现,无对应线索支撑;
When greenery disappears during drought, it triggers negative feelings like depression. ______, when greenery returns, it brings positive mental responses and encourages people to look for food.
A.However B.Therefore C.After all D.Moreover
答案:A
1. 语法局限:四个连词均可置于句首连接句子,语法全部成立;
2. 提取前后情绪线索:前半句 negative 消极情绪,后半句 positive 积极情绪,语义相反;
3. 逻辑推理:前后为转折关系,however 然而表转折;therefore 因此表因果、after all 毕竟表解释、moreover 此外表递进,均不符合对立情绪逻辑;
People acquire a culture; they are not ______ with one.
A.supplied B.exchanged C.carried D.born
1. 逻辑标识分号 + not:分号前后形成对比关系,前半句 acquire(后天获得),后半句用 not 反向对应;
2. 语义对立推导:后天获得的对立面是与生俱来,be born with 天生拥有;
3. 词义排除:supply 供应、exchange 交换、carry 携带,无法和 acquire 构成对比逻辑;
All people are ethnocentric to some degree, and national pride can benefit society. ______, extreme ethnocentrism may lead to racism and prejudice against other groups.
A.In contrast B.In particular C.As a result D.On the whole
答案:A
1. 逻辑线索识别:前半句 benefit society(对社会有益),后半句 lead to racism(引发种族歧视),前后语义完全相反;
2. 逻辑短语匹配:in contrast 相反,用于对比两种截然不同的结果;in particular 尤其、as a result 因此、on the whole 总体而言均无转折对比含义;
The theory of identity-based motivation works ______ people imagine a successful future for themselves, they will take active steps to face difficulties.
A.because B.if C.though D.until
1. 拆分句子逻辑:“想象成功未来” 是条件,“主动直面困难” 是该条件下产生的结果;
2. 连词辨析:if 如果,引导条件状语从句;because 引导原因、though 引导让步、until 引导时间,均不符合 “条件 — 结果” 逻辑;
The process by which a person develops a taste for regional foods is known as enculturation, the ______ of absorbing local cultural customs over time.
A.method B.process C.style D.culture
1. 词汇原词复现:前文主句核心名词 the process,后文同位语用 the ______ 对 enculturation 进行解释,前后指代同一概念;
2. 复现匹配:process 过程在前文原词出现,形成语义复现;method 方法、style 风格、culture 文化均未在前文对应复现;
We need to reduce prejudice and build mutual ______ between people from different backgrounds. By talking face to face, strangers can know each other better and remove bias. A.violence B.understanding C.difference D.conflict
1. 同义语义复现:reduce prejudice(减少偏见)、remove bias(消除隔阂)均指向人与人之间互相理解;understanding 理解与消除偏见属于同义语义复现;
2. 词义排除:violence 暴力、conflict 冲突和原文正向语义相反;difference 差异无法消除偏见;
Some students only bury themselves in textbooks with narrow interests; others spend all their time on campus activities with shallow knowledge. We must keep a balanced way instead of these two ______.
A.extremes B.peaks C.degrees D.ends
答案:A
1. 反义词复现线索:balanced 平衡的,反义词为极端;前文列举两种完全相反的学习生活模式,后文用 two ______ 概括;
2. 词汇匹配:extremes 极端,与 balanced 构成反义复现;peaks 顶峰、degrees 程度、ends 末尾无对应反义线索;
Artificial neural networks are computer programs ______ on the working rules of biological neurons.
A.based B.launched C.expanded D.evaluated
答案:A
1. 固定介词搭配考点:空格后介词 on,固定搭配 be based on 意为 “基于”;
2. 搭配排除:launch 启动、expand 拓展、evaluate 评估均无法与 on 构成符合本句语义的固定短语;
The platforms have set strict time limits and constantly ______ more pressure on delivery riders to finish orders quickly.
A.put away B.put on C.put out D.put into
1. 短语辨析:put into effort/pressure 施加压力;put away 收好;put on 穿上;put out 熄灭;
2. 语境筛选:只有 put into 可搭配 pressure 表示施加压力,其余短语语义完全不符;
People’s dietary choices can ______ a lasting influence on their skin condition and facial attractiveness.
A.exert B.perform C.conduct D.execute
答案:A
1. 固定动宾搭配:exert an influence on 为英语固定搭配,意为 “对…… 产生影响”;
2. 词义辨析:perform 表演、conduct 组织、execute 执行,均不能和 influence 构成标准搭配;
In the quiz experiment, participants did not smile when they were thinking hard for answers. However, they smiled widely after knowing whether their answers were right or wrong. Surprisingly, they smiled more when they failed the questions. This ______ shows that smiles are just a social tool instead of a sign of joy.
A.smile B.behavior C.answer D.engagement
1. 单一句子局限:仅看填空句,四个单词语法均可填入,无固定搭配线索;
2. 上下求索整合完整语境:前文完整描述整套实验现象 —— 答题、反馈对错、答错微笑,是一整套连贯行为,不只是单一微笑;
3. 语境综合判断:behavior(行为)概括前文全部实验现象;smile 仅指代单一动作,无法概括整套实验流程;answer 答案、engagement 参与感脱离语境描述;
Low SES students face heavy financial and mental pressure in college. They often hesitate to communicate with teachers or take difficult exams. Imagining a successful future can give them action readiness and stop them from ______ when facing academic challenges. A.withdrawing B.transforming C.advancing D.engaging
答案:A
1. 单句局限:只看空格后 “facing academic challenges”,无法判断学生的行为;
2. 上下求索整合前文语境:前文 hesitate 犹豫、畏惧考试,体现学生遇到困难容易退缩;
3. 语境筛选:withdrawing 退缩贴合前文消极心理;transform 改变、advance 前进、engage 参与均与学生畏难的语境完全相反;
Many elderly people lose openness and extroversion as they grow old, but this shift does not mean they feel helpless. Instead, they ______ their life goals and focus only on things they truly value, such as staying with family.
A.fulfill B.modify C.uphold D.abandon
1. 局部单句线索不足:仅看后半句 focus on valuable things,无法确定目标相关动词;
2. 整合前后完整语境:老人不再追求广泛社交,转而重视亲情,是对原有人生目标做出调整;
3. 语境词义筛选:modify 调整、修改符合老人转变生活重心的语境;fulfill 完成、uphold 坚持、abandon 抛弃均无法匹配 “转变重心、保留重要事物” 的完整语境;

Yet it’s simply me judging myself.”
Some people do not mind procrastinating, believing they perform better when they are under pressure. But researchers 5 . They did an experiment, putting procrastinators under 6 of time. In fact, the procrastinators did worse than non-procrastinators, but they 7 they did better.
Whatever the 8 is (or lack of it), procrastination is usually bad for you. Delaying a diet may increase your risk of heart disease. Just thinking about things you haven’t done may cause 9 . “Procrastinators feel more stressed, both from leaving things to the last minute and from their own 10 and critical feelings about their procrastination,” says Fuschia, a psychology lecturer.
For those who need motivation, the best advice may be to 11 . “We used to think behaviors follow our attitude,” Pychyl says. “But if you can make small 12 , even a little, it will push you forward.”
Next, try sending yourself signals to action. You can use a timer to make your lights dim (变暗) slowly. This will help you keep a(n) 13 bedtime. Researchers tested this idea and it worked on most of the subjects. “They formed a(n) 14 ,” researchers say. “When the lights start to dim, people know it is time to go to bed.”
Finally, 15 yourself for each step you take toward your goal. After you pay the bills, watch your favorite TV show.

Did you watch the popular TV series Meet Yourself during your winter vacation? In the TV series, the heroine Xu travels to a village in Yunnan province and volunteers at a local cafe. She gets free meals 1 . As the show finds a growing audience, volunteer travel — an old-yet-modern form of travel similar to Xu’s type of work — has attracted more attention.
Volunteer travel refers to taking a trip where all or part of the 2 of the trip is to participate in an arranged service opportunity to help others, according to Wise Tour, an online provider of tourist information. During the trip, volunteer travelers often provide 3 like teaching, cooking, animal caring, and cultural activities. In exchange for their help, the volunteers may get free or 4 accommodation, meals and laundry, activities, or classes.
It seems as if these long journeys could only be made possible in recent years by modern transportation. 5 , volunteer travel dates back to the 1960s, when Alec Dickson and his wife from the UK founded Voluntary Service Overseas, an international volunteer organization. 6 , the volunteer activities take place in a foreign country. Yet, just as what Meet Yourself reveals, more volunteer trips have taken place within the same countries or regions the volunteers come from in recent years. Sanlian Lifeweek magazine 7 that volunteer projects in rural areas are now attracting more urban visitors as a break from the fast and 8 pace of urban living. Yang, a founder of a volunteer platform, told the magazine that it has indeed been a growing trend for urban residents to volunteer in rural areas.
People try volunteer travel for several reasons. By working 9 while traveling, travelers may make a real, positive impact on the world. The services volunteers provide can be through charities with lower costs for the communities they serve. Another benefit of volunteer travel is that it helps urban citizens to get a taste of rural life. For those who are sick of urban pressure but can’t make up their minds whether to move permanently to the countryside, volunteer travel can be a solution. In this way, as Yang remarks, travelers can 10 some relief from their busy lives, while rural communities also benefit by receiving more customers for local tourism industries and temporary high-quality labor.

So far, to reduce congestion, cities have mainly tried a combination of discouraging driving and encouraging walking and cycling. Paris has 11 traffic from some streets, while Barcelona has received much international attention for its plan to organise the city into a series of “superblocks” — where cars are restricted to certain big roads, with streets in-between 12 pedestrian-only parks and playgrounds.
But new technologies could bring more changes. Micromobility, including electric scooters (电动车) and bikes, is seen as a potential solution to moving people more 13 around cities.
Dozens of start-ups including Bird, Lime, Voi and Bolt have 14 cities with shared scooters that can be rented by the minute. In a survey, some 34 per cent of riders in Portland, Oregon, said they had used a scooter 15 driving a personal car or using a ride-hailing app or taxi for their most recent ride.
Scooter safety, however, is making city planners 16 . Sweden’s transport agency is calling for electric scooters to be banned following the death of a man riding a Voi scooter in Helsingborg. For scooters to work, cities will have to 17 more safe pathways for them — possibly high above the city streets. Xiamen in southeast China, 18 , has built a nearly 8 km elevated cycle-way for bikes. BMW group and China’s Tongji University, meanwhile, have drawn up even more ambitious plans for a network of covered tubes above the streets for scooter and bike traffic. They say several cities have expressed 19 .
Electric self-driving cars could also greatly change the 20 of cities. Such cars could change the way cities are laid out, says Willem Strijbosch, head of self-driving at Tom Tom, the mapping company. “It could 21 a lot of space. If the vast majority of transport is done by self-driving vehicles, the streets could be narrower,” he says.
Self-driving cars communicating with each other through a wireless network would be able to pass each other with centimeter 22 . “You may be able to fit four lanes in where you previously had three. Traffic lights will be no longer needed. Cars will communicate by means of maps, and will 23 right of way at crossings in a different way.”
Public transport could become highly personalised, says Warwick Goodall, a partner at PA Consulting, who focuses on transport and mobility. “For the last century, transport has been about building train sets. The next decades of transport will be built around personal 24 . That is why Uber and other ride-hailing services have grown so quickly — you can hail a cab and it will arrive in two minutes. We will go from transport on 25 rails and routes to one that is highly personalised.”

(1)语意是否前后一致;
(2)上下文是否通顺连贯,内容是否完整;
(3)所选词汇是否符合语法、句法结构;

The scientific Nobel prizes have always, in their way, honored human intelligence. This year, for the first time, the transformative ______ of artificial intelligence (AI) has been recognized as well.
A.coverage B.Potential C.distribution D.consultation
1. 首句铺垫背景:全文围绕诺贝尔奖表彰科研突破展开,核心话题是科研成果、技术价值;
2. 单空局限:仅看填空句,四个单词语法均可填入,无法区分;
3. 依托首句主旨推理:诺贝尔奖表彰有价值的科研,AI 能够被诺奖认可,必然是其拥有巨大发展潜力 potential;coverage 报道、distribution 分配、consultation 咨询均和 “诺奖表彰技术价值” 的全文主线无关;
Why the Color Green Makes Us Feel Good 填空句:They suggest that our need for green spaces is ______ evolution.
A.devoted to B.rooted in C.controlled by D.denied by
1. 首句定全文主题:文章核心探讨绿色环境对人类心理的积极作用,从进化角度解释原因;
2. 单句局限:四个短语语法均成立,无法直接筛选;
3. 结合首句主旨判断:全文从进化起源解释人喜爱绿植,be rooted in(根植于)契合首句 “绿色使人舒适” 的进化溯源逻辑;devoted to 致力于、controlled by 被控制、denied by 被否定完全背离文章核心;
原文首句:Deliverance for Delivery Drivers? Over the past few years, delivery drivers have been criticized, fined, and even ______ for breaking traffic laws across China.
A.arrested B.fired C.blamed D.praised
答案:A
1. 首句基调铺垫:标题式首句暗含骑手工作处境艰难、存在诸多困境,全文围绕骑手违规、安全风险展开;
2. 逻辑递进线索:填空前 criticized(批评)、fined(罚款)是层层加重的处罚;
3. 依托首句困境主线筛选:arrested(逮捕)是比罚款更严重的法律处罚;blamed 与 criticized 语义重复,无递进;fired 解雇不属于交通违法处罚;praised 表扬和全文负面基调完全相反;
1. 语法局限:四个形容词都可修饰 drive,单句语法无排除依据;
2. 提取上下文行为线索:幼儿明明会害怕、逃回安全区,却反复外出探索;
3. 逻辑推理:反复冒险说明探索欲望无法抵挡;irresistible 无法抗拒的匹配行为线索;desirable 值得向往的、uniform 统一的、original 原始的均无法解释幼儿反复外出的反常行为;
The refined carbs breakfast included a French baguette, jam, juice, and tea or coffee with ______ available. The unrefined carbs meal was wholemeal bread, fruit, and drinks without sugar.
A.milk B.sugar C.nut D.cream
1. 语法局限:四个名词均可作 with 的宾语,单句无法区分;
2. 抓取后文对比线索:后半句粗粮饮品明确 without sugar(无糖),前后两组早餐为对比实验;
3. 逻辑反向推理:粗粮无糖,则精制碳水饮品含糖 sugar;milk 牛奶、nut 坚果、cream 奶油未在两组对比中出现,无对应线索支撑;
When greenery disappears during drought, it triggers negative feelings like depression. ______, when greenery returns, it brings positive mental responses and encourages people to look for food.
A.However B.Therefore C.After all D.Moreover
答案:A
1. 语法局限:四个连词均可置于句首连接句子,语法全部成立;
2. 提取前后情绪线索:前半句 negative 消极情绪,后半句 positive 积极情绪,语义相反;
3. 逻辑推理:前后为转折关系,however 然而表转折;therefore 因此表因果、after all 毕竟表解释、moreover 此外表递进,均不符合对立情绪逻辑;
People acquire a culture; they are not ______ with one.
A.supplied B.exchanged C.carried D.born
1. 逻辑标识分号 + not:分号前后形成对比关系,前半句 acquire(后天获得),后半句用 not 反向对应;
2. 语义对立推导:后天获得的对立面是与生俱来,be born with 天生拥有;
3. 词义排除:supply 供应、exchange 交换、carry 携带,无法和 acquire 构成对比逻辑;
All people are ethnocentric to some degree, and national pride can benefit society. ______, extreme ethnocentrism may lead to racism and prejudice against other groups.
A.In contrast B.In particular C.As a result D.On the whole
答案:A
1. 逻辑线索识别:前半句 benefit society(对社会有益),后半句 lead to racism(引发种族歧视),前后语义完全相反;
2. 逻辑短语匹配:in contrast 相反,用于对比两种截然不同的结果;in particular 尤其、as a result 因此、on the whole 总体而言均无转折对比含义;
The theory of identity-based motivation works ______ people imagine a successful future for themselves, they will take active steps to face difficulties.
A.because B.if C.though D.until
1. 拆分句子逻辑:“想象成功未来” 是条件,“主动直面困难” 是该条件下产生的结果;
2. 连词辨析:if 如果,引导条件状语从句;because 引导原因、though 引导让步、until 引导时间,均不符合 “条件 — 结果” 逻辑;
The process by which a person develops a taste for regional foods is known as enculturation, the ______ of absorbing local cultural customs over time.

Artificial neural networks are computer programs ______ on the working rules of biological neurons.
A.based B.launched C.expanded D.evaluated
答案:A

1. 固定介词搭配考点:空格后介词 on,固定搭配 be based on 意为 “基于”;
2. 搭配排除:launch 启动、expand 拓展、evaluate 评估均无法与 on 构成符合本句语义的固定短语;

2. 词义辨析:perform 表演、conduct 组织、execute 执行,均不能和 influence 构成标准搭配;
1. 单一句子局限:仅看填空句,四个单词语法均可填入,无固定搭配线索;
2. 上下求索整合完整语境:前文完整描述整套实验现象 —— 答题、反馈对错、答错微笑,是一整套连贯行为,不只是单一微笑;
3. 语境综合判断:behavior(行为)概括前文全部实验现象;smile 仅指代单一动作,无法概括整套实验流程;answer 答案、engagement 参与感脱离语境描述;
Low SES students face heavy financial and mental pressure in college. They often hesitate to communicate with teachers or take difficult exams. 答案:A
1. 单句局限:只看空格后 “facing academic challenges”,无法判断学生的行为;
2. 上下求索整合前文语境:前文 hesitate 犹豫、畏惧考试,体现学生遇到困难容易退缩;
3. 语境筛选:withdrawing 退缩贴合前文消极心理;transform 改变、advance 前进、engage 参与均与学生畏难的语境完全相反;
Many elderly people lose openness and extroversion as they grow old, but this shift does not mean they feel helpless. Instead, they ______ their life goals and focus only on things they truly value, such as staying with family.
A.fulfill B.modify C.uphold D.abandon
1. 局部单句线索不足:仅看后半句 focus on valuable things,无法确定目标相关动词;
2. 整合前后完整语境:老人不再追求广泛社交,转而重视亲情,是对原有人生目标做出调整;
3. 语境词义筛选:modify 调整、修改符合老人转变生活重心的语境;fulfill 完成、uphold 坚持、abandon 抛弃均无法匹配 “转变重心、保留重要事物” 的完整语境;

Yang, a founder of a volunteer platform, told the magazine that it has indeed been a growing trend for urban residents to volunteer in rural areas.
People try volunteer travel for several reasons. By working 9 while traveling, travelers may make a real, positive impact on the world.
